The locations wonderful. Despite being so close to the little town (Steinbach) it feels much more remote than it really is. There is a wonderful view from the rooms facing west and visible from the terrace. In good weather eating outside great. But the interior where the restaurant is you feel to be in a very authentic German building. It's very cosy! The menu includes traditional Schwabian food as well as 'regular' dishes. They also serve weissbier! Very important detail :-) This was my second time staying. I am sure I will be back :-)

There is one detail that could be an issue for some. Beyond the main building with restaurant, there are a number of steps to negotiate (the hotel in built into a hillside). They are barely noticed by most people, but if mobility is an issue, just be aware there are a number of steps up into to hotel accommodation.

Nice apartment in a great location. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony is amazing!! The apartment gets boiling hot in the summer, but there is a portable AC unit that helps a lot.

There is no fitted window for the AC unit's exhaust pipe, so you have to let it hang out of an open window, which doesn't help with the heat. Also, the restaurant was closed even though their website stated that they would be open Wednesdays to Sundays.

Lovely property in a stunning setting! The guesthouse rooms are comfortable and well-fitted out, and the nightly rate was very reasonable. The restaurant was absolutely excellent: the best meal we had on a two week trip, and also reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Add to that a location just a few miles from the Black Forest "high road" and from the historic spa resort town of Baden-Baden. Highly recommended!

No air conditioning. Not a problem in October, and there are fans in the rooms.

Location was really nice as was the village. Room was fine with a good shower. Breakfast was really nice and the staff were helpful and spoke English.

The village restaurant generally shut on a Monday and Tuesday evening. As does the hotel Restaurant. We had to go out of town to get an evening meal.

The room and the view were very good. Excellent bed and very clean room.

We were not informed that the restaurant and bar would be closed upon our arrival. We were delayed due to traffic and were hoping for a meal, which was unavailable at the hotel, as we had hoped.

It was quite clean and cozy room. Reception was communicable because they called me before I arrive to hotel and let me know that they’d not be over there and told me my key box password. Besides, breakfast was good.

Beautiful location. Clean, nicely decorated room (good shower)and lovely seated terrace that allowed us to sit out and enjoy the evening. Very quiet too.

We weren't aware the restaurant was closed on a Tues and there were no staff to greet us, however we did receive helpful information on our arrival and found a local pizza place for dinner.

The location is good with a view of the clans. A trampoline was available if there are children. Breakfast was available, but we didn't use it. Loved that there was free parking next to the property.

The walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors next door and above.

We did not know until a few days before that the restaurant would not be open for even meal . We had a ten hour day travelling as was hoping to eat there . Maybe some tea and coffee making facilities would be also good

Convenient for stop-over when driving to Italy. Very quiet spot. Excellent dinner (need to reserve).
