I treated myself to an early birthday solo trip and will definitely return with my husband and dogs. The experience was fantastic, especially the spa area with fitness facilities and the pool, the lovely walk to the nearby lake, and the wonderful staff at dinner. The overall ambiance, including the room and the castle lounge met my expectations. It’s a place where you can relax, stay active, and feel truly cared for. It's a fairly large hotel, but you still feel like there's plenty of privacy.

Considering the overall experience, upgrading the worn furniture in the room and providing a kettle would be a welcome improvement.

Very friendly and helpful staff. All food delicious. Buildings and surroundings very beautiful. Nice man in the bar in the castle. The staff in the reception and spa were truly helpful when I got ill. Really thankful for this help. Very dog friendly. The room was very beautiful. Birds singing outside.

No fridge in the room. Had to walk to another building to eat. Difficult when you have a dog. Not so easy with parking. No shadow when it is hot and you have no air condition in the car. Food and drinks are expensive.

The hotel is nice, findable via Google Maps without problems. There are parking spots freely available. The room we had was quite good and clean, there was a bottle of water, the bed was comfortable, heating worked well. The surroundings are very nice as well.

The lady at the reception did not mention there is a spa, which is not a problem as we knew it beforehand - but if we didn't we could have missed out.

Beautiful countryside resort like facility with many activities there or nearby - forest hiking, lake for swimming/paddle boarding, golf course, art’s studio and spa on site. Lovely restaurant with great breakfast buffet.

There’s an extra €20 charge to use pool and gym. I understand paying for services like a massage or classes. But a pool and gym that are already there? No bike or paddle board rentals though available nearby.

This is a very nice hotel indeed , lots of history and some very nice modern additions , good car parking, comfortable rooms and very nice restaurant , breakfast was very nice too

on the night I stayed , restaurant staff weren`t quite "on the ball" it wasn`t busy and there were plenty of staff around , however they just weren`t attentive enough IMHO ....ON THE UP SIDE .. the food was very nice

Nice rural location, within a 2 hour drive from Kiel (for the Sweden ferry). Interesting range of buildings - from the original schloss (more like a grand country home, than a castle), a modern block and the one we stayed in, another converted older building. There is a big spa facility and pool, neither of which we used. Nice bar area for after dinner drinks. Great bathroom. Most of the staff were very pleasant.

We received a cold and rather abrupt reception on arrival (maybe it’s because we’d booked one of their ‘cheaper’ , souterrain rooms as it was all they had left due to a very big wedding being held at the hotel), confused information about whether the bar was open or not (again, due to the wedding). No tea/coffee, iron or mini bar and just two coat hangers and one pillow per person in the room - not what I’d expect of a 4 ´star’ and for the price. Dinner was also mediocre and expensive.

Amazing place and location, loved the interior! Very nice and quiet room. The staff was really friendly and service-minded. Loved the atmosphere and would've liked to stay longer.

The price was okay, but I had expected it to include some extra, like breakfast or at least regular, black coffee, etc.

Great and quite location, amazing room and room's view, prefect breakfast and dinner and very good and useful staff. Very recommended.

The spa was quite full our first day there but the days after were fine. No mini-fridges in the room but you can give what you want to have cooled at reception or ask for a bucket of ice at the restaurant

Very special location, off track and quiet. We did not go to the sauna or spa since we arrived too late for it. We had a late swim in the nearby lake, which was a wonderful alternative. Nobody there but us.

If the sauna were open until later than 8, this would be nice for people who arrive late and like to have dinner later. The restaurant is very pricy but offers fine food.
