A family run hotel in the countryside a short drive from Freudenstadt. We were a little earlier than expected but the owner Sabine was very friendly and welcoming giving us a free welcome drink which we enjoyed in the beer garden at the rear of the hotel. We were able to park our motorcycle in the private hotel car park close to our room. The room was clean and comfortable with a balcony with views of the countryside. Fresh fruit was available for guests in the bar area.

Everything was fantastic. Sabine is a wonderful host, she manages to be both super helpful and warm while also giving you lots of space. The beds are outstandingly comfortable. Breakfast was great. The garden was beautiful and the location was super for exploring the local area. As we stayed two nights we were given a pass for attractions in the local area- some free and some discounted. This was so valuable, we couldn’t believe it! So many fantastic things to do in Schwartzwald. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend it to our friends. Thanks Sabine and the team!

A beautiful location. We were warmly met by very friendly staff. Complementary drink on arrival. The room was lovely with a very warm ensuite. We ate in the hotel. Food was great too.

I had a lovely stay at the Sonnenschein Hotel. The hosts are just adorable, both from the Hotel as from the restaurant. Rooms comfy, food very good, kindness all around, forest just down the road for beautiful walks,... What else do you need ? I warmly recommend this place.

Beautiful location, welcoming and helpful staff, the rooms have new furniture, the beds are very comfortable, smart TV with Netflix App, modern and cozy restaurant, plenty of parking spots, free warm beverages and snacks for guests all through the day at the restaurant.

The bathroom was a bit old.

very beautiful property with lots of space outside to sit and enjoy the Sun with a beer. The room was spacious with a beautiful balcony and super soft beds. we ate at the restaurant and the meals were delicious!

the breakfast - its not really a strong criticism as I imagine it’s perfectly fine for most - we just didn’t like the selection and found that you could get better value for your money elsewhere.

The hotel is very nice, the rooms comfortable and the staff very attentive and nice. There is a restaurant in the hotel with very good food. We ate all the evenings there. Also the place to sit outside was very nice and relaxing

We booked two rooms and asked to get them close each other, but we got the rooms in two different buildings. Anyway, we enjoyed the stay.

Had a nice dinner when we arrived late that at night. Staff was very friendly, some did not speak english but not a problem at all. Food portions were really big. Had a lovely view from the terrace and it was nice to take in fresh air in the morning. Room was clean and there was also a small shared kitchen to heat up food etc

The host warmly welcomed us. Rooms are clean and tidy. Great location from which to explore the black forest area and have access nearby to shops and restaurants.
