First impressions were excellent- rustic, relaxed but classy. Booked originally for its position on the way to Denmark but surprised ( nicely 👌) by the uniqueness of the room- a mix between modern and old timber barn. Complementary coffee fruit & chocs! We booked dinner (definitely advised!) and enjoyed a wide, splendid selection of traditional cooking- that was excellent! An early breakfast that was plentiful as it was varied. It included options for the vegetarian and allergic. A single night stay truly felt like we had spent a restful holiday before our true one began. (An additional note, the hotel lies next to a lake which has a walk around it so getting there early and exploring is a must.)

Amazing location and very clean and modern

The staff were friendly but didn’t give us a lot of information so we didn’t know when breakfast was or started from whether it was included in our stay or not and if it wasn’t how much it would be to add on. We ended up not having any breakfast as they came to tell us breakfast was finishing in half an hour so we rushed down to find the left over food they said we could help ourselves to but would still have to pay for the price of a full breakfast.

The location is very good. Beautiful surroundings, safe car parking, peaceful. Good bedding and mattress. One of the pillows was a bit odd. The service was professional and courteous. The room was as described, comfortable and well appointed. I was there on a national holiday so no staff in reception to welcome me and the restaurant was closed so can't comment on dinner but breakfast was fine.

There could have been in room information on how to operate the sauna and whirlpool bath instead of leaving the guest to figure out where the box to turn on the sauna is and what the bath control panel meant. There may have been some info on the tablet in German but I didn't find it and my German isn't too bad. I wasn't a fan of the honesty drinks fridge in the corridor, there was no great choice for a single traveller who doesn't want a full bottle of wine or a beer. Some half bottles of wine and sparkling wine would have gone down well. Not sure what the switch at the entrance to the main room does but it didn't turn any lights on, so had to fumble in the dark for the lamp switches.

Really lovely hotel. Very welcoming! The restaurant had amazing food and thr setting was just beautiful

Location is fabulous rooms are spectacular and staff super friendly I travel 6 months a year staying in hotels this is in the top 10 and in fact number 1

It was Ruhetag but everything was well prepared and organised so I cannot say I missed anything – but I cannot judge the restaurant part. The room was very good however and I slept like a log, which was the purpose for my stop over after a long drive from Sweden. The setting by the dam Is lovely and the trails in the forest are refreshing. I will bring my wife next time and have dinner in the restaurant that I trust is as good as the rest of the establishment.

it is a very comfortable room for a couple. Sauna and shower are very good! great to spend time with your spouse.

No door at the toilette and no minibar in the room.

Beautiful hotel In beautiful surroundings. Have stayed here a few times over the years and it never fails to charm or impress.

We loved the delicious breakfast and dinner. The place is absolutely gorgeous.

I can't think of anything to make it better! My family loved everything.
