Fantastic and cozy Hotel in the forest next to a little spring. Everybody was really friendly, also the other guests, making us feel welcome. At the same time being in the middle of the forest, the fresh air and listening to the soft sounds from the spring, really made us calm down and relax. We would love to come back.

The pillows were not to our liking, but we still slept fantastic...

Conveniently located on the Heinrich-Heine hiking route, the hotel provides a perfect stop for resting before the hike. Great amenities and good breakfast to start your day. Would definitely recommend it.

A bit far from the train station but it makes up for it by being close to the hiking routes.

Breakfast was very good, Dinner and bedroom with view on te river and the woods. The personnel is very helpfull and friendly. From the hotel you can walk beautifully in the woods.

The hotel is the last one located in a narrow valley where you can take several hiking routes. The room and bathroom are clean. Good bed. Our room was on 3th floor, but easy with a small elevator. Good breakfast, a lot to choose from. Parking 50 meters from hotel.

What a Jem ! Having hiked for 4 hrs I was relieved to find that the restaurant was open to 8pm Great choice, very friendly hospitality!! Big spread for breakfast included in price , best hotel I have stayed in and excellent value for money 5*

Lovely location, very nice staff and happy that they have vegan options in the restaurant. Small but clean room.

Smoking from the terrace went into our room through the open window. But happy that smoking at the entrance is not allowed anymore.

Quiet and calm. I appreciated mosquito nets on both windows.

Soup in the restaurant was obviously from a can... not self-made. Though not expensive, it was not worth the money at all.

Location, food,clean and the hotel owner and his employees are all friendly esp. the restaurant employees!

Wifi… we’re on the third floor and zero signal! Wifi is only downstairs we’re reception and restaurant is!

If anything, the spa area could be open a bit longer in the evening.. :)

The location is excellent for walking in the Harz. The staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived in the middle of a storm with my dog - many people had cancelled because of the storm but the staff could not have made me feel more welcome. The food was excellent , well prepared and tasted as good as it looked. The WiFi worked well for me - I had an iPad, an iPhone 11, and Laptop running Windows 10 all running simultaneously with no issues on the first floor. For anyone looking for a five star hotel but paying three star prices this not for you - but for a good quality 3 star German hotel sitting on the entrance to the beautiful Harz with pleasant sociable staff and facilities after a hard days walking this is for you.

i had no complaints about the hotel - in my own opinion it was a highly enjoyable stay
