We stayed at Hotel Baren on our bike tour along the Neckartalradweg. Our group of three remembers it as one of the best hotels we stayed at on our trip! It's the perfect mix of old-style German gasthaus charm and updated, modern facilities. The family that runs it was very helpful and friendly. Our three-person room was large and nicely appointed, and was great value for the money. But what really stood out was the AMAZING breakfast buffet made up of all locally sourced ingredients, including meats and cheeses from the in-house metgerei (butcher shop). Honestly, we would go out of our way to stay there again just for the breakfast. As bicycle tourists we appreciate the locked bike storage area where we could leave our bikes overnight. The town of Marbach itself is a very interesting small walled city that overlooks the Neckar. Although we didn't appreciate the steep uphill to the town at the end of a day of biking, it was worth it to get to this hotel and town. We had an excellent Italian dinner (pizza and pasta dishes) at the nearby Trattoria Toscana resturant. We'd 100% stay at Hotel Baren again.

With my family (4 people) I stopped in Marbach am Neckar ono night on my road trip back from Copenaghen to Milan. This is an exceptional family hotel, super cozy with a super traditional breakfast. Parking is located 100 mt and it is for free. The room was really big with two rooms and a living area with a nice sofa. The hotel has a butcher shop, they sell traditional high quality products.

The hotel is located in thd old town, close to several restaurants. Travelling with 2 kids, the quadruple room was very spacious. One of the best breakfast we had. Very good choice of home made jams and museli.

The downside of being in the old town is that you need to walk 4-5 minutes to free public parking.

Very nice, family-style small hotel. Rooms are small but clean and creatively furbished. The breakfast is excellent with special foods and handmade. Challenge is parking

Breakfast was very nice.

Although staff did speak varying amounts of English and were quite nice, facilities seemed to be geared towards the more frequent customers which were German speaking.

The room was a bit depressing, bed short and with bad pillow and the TV had only German channels
