Perfect location on the central square but taxi needed for uphill journey to hotel if arriving by train. Good breakfast with excellent service, Quirky but charming atmosphere in old building, Cheerful staff and very good restaurant. Room was very spacious with comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities, Painted furniture added to charm of room.

Important to note that rooms are on floors above restaurant and there is no reception or contact point. Email sent to explain collection of room keys assumes good working knowledge of German. My personal quibble was the lack of hot water in the morning. Only a trickle from the tap which vanished through an ineffective basin plug.

In the heart of Marburg's historical city center, in a really cute old fachwerk house. The rustic style of the room really fits the house. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was good and clean. The room had a kettle with tea supplies, the floor hall had a water cooler with some sweets.

During my particular stay there was no wifi. Apparently, there was an emergency in the city that cut out the cable. I hope it's the case and won't charge it against them. The breakfast is really simple, but was already included in the very moderate price, so no complaints.

Loved being on the market square, even though it was noisy. It was a cool day in Sept.. Had it been summer, I might not like loved it so much.

It was clean but there was a random sack in a corner and empty beer cans inside a nightstand. The floor was very slanted, which is part of being in an old building, but might worry some people.

It is a beautifully located hotel in the middle of Marburg with lots of character. The rooms are a little old-fashioned but it fits the hotel very nicely and the beds are wonderful. The view from the hotel is also very nice and the breakfast is definitely worth it! The lady who runs the hotel is super nice and as I had a late check in, it was possible to get the key from a storage locker at the entrance. Don't forget that there is no parking at the hotel, so you'll have to park in the Tiefgarage Close by, which is a 10 min walk to the hotel. That 10 min include lots of stairs! I heard there is an elevator somewhere, but I could not find it so I took the stairs.

The shower is a little small and old fashioned, but it is nice and warm, it just fits the hotel. The pillows on the bed were a little old, but not too bad.

The location was great. We loved staying in a historic building in the Altstadt. My wife especially enjoyed opening the window and looking down into the square. We also were able to walk anywhere in old town and all the way to the castle. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip,

There is a bar across the street and it got noisy on Sat night. That said it was a nice bar and we enjoyed it, My wife used earplugs and slept fine. Also know the clock on the townhall chimed on the hour all night.

Unfussy traditional German hotel right in the car-free historic heart of Marburg - to which you have to walk from the top of the car park. Beds were comfortable, room tastefullly and traditionally furnished, equipped with kettle and mugs and spotlessly clean. The self check in and lift up to our floor worked seamlessly. The view from our windows was stunning. Cute old-world breakfast room with a plentiful, freshly served breakfast. Pleasant staff. As is typical for an older building, there are some steps up and down on the ground floor(s) - not a problem for us, but a consideration for anyone with mobility challenges.

Parking situation is very complicated, you have to reserve parking in advance (which I did not understand because it is not mentioned in the messages sent by the property on booking.com)

Best location in the centre of the old town, beautiful old building, lovely staff, generous breakfast. Handmade wooden bed and furniture gave the room a comfortable welcoming character.

Very old building, means low wooden beams and steep uneven stairs. Adds to the character and there is a good lift, but maybe not suited for the less mobile.

Amazing location, a gorgeous building just outside the main square. Very charming, old-style interior Great staff, lovely simple breakfast. Rooms are very simple, could do with a tiny upgrade in the bathroom, but just like staying at your grandma's house. Simple, great value for money. Little bit noisy if someone walking past your room early and talks loudly - but that's people issue not the hotels. Would come back for sure. Thank you :)
