This is a traditional German gasthaus style hotel and a very nice, cozy place to stay. It's family run and from check in to departure their friendly hospitality added to the overall feeling of wellbeing. The room was a good size and well equipped. There is a mini-bar on the landing, very convenient. I ate in the restaurant in the evening and my choice from the menu of the day was excellent and good value for money. Likewise, breakfast was very generous and great value. Off the beaten track a little but if your cycling or hiking around Meinweg NP I'd thoroughly recommend you rest overnight here.

We arrived late, but checking in was very easy. The room was small but cozy, and the heaters worked perfectly, keeping us warm throughout the night. The free parking was a great bonus. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful! The hosts had set the table beautifully and served freshly made scrambled eggs. Everything was fresh and delicious. Thank you for the lovely experience!

The apartment was advertised as a two-bedroom, but it’s actually a one-bedroom with the second bed in the living room. This can be inconvenient as it disturbs others if you need to use the kitchen or bathroom at night.

Really quiet location and close to a lovely lake. We only stayed one night to have a rest (travelled from Czech to England). Everything was superb, the room was modern, clean with very comfortable beds. (It was four of us, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, we had the best sleep :). Breakfast choice was amazing and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommended, would not hesitate to stay again on our travels. Thank you.

Everything is super good. Staff, smooth check in process (we arrived at 11 in night) , breakfast options and how they served is cherry on the top. Rooms are really big. We booked 3 rooms with 6 adults and 4 kids, after looking at their sizes and facilities we felt that we booked 1 extra.

Very clean, hosts couldn't have been more helpful, breakfast was great. Excellent facilities, lovely and warm. Easy to find. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely return.

Nothing was wrong. Everything was well catered for, and I am sure if there was anything missing, and I am sure if it was it would be fixed.

no-nonsense, but very nice room, comfortable bed and bathroom, everything in good working order. we enjoyed the terrace in the morning sun ,-) bar, breakfast and a very decent dinner ... all at yr service. and, on top of that : a very nice host is included !

Has all you need: comfort, facilities, it is quiet during the night and very good and generous breakfast.

The room was big, very clean, and quiet. We arrived late before 9 pm, but the young men in the kitchen prepared for us a nice dinner, after we were full. In the morning there was a good selection of food for breakfast. They are also very kind and helpful. I can recommend for everyone this hotel.

Friendliness, calm, space of the room, cleanliness, hot water pressure and cold beers on the terrace and tasty breakfast Staff were great with us and the kids. Highly recommended by a frequent traveller. Thanks and blessings for Effelder Bürgerstube and their staff.

fantastic couple who run this place, I was here visiting family and traveled from England, exceptional hospitality. we had to check out very early at 3am so we missed breakfast, the hosts left on our apartment door a snack bag for the road and some treats for my niece.
