I’ve stayed here before so it was my first choice when visiting Weimar again. It is within less than two minutes walk from the main station so perfectly situated for rail travel. The hotel has a very nice ambience. It dates back to the middle of the 19th Century and the architecture is pleasing. Large and airy with a very nice bar and restaurant area including a terrace with seating which is great to sit out and eat breakfast or drink a beer. The breakfast buffet is very nice with a large selection of different products and a very nice location. The restaurant food and beer is very good and reasonably priced. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is a luggage room in the foyer. There is also a nicely appointed smoking lounge off of the reception area. The town is within easy walking distance with a good deal of buses as an alternative. The staff are pleasant, helpful and friendly
No complaints. All good

We really enjoyed our 4 nights at the Kaiserin Augusta. The location just across the square from the station is very convenient. It's a fairly pleasant 15 minute walk into the centre of town, or you can hop on a bus. In many towns/cities the area around the station is dirty and seedy - this is not the case in Weimar where it is quiet and clean and pleasant. The room was spacious and comfortable, with an extra chair and table to sit by, and well designed furniture. The windows opened and there was a radiator you could control. The shower was brilliant. The foyer area of the hotel is spacious and welcoming and there was a room where we could leave our luggage until check-in time. The breakfasts were really delicious. We hadn't booked any in advance but ended up having breakfast every day. We also ate our evening meal in the hotel restaurant twice, the main courses were very good (Thüringer beef and dumplings for example), the desserts less so. The staff at the hotel were lovely. The terrace by the restaurant didn't seem to be open yet for the summer, and when we asked we were told we couldn't sit there because it hadn't been cleaned. The next morning, the same member of staff was out there with a bowl of soapy water scrubbing the tables and chairs so that we could sit out there after breakfast with our coffee. What excellent service!
Whilst the shower was brilliant, the shower tray was shallow and drained really slowly so we had to keep turning the shower off and waiting for it to drain. Even being careful, we managed to get water over the bathroom floor. (We did report this issue to the hotel.) The bathroom was quite small. Only one pillow each and they were very insubstantial (this seems to be the norm in Germany).

Good location right opposite the train station and with convenient public transport to the city center. However, if you do not have city pass or Deutschland ticket it wouldn’t be as convenient to visit the city center.
Hand soap in my room ran out before I moved in, there was also no hygiene bags for disposal of menstrual products, which was a bit awkward (there was a plastic bag in the trash bin though, so I didn’t ask for hygiene bags). Room was a bit too hot (no air conditioning), they provided a fan which worked but was quite noisy.

Great location in the beautiful city of Weimar. It is an old hotel, but well maintained. We travelled with our small dog and were given a dog friendly room. It wasn’t very modern but we paid a good price for the room. Nevertheless we had to pay €20 extra for the dog and the parking was steep as well. But if you arrive by train, the Bahnhof is opposite the hotel and we f you don’t bring your pooch, the hotel is very reasonable.
No kettle, no coffee facilities. Dog and parking is extra.

The location in relation to the cost of the stay. It is basically located right in front of the Weimar Train station, allowing you access to other nearby cities such as Jena and Erfurt. The re are also several buses that go to the city center.
Choice of restaurants for eating was very limited. There was either one nearby restaurant with not-so-friendly staff or a McDonald's by the train station.

Location was excellent just north of the city centre next to the railway statíon. Staff was friendly and it was also easy to park at a reasonable cost. The rooms are up to standard with excellent beds and pillows. Carpets on the floor, but they were anyway clean. The reception and dining area is a little bit old, but anyway charming. Breakfast was better than expected - good value for money.

It is a beautiful hotel with lovely rooms. The restaurant is beautiful. I stayed here in 1992, May and November 2024. I always look for a hotel near the train station so the location is perfect for me
The bed this time was too hard. I found a solution by sleeping on the extra comforter or duvet in the closet

Staff friendly and helpful. Good sized room and bathroom. Very good choice at breakfast. We had an evening meal which was very enjoyable especially when you could request smaller portions. Parking is available. Buses stop frequently outside the hotel but if, like us, you like to walk, it only takes 10 minutes to reach the shops and cafes.

The room was well furnished and fully functional. The city center is easily reachable by bus or even by walking. The hotel has a good restaurant with reasonable prices.
There was no air conditioning in the room. I suppose that the room can be very hot in summer, however we did not have this problem. We arrived late in the night, and the person at the reception spoke rather limited English, so we had some problems in communicating. The following days we had no such problem, however.

The hotel is located very conveniently next to the railway station. The vicinity of my room was very quiet, allowing one to vent the room at night. The reception staff are friendly, some very much so. Room prices appear to be relatively stable, perhaps my trip didn't fall into a very busy period though.
The cleaning staff had no command of either German or English to the degree that I could communicate with them (I didn't speak their language)
