Comfortable room, good central location. Something in between likes and dislikes is the breakfast. It was decent, both in terms of variety and quality.

The central location seems to suffer from a more city-wide problem: there are a lot of junkies in the city center and around the central station. This means they are also around the hotel, perhaps also within the premises, as the lobby is on the second floor, while the entrance on the street level is just a large, unattended hallway with some elevators. We encountered a strange man who really wanted to get us in the elevator with him, being borderline creepy insistent.

The usual good standard of a Holiday Inn Express at reasonable prices. Room was comfortable and reasonable size. Good breakfast choice, although busy if you came late at the weekend. Excellent location in the centre of town, handy for monorail station, main station and bus station, as well as all the shops and restaurants in the centre.

The car park was full both nights of our stay, even when we arrived at 5:30. There's no way to book this in advance nor to know if full until driving up to it. Description should make clear parking is very limited, and a bit of a lottery. The alternative public car park is only 2 minutes walk away but an 8-minute complicated drive around the one-way system, and not well signposted. It also costs 19 Euro (12 at hotel), and Sunday morning there was no way to get out except press the "help" button at the exit.

The rooms have a lot of useful amenities, despite the very small size. The hotel and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast at the hotel is excellent and there is a lot of choice. The staff at the restaurant are very nice, welcoming, and ready to help with anything. The lobby bar is nice to sit at as well, to have a coffee or a beer. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is basically in the center of the town and a 2 minute walk away from the main train station.

Rooms and beds are very small. We booked 2 rooms, one for 3 and one for 4 adults, but it feels like a ripoff because 4 adults couldn't possibly fit comfortably in the room or beds. Upon notifying the staff at the reception that we received two same rooms despite the fact that one is booked for 4 and the other for 3, the answer was that we were supposed to predict by looking at the photos upon booking, and that it was our fault for booking something that doesn't suit us. Some of the staff at the reception were very unpleasant and not at all eager to find a solution. Upon asking to get another room where 2 adults would move, we got offered a room but at a despicable price, which honestly felt offending.

We were very pleased with our experience. The hotel was close to the trainstation and was easy to find. The personel were friendly and helpful. The room had a great view. It was clean had no foul smell but also no chemical airfreshner oder. The bedsheets and towels were fresh and clean. Brand name refreshments ( tea and coffee) as well as soap and shampoo were also provided. The rooms and commun areas had A/C which was very appreciated on the these hot summer days. Although our room was looking on to the main street, suspended tramway and railways the windows were soundproof and we had a good night sleep. Anything you might need for your business or leasure travels were found. The breakfast was not extravagant but delicious and multiple varieties were present.

The carpet had a few stains which were esthetically not very pleasing to the eyes but had absolutly no smell so we did not mind it much.

Overnight stop just to see & ride on the schwebebahn railway. Didn't want or expect much from the H I express but was surprisingly impressed. Great location, friendly staff, very well appointed room (especially for the price), great bed & importantly a great shower with excellent temperature and water pressure. Breakfast was also quite expansive & fresh. Would definitely stay here again.

The room size was a little on the compact side but still ok for 2 people with O/S luggage - for the price & location, very acceptable.

In an excellent location, just a couple of blocks next to eg train station so you can easily stay there and see the other cities- even stay there and travel back and forth in Dusseldorf. It was sparkling clean, with 24h reception, all very polite, and you get the feeling of relaxation and safety. There was a buffet breakfast, which was rich with fresh baked croissant and bread, juices and coffee ( which you can take away for starting your day if you wish! Very convenient as an option! A very nice hotel to stay in good price and with all the amenities in this price.

Not as a negative, just as a comment. The breakfast buffet lacked warm options - sausages, bacon, fried eggs. There were boiled eggs but being in Germany some sausages for breakfast would be more than nice. It was generous and it was open for many hours which was helpful. The TV had some issues of connectivity and at times stopped receiving image and there was black screen - in most if not all channels.

The location was ok,the staff were friendly, solution solving,kind and available.

All was ok except the breakfast. As compared to my last visit to this same hotel,the breakfast is now very limited,not much options, especially the orange juice is being diluted with water.

Booking com identified my room as a room with sightseen, however the hotel personnel were surprised saying that they dont have this category of rooms. Obviously, i got the room with the windows looking at the next door building Breakfast is a bit poor. The scramble eggs and beacon were overcooked all three days i stayed there.

Great location, check out and check in were fast. Breakfast was also included. Room was relatively spacious, modern and clean.

Housekeeping timing could be better. On our first day, housekeeping came around 8.30 am. They asked politely and we agreed they'll come back later. We left the hotel around 11 am, with a sign saying "ready for housekeeping". The room wasn't cleaned when we returned that night. Housekeeping was fine the following day Breakfast spread was lacking warm food, the only warm thing was pancake and hard boiled eggs.
