Stayed here for one night, everything was great. The location is exceptional - 1 minute walk from the Essen hbf and right in front of the legendary Wuppertal monorail station. The front desk manager was super friendly and helpful. Amenities in the room were fine, bed sheets were clean, the shower cabin was just a bit outdated though. It was also a bit stuffy in the room, as it is not air conditioned, but the classic open window helped a lot (the subtle sounds of arriving monorails really didn't bother me at all). I didn't get the breakfast rate, so can't say anything about it. Overall I can recommend this hospitable place.

The location was very good. The main purpose of my visit was to see the Schwebebahn and it was next door. Convenient also for bars and cafes and the main DB station. The room was clean and comfortable. 24 hour reception meant easy access at all times. Staff very friendly and understood that my German speaking is a bit limited.

Slightly confused over breakfast . It seem to be on offer for ~£14 but the dining room was empty . maybe it is something that you have to book in advance but I wasn't clear on the instructions. Just a minor comment - it did not cause any problems as there are many cafes, delicatessens and bakeries nearby.

Second time at Hotel Astor, It's an older hotel, but they had done some refurbishment since the first time. Beds are fine, everything is fine, as long as you know it's older and appreciate their effort to keep the place nice. Don't forget to visit the Wuppertal Zoo on one end of the Schwebebahn track, near the stadium.

We expected daycards for the Schwebebahn as was the first time, but they couldn't provide these now since the prices had gone up. And the hotel is cheap and perfect as is. To get the daycards (4 persons) we bought them in the Schwebebahn station for about 14 Euro's (total price for group of 4)

I paid for breakfast for 6 days by mistake. I never eat breakfast. I wasted my extra money Hotel perfect location for train

Absolutely great localization, I guess, the best in Wuppertal. In the pedestrian area, Monorail station in 5 m, Rilway and bus stations in 100 m. .Rooms are all in white, simply equipped, but with all that is needed and clean, The bed is comfortable. the breakfast is fine, the personnel is friendly and helpful.

Coffee mashine might have worked bette during a breakfast time

Fantastic place, with wonderful displays about the history of the city and the famous Schwebebahn! Very well located for city centre and railway station, and the Schwebebahn.

Clean. Comfortable rooms. Close to station, city centre and right opposite the schwebelbahn. Nice touches like fruit and coffee in the room.

I am very happy with my stay at Hotel Astor! Superb Location, Supporting staff, Clean Room. Very comfortable for the business traveler. The train station is like at a Door step! Well placed! right close to restaurants, mall and all day to day shops. I will surely re-visit this hotel in near future.

Great value for money here! The hotel is located at walking distance to the Hauptbahnhof, the Wuppertal Schwebebahn and the center of the town. The rooms are simple but really clean. There is an extensive breakfast buffet included in the room price. Which is really great for this price! Staff is very friendly and helpful with questions.
