This is a really good value place for a short stay in the area. It's not in the city centre but that's fine. The area is peaceful and safe and there's a Aldi supermarket and great bakery/coffee shop almost next door. The Schwebebahn for local transport is just two minutes away and the Sonnborn S-bahn station for direct trains to Dusseldorf and connections to Koln is about 6 minutes (up a hill).

The place is quite old fashioned and dated - feels very 1980s, but that's not really a problem at the price. The floor of my room sloped quite a lot so it was quite disorientating. With the window open there was a lot of traffic noise as the highway is just behind, but it was totally silent when closed. The bathroom was clean, but old and the shower wasn't great - water alternating hot and cold and quite low pressure. All in all, just minor things and not really probelms.

Great accommodation for an amazing price. The room was almost too spacious, decently shaded, very white with a renovated vibe, clean spotlessly, with luxuriously looking new showers and toilet. I felt spoiled. :) The windows have pretty good shades to close off the street lamps. The communication with the staff was good, checkin super fast, self-checkout without hassle. While the hotel is located in the outskirts of Wuppertal, the main street of Sonnborn is picturesque (and not too noisy from the traffic), the Schwebebahn stop is a few steps away and in 10 minutes one can be in the center of the town. The day tickets are quite reasonably priced - so there is no reason for overpaying to stay in the louder city center. Regional trains stop is 15 minutes up/down hill away. The best accommodation so far this year.

The Schwebebahn monorail passes by the window (to the street) of the first floor room. This may by an annoyance until 11PM and from 6AM. But it can be addressed with closed window (luckily the room was large enough not to get stale by the morning) and earplugs. Maybe smaller key-decor, so that the key fits in the mailbox upon self-checkout. :)

It is a classic hotel. You would feel you have stepped back in time in a classic room at an ancient hotel next to the famous Wuppertal monorail. There was a great cafe bakery nearby where people were smiling and friendly. I loved this hotel!

I would need more blankets for the first night as it was cold. Also a hanger in the shared bathroom would help

friendly staff, the hotel is cosy, I had en-suite, excellent shower, comfortable bed, my room faced the back, so it was quiet. One does hear the world famous mono -rail, but so what? One can hear traffic almost everywhere in towns. It's a great location, shops nearby and the monorail station in walking distance, one gets quickly into the town centre.

No frills place on the outskirts of Wuppertal. Essential shopping and dining facilities nearby. Access to the famous suspension monorail is just a few steps away. Free P+R parking around the corner, just stay away from the monitored ALDI parking next to it.

The shower didn't have any hot water, even after a few minutes of priming. With it being a very hot summer, it was no big deal. Yet I hope it will be better for travelers during winter months.

it's a fabulous little hotel, very close to the Monorai, die Unesco Schwebebahn. Shops and Cafe very close, and a park, the zoo etc. I had a lovely little en-suite, comfortable bed, all clean, good shower. It's my 3rd stay and hopefully not the last. Always Hotel Schwaferts!

Quite close to the Schwebebahn (metro of Wuppertal) station, with regular service to Wuppertal city centre and Vohwinkel (trolleybus to Sollingen or Vohwinkel train station). No food options, but the breakfast at the nearby pretzel place is quite good. Not too many rooms sharing a bathroom and enough space in the room for a comfortable stay. Room also has its own sink, which is good.

Not exactly in the centre, but well connected to it and value for money.

Helpful staff, great location close to a Schwebebahn station, excellent value. I got a free upgrade to a room with its own bathroom. The staff were happy to look after my bags for a while after I checked out.

Sound insulation was not great and you need to provide your own soap. But by no means a deal-breaker.

Not too far to walk from the local train station and very close to the monorail station. The area felt safe and convenient with cafes and a supermarket nearby. I arrived early but the man at reception was very welcoming and I was able to have my room early. The room was clean and comfortable. I came to see the famous monorail and it passed in front of my bedroom window so I had a great view of it! Fortunately it doesn't run all night and noise was not a problem.

Room was very clean. Nor exactly in the city center but it's very close to Schwebebahn. S bahn station is also not far away. check in was fast and simple.

Like another has said. Hot water jumps between boiling and cold water. Shower head should be fixed too
