Beach is non-existent but we were going by car to Pydna every day which is probably five minutes away. There is a sandy beach and shallow water with no big waves. View is amazing, september sunrises were fantastic - and the balcony is facing east so that was just too much... We had dinner once, they literally opened the kitchen for us when we came back late - no fussing or nagging just made exceptional dinner - I must say that Greek salad was the best I ever tasted (and I am visiting Greece for 30 years). Staff was really nice and helpful. What was shocking is that they change towels every day!!! And if you are not in the room they also clean it every day.

Feels like everybody is smoking - that is not very nice at 7 in the morning right under your balcony. Showers are kinda small - but we didn't care about it that much.

This is my 4th time at Achillon. If I need a place to hide away, to relax and write, this is my favorite spot in the world. A room looking out at the Aegean (must book it instead of the garden side) brings the sea breezes onto the balcony (with table and chairs) and into the room. It was 90+F each day and I only turned the AC on once. Plus, sitting on the patio drinking wine in the afternoon and eating in the restaurant in the evening. Absolutely delightful! Paradise!

A nice old 'family' hotel. An early 1970's property pretty well looked after. Run by generations of the same family. We didn't eat there other than breakfast, but we are foodies and we can attest to the high level of the cooking by the smells and the look of the plates coming out of the kitchen (there is a restaurant onsite. We only had a small request at breakfast, which was met to our utmost delight and satisfaction. The hotel's location is unbeatable. RIGHT on the water. We had a 'mountain' view (i.e. in the back of the hotel, not sea view) which we preferred because the front faces east and we don't like getting up by the sunlight. Ask for Mountain View. It is more private. Makrygialos is a very well kept area and the hotel's spot will make us come back to it whenever we can find availability on our way to Macedonia.

We had a very small room, it was kind of hard to move around. In retrospect, this was more of less the size of rooms in most Greek hotels up until the early 2000's when newer, more sizable and up to date construction of accommodations begun. So, we should have expected a small room...

I was surprised how clean was hotel since it is just a 2* hotel. The view from the room is beautiful. It is close to the highway so it is a good choice if you wanna visit Thessaloniki and you wanna have a cheap room.

It is a general problem in hotels that you can hear everything from the corridor, doors are very thin. I would be happy to see a fully framed door so it seals the noise. Below the door, it is approx. 1 cm opening so even people talking in the corridor you can hear it. We were happy that the noise was just in the morning for a few minutes.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the location is excellent, the people are nice , professional and helpful, the apartment is comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and the hotel restaurant was pleasant and comfortable. The hotel has its own parking lot, which is spacious and safe

The WiFi was good only in one room and almost unreachable in the other room, the terrace and the balcony. There was no beach in front of the hotel, but a couple of minutes along the beautiful promenade there are quite nice beaches, so that's not a real disadvantage.

We have used it for years as a transit hotel while traveling in Greece. We don't have a lot of expectations from it, the location is perfect because the sea view sets the perfect start for the holiday. We don't spend a lot of time in the room, we rarely had breakfast there, so it's OK for us. The position of the village, the quiet spot of the street, the total view of the sea, the breeze are what makes us come back.

It needs a lot of mending and replacements all over it... it's outdated. But still OK for transit!

Great location - we selected a sea view room and it totally worth it - we watched the sunrise from the balcony. Quiet place where you can listen to the waves when you fall asleep. Great air conditioning - it becomes very hot because of the east-facing room, but it is comfortable when you turn it on. Clean room and bathroom. There is a parking space for your car. Polite and responsive staff. The town does not have a (good) beach - we visited T.Ammos Beach in Methoni - it was nearby and great; fine sand, sub beds, warm sea water and a good bar for refreshments and lunch.

The room door is old and not sound-proof.

Excellent location, couldn't be better. The village is not big and everything is within 5-10 minutes walking distance. The hotel is old but has its charm with eighties style and decorations. The restaurant in the hotel is very good. The staff is attentive but unobtrusive. The mattresses are very comfortable, the size of the rooms is big enough. There is a very convenient parking lot behind the hotel. I would be happy to visit the hotel again. The accommodation price is fair.

Since the hotel is not new, it has certain weaknesses. The shower does not work correctly, probably in most rooms. The doors of the rooms are old and for this reason the soundproofing in the rooms is bad. Must be made "Do not disturb" signs placed in the rooms to avoid unsolicited visits from the maids in the morning!!! Because of this, the objective rating of the hotel should be between 7 and 8, but the overall impression of the hotel and the village is excellent and therefore I will give it the highest rating.

The room was big, including a separate bedroom and had 2 big balconies, one of witch had a splendid sea view. It was clean (maybe a little more attention to details - like cleaning the remote control from the air conditioning - it was very dirty). The food at the restaurant was delicios and really afordable price.

The furniture was a little dated. Also there were no glasses in the room. It is a little far from the beach (there is no beach in front of the hotel, the sea is high). All in all, it is ok for a 1-2 nights stop.

The room was clean, the cleaning ladies have been cleaning the room each day. The room was as it was booked, looking at the sea. All in all quite nice, this was our second year here.

Only one person from the dinning restaurant, it was the same last year, not very pleasent - older fellow. There was a certain group of tourists and they always had a privilage before other guests which was not nice since for our money we should get better treatment. As for the fisherman, since this is fisherman town, they are throwing the nets near the shore every night and they are scaring the fish to catch in those nets by hitting the boats with wooden sticks, the hitting lasts for couple of hours and it is always after midnight and you can hardly get any decent sleep.
