Everything about Porolithos was magical. Katerina, the owner and host, helped us arrange transfer to and from the airport for a reasonable rate. She helped us with tips, made restaurant reservations, arranged a rental car, and greeted us with a smile every day. Breakfast was phenomenal every morning, freshly cooked with both hot items and fresh fruit and juices. Her and her family restored the 14th century building and run the hotel. The location is quiet but just steps away from restaurants and all that the old town has to offer. I will plan my next trip to Rhodes around availability at this hotel.

From the time we entered this unique hotel you could feel the warm welcome from Katrina and Zafeiris. Every detail that made this boutique hotel was made with love it’s something I’ve never experienced before. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed . Breakfast was another unique experience served in a courtyard and made every morning by Katrina. It was the perfect place for my daughter and I to stay and enjoy our time together and make beautiful memories and most of all meet beautiful people that love and care with what they do.

There was nothing I could fault. Everything was perfect

We took public transport from the airport for a few euros (you can use your phone to pay with tap and go). Ride takes about 30-40 minutes. It puts you off in the middle of Rhodes Town. From there it was a 15 minute walk to the property. We use only backpacks to travel. If you are carting a suitcase, you should contact Katerina, the owner of the property, about arranging transportation. We travel a lot and had a difficult time finding the property because of Rhodes’ twisty-turny streets. You will be walking over some cobblestone streets and walkways and pulling luggage might not be the best. Once you find the door for the property (there are signs on the walls that you will see), ring the buzzer. Katerina was a supremely welcoming host. We were greeted with water and figs. She sat us down to go over the property and things to do in Rhodes. She provided a very helpful map of the entire island and Rhodes Town. She sent us a text with many recommended sites and restaurants. Finally, she checked with us about any food allergies so her provided breakfast would not be any trouble. She showed us to our room describing the renovations that had taken place to make the ancient building into her beautiful boutique property. We had a problem with one of our sightseeing tours we booked, and Katerina spoke to the tour representative on the phone to help us straighten it all out. She even told us if we were going to buy any expensive souvenirs, to call her and she would get us a better price. You really feel like you are staying in an ancient stone castle. The room preserved much of the old construction while updating it with a very comfortable bed & pillows, plenty of lights, a safe, a cold A/C, a mini fridge, and a nice bathroom with a big shower. There were waters, a beer, and a couple of snacks provided. I had forgotten we had paid for breakfast. And, wow, what a surprise.

Nothing was wrong about this property.

The property has been beautifully restored. Tasteful decor and accents. In the middle of Old Town within walking distance of historical sights and tons of shops and food. The owners are sweet and thoughtful people who go the distance to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is amazing including local produce, eggs, breads, yogurt with toppings, & beverages. All delivered and displayed with detail to your alfresco dining table. Communication was perfect and prompt. They even arranged a transport to the airport and sent us off with a souvenir to remember our time with them. I highly recommend Porolithos!

The whole hotel and our experience staying there was brilliant. From the booking stage the contact we had with the host was easy and really informative. Even before we had arrived they were offering to help with arranging transfers from and to the hotel. The hotel is located within the old town of Rhodes. It is in a nice and quiet area but still only a minute walk to the nearest square and it is very close to plenty of shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is a renovated house and stables and it is absolutely stunning, the owners had done an incredible job in renovating it. The host Katerina was very welcoming on our arrival, giving us some traditional greek treats and giving us a very informative history of Rhodes Town. Katerina provided us a long list of recommended restaurants to try in the area and gave us great advice on what to do during our stay. Every restaurant we visited was recommended by Katerina and every single one was amazing Our hotel room was very clean and beautifully designed. The bathroom was huge and the bed/pillows was very comfortable! We were provided with a mini fridge free of charge, as well as plenty of toiletries, including plenty of items other places wouldn't provide, including earplugs. The hotels water was filtered which allowed us to refill water bottles and cool them overnight in the fridge for the next day The breakfast was a traditional home cooked greek breakfast, every morning it was fantastic. The breakfast was always light but definitely filled you up for the day! It quickly became a part of the day I looked forward to! Katerina was happy to answer any questions we had no matter what time of day. We got to meet the family running the hotel, and they were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Our stay was only short but the hotel was a highlight of our stay in Rhodes. It is a hotel with plenty of greek character and charm, beautiful designed and is run by a wonderful family! We cannot wait to return!

I liked that the boutique Hotel was nested in a quiet part of the medieval city that was very walkable. Upon booking my room I was contacted by the host Katerina Koskina who was able to arrange a taxi to drop me off at the hotel in the medieval part of the city that has limited vehicle access. upon arrival Katerina gave me very accurate restaurant recommendations (Stavlos - grill restaurant was my favorite!). I was able to effectively communicate with the host through WhatsApp setting up my breakfast time, tour guide as well as my return time by taxi to the airport. I stayed in the spacious superior suite with my own private patio where I had my morning coffee and sumptuous breakfast enjoying the view of the restored medieval walls.

What an amazing experience! It is a true privilege to be able to sleep and stay where the Knights of Old once laid their heads. This was all made possible by our hosts, Katerina and Zafeiris who purchased and renovated the property to its present exceptional state. We deliberately chose the smallest room (we think) because of the stone arched ceiling. While small it was still super comfortable with everything we could need. Breakfast was likewise amazing and definitely enough to see us through to dinner. Everything was fresh and tasty. Rhodes Old Town is a place we would highly recommend everyone sees when visiting Rhodes. The history is tangible and one is unlikely to see locations such as the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights in such pristine condition after all of this time. To return to Porolithos, the secret ingredient to make the stay as amazing as it was is the obvious love that both Kristina and Zafeiris have for their property, city and country and their desire to share that with their guests. Nothing is too much trouble. We are so lucky to have found the hotel and to meet them. It will remain the highlight of our stay on Rhodes.

There is nothing about Porolithos that we did not like. What we learned however, is that getting to the hotel if one is dropped off at one of the gates of the old town is or can be a struggle if one has a fair amount of luggage. That was the case with us however upon leaving we accepted Katerina's offer to arrange transportation to the airport and hence we were picked up by electric buggy at the hotel and driven to the gate where we transferred to the taxi she arranged. It may have been a little more expensive but, if one is loaded with luggage, it is highly recommended to accept Katerina's offer to arrange transportation both ways.

Quite frankly this hotel is being perfectly presented by Katerina, Zafeiris and Dimitri with attention to every detail. It is a property within the UNESCO walled town of Rhodes that has been lovingly restored by them. Its location is perfect for the port, the harbour and for boat trips to the likes of Symi. Katerina took the time to give advice for restaurants within walking distance to local delicious Greek food and was on hand for any advice required. This adoring place needs to be visited because really it is a perfect ten!!

Nothing at all it’s perfect!

The location was perfectly situated right in the heart of the Old Town. The hotel was charming and historic and exactly as pictured. Our hosts were amazing, helpful and so attentive. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to go back. Breakfast was delicious and served outside every morning to a time that suited. They organised our boat trip to Marmaris and also our car hire. They also gave us an extensive list of recommendations for restaurants and attractions.

It was perfect, couldn't fault the hotel or location.

The best boutique experience we've had!! The owner of the house Katrina is a really charming, pleasant and helpful woman. She welcomed us with a tray of water and sweets. She gave us very worthwhile recommendations to visit the city and the island in general. The best service I have ever received. Very personal but also considerate of personal space and privacy. The location is right in the heart of the old city, close to everything but also very quiet and pleasant. The mattress in the bed is really, really comfortable!! Comfortable pillows and pleasant bedding. The rooms are decorated to a high standard, the whole hotel is a preserved building that has been lovingly renovated. And the breakfast is simply excellent at a high level! The experience was excellent, highly recommended! You can't fall in a hotel like this, just success!!
