View and corner suite room. Location- ocean view, mountains, water falls. Heated floors. Dinner- seafood soup, grilled char, cocktails. Late night cocktail options. Northern lights wake up call. Breakfast- extensive options- a good mix between American and Iceland’s cuisine.

Majority of staff very accommodating and highly professional. I did have a single interaction with someone from the kitchen when I tried to clarify the end time for breakfast. He a very abrupt, harsh response when sliding the sign in front of me and replayed, “it says 10 o’clock!” To be fair breakfast was 07-10:00. I showed up to the buffet at 10:10, thinking breakfast ended at 11.

Amazing food, bar and restaurant service was exceptional. Atmosphere was great. They also give you a wake up call if the northern lights are seen from the hotel. There is a spa/sauna gym and also a fridge and kettle in your room ( not common in Iceland we have found). They also sell snacks and yoghurt/skyr in the reception area if you want a quick bite. Room was lovely and very comfortable. Would recommend and would stay here again. It was really busy when we came and we were fortunate to have pre booked diner at the restaurant as it was fully booked when we arrived. I would recommend pre booking dinner

Nothing - it was fabulous

An amazing suite with a super comfortable bed, a great shower and tasteful furniture. Nice view, especially in the morning looking at the sunrise from your bed. Probably the best breakfast I’ve had in any hotel, ever. Excellent good dinner in the restaurant as well for very reasonable prices. Dinner and breakfast had a lot of lactose free options which I loved.

Considering how much money we paid (over 500 euros a night for two nights) I think it’s ridiculous that there’s no free electric car charging and getting one small bag of laundry done costs over 30 euros. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so when we wanted to eat somewhere else on the second evening we had to drive for over an hour to the closest town. I think you probably should only stay here for one night, for which it’s perfect.

The hotel is well located for the glacier lagoon. It’s a 20-25 minute drive to the lagoon but there aren’t many other hotels in the area, so this is a good one to use as a base. The building and the rooms are lovely; very high quality in an understated way. The staff were very welcoming and consistently helpful with any questions we had during our stay. The hotel restaurant is excellent. Breakfast had a good variety of different food, hot and cold. The dinner menu is also very good and we were happy to eat there each evening. WiFi was quick and reliable. Recommended.

There’s not much to not like. It is surprising that the tv did not have access to streaming services or allow for screen mirroring from other devices, which would have been nice. The main outdoor areas (the balcony in the bar area and the outdoor hot tub area) were dominated by people smoking/vaping, which meant we didn’t enjoy those as much as we might have.

This was the only stay we had in Iceland that was modern (despite many 3 and 4 star bookings), in terms of properly ventilated rooms and climate control, quality beds and bedding, and nice bathrooms. If I could do my trip again I would tour the island staying at the FossHotel chain. The cost was about 40% over our typical 3 star rooms in Iceland, but we felt it was more than worth it. The breakfast was beautiful, and we had one dinner in the restaurant which was worth the price. We used the sauna and hot tub area and appreciated that it provides towels, showers, extra soaps, etc. Parking is a breeze here as well.

We had an in-room fridge but it didn't work. I think it actually warmed up our yogurt and fruit. It's worth knowing that there are absolutely no shops, restaurants, or services of any kind within walking distance. However, with a car, you are close to good hiking areas and not too far from a town with services. I would give it a higher rating but Iceland is so expensive the value for money proposition knocks it down a notch or two.

- Exterior design of the hotel is nice and the hotel is located in nice place with nice views. Unfortunately we had a parking side view. - Room in general was comfortable. Good bed and shower.

- The hotel is quite expensive but not worth its money. We stayed in few Fosshotels around Iceland and we liked others more. - Classic chain hotel. Too crowdy. It reminded me atmosphere of an airport. - We had Nespresso coffee machine at the room but coffee was not good. - The was no heater or drier in the room so we couldn’t dry our clothes. - Quality of breakfast was not good enough. Some food was cold and there was only basic selection of food.

Hotel location is great. Perfect if you want to visit the glacier lagoon and do a boat tour which we did. The decor is gorgeous, we even asked where the light fittings were from. The hot tubs were perfect for relaxing and we also took advantage of the happy hour as the bar is large and comfortable with great views. The restaurant has too and the food was excellent. Not cheap but high quality. Room was quite small but comfortable and had a nice bathroom.

The only the downside is the cost. We only had the standard room with no view and it was £280 for one night. Breakfast would have been £27 each so we bought skyr pots in the small shop in hotel reception. Feels like they are taking advantage of the fact that the options in the area are limited.

The location was well placed, 20mins from Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. Breakfast was excellent- good variety of food and very good quality. Views from the restaurant were amazing. Dinner was also good. I liked the spa which was free for guests along with the gym (although I didn't use that). We had 2 interconnecting rooms which was great with big windows to enjoy the view.

The bed didn't automatically come with mattress toppers as they have done in the other hotels we stayed in and the mattress was too hard for a good night's sleep for me. The next day I asked for a mattress topper (provided free of charge) and sleep improved after this, but it would have been better to have had this comfort from the start.

Beautifully located between the Atlantic Ocean and Vatnajökull glacier, the hotel offers stunning scenery and a quiet, remote feel. The design is modern and stylish, rooms are clean and comfortable with cozy beds, and the large parking area is convenient. The spa is excellent, featuring outdoor hot tubs and a sauna with views of the wilderness. Just a short 100-meter walk from the hotel, there is a charming, secluded waterfall with a small trail leading to it - a romantic and peaceful spot that most visitors seem to overlook. In general, there are several scenic hiking routes in the immediate area. It’s also a great base for glacier exploration - Höfn is about 1 hour east, and Vík is less than 2 hours west. Breakfast offers a wide selection, and the hotel's cleanliness is excellent. A great hotel overall, though I feel the current 9.0 rating is a bit generous - something closer to 8.8 would be more accurate.

Rooms can get too warm in sunny weather, as there’s no AC and ventilation is limited. While the staff is generally friendly and professional, they do not go above and beyond — they do their job efficiently, but without much enthusiasm or personal engagement. Breakfast variety is good, but product quality is average (it’s adequate, but not memorable). Lastly, while the hotel is visually appealing, it lacks a personal or distinctive touch. The design feels more like that of a standardized chain hotel, which makes it slightly less atmospheric than some smaller, independent properties in Iceland.

Room was quite hot upon arrival but the beds were comfortable and were setup with robes and slippers on each. Luckily there was a small fan that we kept on at all times and opened all of the windows possible. The shades kept the room dark overnight while the sunlight remained. We used the robes and slippers to visit the outdoor hot tubs which had quite lovely views, while being blocked from the main Rd 1. We had pre-purchased the breakfast which was quite lovely. Tea kettles are available upon request, although we were told one would be there within minutes and after 30min went back out to check and it had been forgotten. Our room was quite close to the reception/bar which I was concerned about noise, however it was very quiet and no issue. There was a nice window seat in the room with beautiful views toward the ocean and mountain, across the plains. Location was great for us to be between Skaftafell and the Glacier Lagoon.
