We really liked our short stay at Grand Mercure. The staff was cordial and supportive. Both the Taj Mahal and the Fort were in the range of 3-5kms. You can also get a view of the Taj Mahal from their roof top. The rooftop has a pool as well with decent sitting space. The buffet Breakfast had a good selection of items. It's a very good hotel, what you would expect for a 4 stars hotel (I've seen 5 stars like this one too), good food, very clean, comfortable beds. It must be great in the summer at the rooftop swimming pool and bar.

It was January and it can be cold in Agra at night so the heating not working was a problem. Some staff was sent to the room to fix it but nothing happened and in the end we were given a portable heater. As most of them a bit noisy but at least it kept the room warm.

Clean and spacious room and bathroom. Little touches like water bottles, bananas in room along with shampoo etc. Bed was very comfortable. So very clean. Staff were lovely and attentive. I really liked this hotel and appreciated all it has to offer.

Housekeeing staff was forgetful. I called 4 times over 3 hours to get something that should have been in my room. Finally got it. The roof area needs to be spruced up and made more inviting. Should have instructions for operating the TV. One of the outdoor staff followed me to my car without maintaining appropriate space.

Great view of the Taj Mahal from the room. Spacious and comfortable. Lovely and helpful service staff.

Shower stopped mid flow at 10.30am on check out day, reported to main reception. Other than this we were happy with all the facilities.

Close to Taj Mahal, excellent room and breakfast, reasonable internet connectivity, friendly staff especially during breakfast time. Managed to add additional guest in the last minute easily Jaswin was very helpful in sorting out the payment card issued and further instructions.

Torn curtain and slightly slanting glass on the all on right side that resulted coffee falling off. Its not a major problem because housekeeping team member came and cleaned immediately but it could have been better if these were looked into before we were given this room

Wow! Absolutely wow, yes that's the feeling you will get as soon as you step into this hotel. First things first, Suman, Janvi and Baljinder (behind reception) were really very helpful... This hotel was ultra luxurious in the price of a budget hotel.... Me and my family were absolutely mesmerized by the overall experience.... They had a birthday cake kept already for my wife when we checked into the room (no extra cost).... Epitome of customer service... Thanks team wish to see you all again soon!!!

Everything was just marvelous

Clean vibrant posh hotel that’s a perfect proximity to the Taj Mahal! The room service and restaurant there is outstanding! If you have dietary restrictions you can’t find some more helpful caring and kind than Preshante! We had such good food there including biryani and gold leaf burgers! The massages there at the spa are great too. Thanks very much Grand Mercure!! Last thing I’ll mention is that the marble shop in the hotel has the best products and the best prices. Do not be fooled by others shops claiming their product is the best and charging you double!

Having to ask for more of the thin rolls of toilet paper initially provided is a bit inconvenient.

Classy hotel. Beautiful Taj facing room - comfortable bed and settee. Bathroom had a proper shower cubicle so no overflow of water into the rest of the bathroom. Choice of restaurants - we had two nice Italian meals in Bello Restaurant as a change from having eaten only Indian food for three weeks. I also had a lovely river sole meal in the main restaurant. Nice cappuccino and cold coffee and cakes in the coffee shop on the ground floor. Efficient laundry service.

Some difficulty communicating in English. Two face flannels were provided in the room on the first night. The one I used was taken away the next day so I used the remaining one, which was taken away the next morning. No amount of explanation could get anyone to understand that I wanted another. I was eventually given two guest towels.

Lovely attractive hotel, very nice rooms (got given an upgrade), staff very attentive. Good range of facilities, although we did not use many. Range of restaurants including rooftop bar. Close to Taj Mahal, and evidently has a view from the hotel - unfortunately we had fog.

All ok, except a 40 minute wIt for our dinner - it had obviously been forgotten, as after requests it arrived but tepid. In fairness, other diners seem to be doing ok, we were just overlooked in the rush (some big tours staying there). Not much in area, but that is Agra.

Staff were not adequately trained and were too focussed on feedback rather than ensuring guests service. At both meals we ate in the restaurant we were approached far too many times to ask if everything was ok and then at each meal on more than one occasion we were approached specifically to ask us to give good feedback. In one occasion whilst eating a QR code was held in front of me to ask me to complete a TripAdvisor review there and then! This is not what I want to do whilst eating a meal on holiday with friends!
