The Grand Imperial is a beautiful heritage hotel where you step into another era. The charm and elegance of the past are truly present, especially in the spacious rooms decorated with antique furniture. However, the property could use more attention to detail especially in the restaurant area, which feels a bit neglected. That said, the overall atmosphere is fascinating and unique. The staff in very friendly and helpful. Everything is very clean. The swimmingpool is very nice but again more maitainance overall. The location is excellent: just over 20 minutes by taxi to the Taj Mahal. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it.

Better maintenance in some details.

The Grand Imperial is a wonderfully located hotel that offers a truly unique experience, steeped in history and heritage. The moment you step onto the property, you're surrounded by the grandeur of a bygone era, with architecture and ambiance that make it clear you're staying somewhere special. The staff were friendly and helpful, accommodating all of our needs with ease and ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay. Our room was particularly interesting, full of character and historical charm. While I found it a little dark and would have appreciated more natural light, the overall atmosphere was peaceful and incredibly quiet, perfect for a restful night. The bed was very comfortable, and despite a bit of confusion with the (many) light switches and a coldish shower in the evening, the morning shower was excellent and I had a good nights sleep. One standout moment came from the restaurant where my friend declared their egg curry the best he had ever had in his life, which is no small praise! Though we didn’t use the swimming pool, it looked inviting and well-maintained. The hotel also helped us with transport arrangements, and everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. If you're looking for a stay in Agra that offers character, history, and a touch of intrigue, I would definitely recommend The Grand Imperial. It's a memorable stop that gives you more than just a place to sleep, it gives you a story to take with you.

Nothing to add.

We liked the Pool at the property. Rooms were spacious as well. Staff at the restaurant & reception were helpful. Didn't get to try the breakfast but restaurant at the property is pretty good and quality of the food is decent according to the price value. We enjoyed that there was a wedding present at the property and the decoration added to the esthetic of the hotel. Hotel was very accommodating for the car parking.

We asked for the Upgrade and the request was fulfilled during check in however our upgrade wasn't able to last our whole stay. It was a bit frustrating to be downgraded and move everything.

Built in 1905, the Imperial is the place to stay in Agra. Not only is it a faithful remnant of the glory and splendour of British India, it affords insulation from the frenzied street environment. So clean you can stroll it's huge verandahs in bare feet. Impeccable staff culture, fine people. The chamber rooms are extraordinary, inside 30cm thick Lakhori (ex-Lahore Indus Vally brick style) walls and double door sets, 4.5m ceilings, brass fittings. The restaurant reminds of The Shining, a trip back in time. A special thanks to Nandini, the office manager.

No complaints from this very experienced Indophile.

Stunning hotel with a great ambience. Staff, food and room decor were amazing. We were greeted with the flower garlands and bindis and made to feel like this was a home from home. Neha and her lively colleague on reception ( sorry forgotten name) even did mehendi on mine and my daughters hands for a small fee with a beautiful design and shade that has been commented on in our further stays by fellow tourists. Had a lovely evening chilling by the pool with drinks and there was a little puppet show aswell. Great location and not too far to visit the stunning Taj Mahal - would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Nothing to fault

The premises of the Hotel is nicely set. Well guarded. The hotel staff was very friendly and found opportunities for one of us to do a nightshift work in the restaurant area. The rooms were really nice and had everything needed.

In general the staff was very helpful, however it did not feel like it is genuinely coming from their heart. Two Germans, one Thai, one Portguese and one Indian somehow were more seen as „oh yes they booked four rooms, let them sleep here, feed them and send them away again“ (only at the reception) especially during checkin and checkout I had the feeling that we were not well received, but maybe the other places i stayed in were too friendly (7th time in India). Yes we got flowers upon arrival but I would rather feel welcomed by words that by flowers. Be more authentic.

The building itself is open and roomy and has a colonial style. The rooms were well decorated and very comfortable. The bar area was small and comfortable. The lady on reception was particularly helpful and booked our tickets to the Taj Mahal for us. Puppet show entertainment was good

The evening entertainment of a puppet show was good but there was hard sell to buy after it. Very strong tipping requirement from all staff . Perhaps they would benefit from a one of tipping like other hotels. The pool looked beautiful but was not heated so was too cold too use. Would benefit from some tourist information and perhaps local map

We arrived here after staying at a horrid property prior to this one. This was a very welcome change. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The grounds were well manicured and there was a live dance performance going on when we arrived. We didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. Our room was also very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. Our WiFi worked very well also. The breakfast was tasty with a good variety of food to choose from. I would recommend staying here.

Nothing. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wow!! In all my years I have never stayed in such a lovely, charming, characterful room. We had a lawn facing room, which was exquisite. The pool and lawns offer a quiet and relaxing space away from the bustle of life outside.

We enjoyed the food in the dining room, but we did experience some slow service one night - seemingly on account of room service meals taking up chef’s time? The bar and rooms ooze charm - but the dining room would benefit from being elevated to offer the same character - it’s pleasant but no where near as characterful or elegant as the rooms.

The highlights were the communication with extra friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and peaceful live music at dinner, gorgeous gardens and pool area, access to ATM, easy to get transport and guide to Taj Mahal from hotel. The best part was the Prince’s Chamber room with its spacious accomodation, bathroom and direct access to garden and pool on both sides as well as breakfast and dining. The ancient double doors and old padlock and key were so interesting and part of historical background of the property.

The loud and unusual musical truck horn noises and vehicles beeping at night were a bit annoying but i am now used to it as it seems this is very common in India on any road. A good pair of earplugs is a must when traveling in India!
