The staff are friendly and polite from the doormen helping with the luggage, reception staff to room service. They all made you feel special. This was definitely beyond a 5 star hotel, The Hyatt has plenty of spacious seating areas inside. Breakfast quality and variety was amazing. Lovely garden to the side of the restaurant with seating for alfresco dining. Rooms were lovely and clean and most of all..soundproof! The only negative for me is getting a bill at checkout for more taxes to pay (even though I paid at check in the price that was indicated on booking.com which included taxes)

The steady stream of guests checking in and out of the hotel were well received by the front desk under the guidance and supervision of Ms.Prachi Thapa. She was humble and courteous in her interactions, showing care and concern for her guests. She was dedicated to her work and has a natural flair for guest interactions. The staff that managed the Waterside Cafe breakfast buffet were very dedicated and efficient in their services. They were all very courteous and interacted well with the guests. They served us very well. Hyatt offered a lavish buffet spread for breakfast, featuring Indian, American, Continental and Asian dishes. The rooms were clean and tidy, with the bed linen and towels changed regularly. The rooms were well maintained by the room attendant Dipankar and Upendar the floor in charge. The bell boys and concierge were most courteous and knowledgeable about most things of Kolkata. They were most helpful in assisting us with our local travel arrangements. We will definitely return to stay again in Hyatt Regency, Kolkata

Dining at Waterside Cafe both buffet breakfast and dinner. Excellent Gym & Spa. Room was lovely like two years ago very comfortable beds with excellent housekeeping from Shubhasis and other staff. Warm welcome from reception particularly Ustab and Soumya plus PR Manager Prachi. We had a hired chauffeured service from hotel to visit our families at Howrah, excellent driver for three days running Subroto. As we had connection from Delhi Leela Ambience with their managers Srija and Prachi here, before coming here, proper warm welcome and surprise even when we entered room. As we moved to Hyatt Centric other end of city, we got a very warm welcome from there as Hyatt Regency made the transfer smooth

Rooms do need a bit of refurbishment and modernisation as nearly 15 years old. Our pipe in bathroom leaked but even there Ustab prompted arranged service engineers to rectify the damage and housekeeper quickly cleaned up the mess. Too many wedding functions that made hotel very busy on the lifts and lobby plus night-ime noise from wedding music. Other than that nothing at all

Breakfast, the room - the bathroom was amazing. Clean. People had warned us this was an ‘old’ hotel but saw no evidence. Soumya went out of his way to solve a small problem we had.

I know security is there for my own good but I found it crazy that I couldn’t bring my small fruit knife to my room. Scissors were fine and of course there must be thousands of knives in the restaurant. I was promised it would be part of the checkout procedure five days later but in the taxi to the airport I realized it was still at the hotel … Soumya made sure it was returned to me. We didn’t really find any nice restaurants in the neighborhood so were dependent on the hotel food which we found overpriced. Swimming pool big but shallow and … beware of mosquitoes

Well maintained beautiful property. I would like to mention a few staff who made a difference to my stay. The concierge, Soumya was excellent. Took the trouble to send location pins to drivers etc since many didn’t speak English. Agnivesh Roy at Travel desk was extremely kind and helped me with many of my travel requests. Last, the driver Chandran was excellent.

The reception staff need a lot more training. They are “friendly” when serving clients but there is zero genuineness or even follow up. I booked a car in the morning for an important event that night. When I arrived back at the hotel at 5 pm, I was told very casually that there were no cars available. No one had contacted to let me know. This was extremely stressful and something I didn’t expect from a chain like Hyatt. Reception staff also don’t have a clue about places to go shopping, sites to see etc. Nor do they point you to the concierge who does know! First day was a wild goose chase with a driver who barely spoke English organized by the reception.

The hotel ambience was good overall. There was one staff named Rajashree at the front desk who was very unco-operative and obstinate. However, the other lady Rajshri was very helpful and quickly sorted my query. The bathroom was very well maintained. Also the view was great. The room was descent but not very well shaped.

The room had awkward corners which had no use. The work table was wobbly. Also the bed was not very comfortable ... Too much of spring leading to a sprained back. Also the food was disastrous. They charged a whopping amount of ₹1050 for a simple burger that was absolutely disgusting and extremely salty. The fries were cold and limp. The panini was not an authentic recipe. The focacia was also not good. Having paid ₹1900 for two sandwiches, ilI expected the bread to be fresh and authentic. Also the bathroom mirror had fading mercury stains. The soap was stained and the toiletries were freshly refilled. There was no bubble bath for the room.

Upon check-in, we were warmly welcomed by the Lobby Manager, Mr. Raghav, and a member of the lobby staff whose name I believe was Anusha. Their welcome and hospitality set the tone for our stay, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to an expansive penthouse on the 6th floor, equipped with all modern amenities. The accommodation was huge, what I figures out it was at least 220 square meters, immaculate, and filled with natural light. Everything exceeded our expectations. My wife and son were particularly thrilled with the comfort of the room, and even asked me to write their feedback on their experience. The balcony offered an outstanding view of the lake, adding to the charm of our stay. The housekeeping staff maintained the room meticulously and provided excellent service throughout our visit. Nothing to complain about the hotel . There was some dust on the balcony due to its proximity to the outer bypass road, the view and overall ambiance more than made up for it. However, the sound of Kolkata vehicle owners honking on the road, was noticeable when on the balcony.

Our stay was super comfortable at Hyaat. The rooms were daily cleaned and I would like to specially thank Abdul in room service who always went out of the way to help us. My parents were super immpressed by his kind gestures and hospitality. We would love to join again soon.

The fuss about breakfast that should be taken on the next morning. I did try to explain our travel iteneriary and the conditions in which we reached Kolkata but the check in staff were adamant on their breakfast rules. Eventually everything went well and I am not complaining because the food was awesome.

Good value for money. Restaurant breakfast was good. Staff were helpful and courteous. Well located near the Eastern Bypass with easy access to both the Airport (30 mins) and South Kolkata (30-40 mins).

The room amenities were a bit worn. A table lamp had a defective switch (it could not be switched off unless you unplugged it from the socket). I asked housekeeping to do something about it but to no avail. A bedside glass rack also came off the wall and was unusable. The rooms need more attention for sure.

It was pretty good throughout and kids had a great time at pool. Only a couple of disappointments of slow service and not enough food variety by the pool And when they got an extra bed for my child it was full of cobwebs. I asked to clean but they did not. Felt that the hidden areas are not as clean and hygienic as it should be like under the main bed where kids crawl to hide and play etc and staff care about only visible area cleaning.
