The staff was cordial and the cleanliness was good, I had to ask for toiletries and they provided a Shampoo sachet whereas the stay was booked for 2 adults+2 children. The location is peaceful but it needs guts to reach the place as it is a steep incline and requires a tiring walk of around 1 KM. It is a one way road between 6 am - 8 pm so you have to take a 3-4 km route to reach the hotel by taxi. (makes it a little costly if you are willing to go out multiple times a day). The best part is that they can accommodate 4-5 cars at their parking lot, which saves you a lot of burden of parking your own car, I left my car at parking and used a taxi to ferry the places.

Just returned from a wonderful family weekend in Nainital, where we stayed at The Kumaon Retreat. The experience was truly exceptional — clean and well-maintained rooms, courteous and helpful staff, and a peaceful ambience throughout. It’s definitely a great value for money. Highly recommended for families and couples looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

They don't have restaurant in hotel but they have kitchen. You can order food and take it in your room or reception. Food quality was good, except Chinese food.

View is good, room size is good, polite staff, clean room, waiter service is good. They will respond to your issue. Electric kettle was given

Menu could have been better, very less options and considering the dis from Mall Road, you need good menu Flush of separate toilet was not working Curtain covering the balcony was not working

The hospitality is excellent, with very supportive staff. Special thanks to the owner and his father especially for guiding us with an alternative route due to heavy traffic jam while reaching the place. He was on call with us for about 30 min guiding us properly with an alternative route.Owner of the property has also helped us to plan our day by taking ownership of the required arrangements. Food was excellent. We really liked the poha served for breakfast. Will be good if south Indian breakfast like dosa can be added to the menu.

It's on steep height , if you cannot walk everytime to visit any shop you need to take taxi. R St food , staff and hotel room was ok.

The location and its approach

I had a wonderful stay! Easy access to Mall Road and the mix of trekking along with a cozy, home-like dining experience . I was thoroughly impressed with the owner, Nikhil. He provides excellent advices, personally invests and adjusts the itinerary to ensure you get the best value for your money.

A faster WiFi connection would definitely make it even more enjoyable.

All the property and room were very neat and clean, and the staff were so humble. The service was excellent. I will try again to stay next time also.

We were two families who were staied in room no 102 and 202. My friend faced a water supply related problem in room no 202, and it couldn't sort out until we wacate the property. however your staff had permitted to use other room's toilet, but too late. it was a very bad experience. rest all very fine. so as a guest, i will suggest you kindly check all pipelines for the future. So that other guest could avoid same bad expirience.

The food (dinner and breakfast) served was hot and delicious. The location of the hotel is at the prime location. You can either walk or hire a taxi to Mall road or nainital lake.

One of the room has no window. This was mentioned while booking. Later on when communicated the feedback, the owner suggested we can arrange a small fan for better ventilation.

View from the room was excellent. The staff was extremely helpful and the food was good as well. The hotel is located a little bit away from the city center so it would be better if you have your own vehicle for commuting. Or else, the local taxis charge quite a lot. Or else, you can just walk and it would take about 15-20 mins from Mall road to the hotel. Special mention to Nikhil at the hotel who is a really nice person and helped me out with everything I needed.
