Clean pool, small, remote, and feels like a tropical paradise. We'll placed. Cheap restaurant food. Not included in the price but affordable compare to the 2 neighbouring hotels nileshwar hermitage and malabar, of which malabar has outdated facilities and a mucky pool and sub par service and food. Kanan had great food I was never left hungry and it didn't break the bank.

Too many bugs and a little eery at night time. Part and parcel of a quiet gem of a place. Would recommend and bugs are everyone in all places so bring the spray. Although nileshwar provides this and kanan provides cream. Malabar as the sub par 1/3 supplies nothing but a plug in that comes as standard in all and barely helps.

We loved everything. Location next to the sea and a fabulous beach with safe swimming and fun waves. Great cottage with sea view. People couldn't do enough for us, everything just was done perfectly. Terrific meals made freshly for us. Incredible experiences including a trip to the fire Theyyam. And the location meant that every morning and evening we could walk just over the road into the farmers plots and find amazing bird life, more every day - and lovely people to chat to, and children to wave to add day hello to. Also had a great bike ride down the coast to the river on good bikes provided by the resort. Oh and the pool is excellent and very beautiful.

We had to leave because we'd only booked six nights. We would have loved to stay longer. You will too.

Unfortunately, we reached the hotel well past sunset. But the incredible view that greeted us the next morning was unbelievable. The location is perfect, a few hundred meters from the beach, and sleeping while hearing the rhythmic lullaby of the waves on a super moon night was magical. The property is easily accessible but the surroundings are very calm and idyllic. There are around 10 villas in the property but we were the only ones the staying the night we were there. But we were pleasantly surprised with the efficient service provided by the dedicated kitchen and service staff. The manager who checked us in was also professional. We had booked a two-bedroom villa and the rooms were well maintained and the bathrooms were functional.

The property could do with a bit more love and care especially with the room furniture and bathroom fittings.

Beautiful location with a panoramic view of the Arabian sea from the resort.Well maintained villas with great ambiance.Very clean, hygiene and spacious rooms.Staff are very polite and friendly.Tasty food is served at the in-house restaurant with amazing ambiance.Pool is very clean and maintained.Not many people on the beach feels like a private beach which is very clean, calm and serene.Overall value for money and a great location to spend time with your family and is definitely de-stressing.Also,worth mentioning my driver was provided with food and a decent room to stay! Excellent

Tender coconut was over priced.Was not expecting in a place which is full of coconut trees!At least a welcome drink we expected a tender coconut.Authentic Kerala breakfast if served would be great..can improve on the spread..

Kanan Beach Resort was a great surprise. We discovered a very beautiful and quiet paradise. The place was very well thought. The beach in Nileshwar is incredibly beautiful. The team of Kanan Beach was very professional. We were welcomed by the French owners of the hotel who were very friendly. The restaurant is also excellent. Maybe my favorite hotel in India so far.

Excellent location right by a very pristine Neeleshwar Beach. The room sizes are also great with a sitting room a bedroom a luggage room along with the bath room. Loved talking to the owner as well

Initially we did not know that everything is freshly made by the cooks at the restaurant and it is a good idea to order much earlier (1-2h before) before you want to eat.

This place is fabulous in all aspects. The property is peacefully situated among coconut trees and looks out to the sea via a clean empty beach. The lodges are spacious with all amenities required for a comfortable stay. The staff are super friendly and the food in the restaurant is freshly made and delicious. Well worth making a detour if in the area

Beachside location. Greenery and cottage style accommodation. Great food at the restaurant. Excellent front desk service by the manager Sailesh and his staff. He booked our taxi for further travel and followed up to ensure everything was ok. Restaurant at our request packed lunch for us for our road trip so we do not have to eat outside food. Small pool good for families with kids and beach volleyball. Staff made us feel at home. Could see that the resort promotes a natural lifestyle and cares for the environment. Great place to get away from the crowds and the busy city life.

There are mosquitoes and flies as one would expect in such a place, but the resort manages them well.

Great room, loads of space with sea views. The staff went the extra mile constantly, they were friendly and made us feel welcome. We loved the open beachside restaurant and were very happy with the freshness and quality of the food.

Found the air conditioning a bit noisy and tried it without, just the sea breeze for ventilation.

Hospitality exceeds comparing the competitor resort which is adjacent.( as I enquired both and been to both) Booked sea view cottage which was very spacious. Well maintained grass and swimming pool area with hammocks. Sunset view was awesome. In house dining and food was really good. Will definitely book again
