Calmtree is tucked away down a short street right off Batu Bolong in Canggu. You can't beat the location. It's a short walk to the beach, great restaurants, and shopping. The bungalows are gorgeous, the beds are very comfortable and the staff are lovely and very helpful. There are lots of choices at breakfast so you'll start your day well nourished. It's very serene and relaxing and the pool is lovely. Sitting out on my little balcony and looking over the pool was very relaxing. And again, it is an incredible location in Canggu - so easy to get around. Some things to note for travellers - I'm not putting these as negatives because they didn't bother me but I like to be helpful in my reviews and they may not be what others are looking for. Housekeeping is minimal eg. you will have to refill your own water (just steps away in the restaurant) and you'll have to ask for new toilet paper, but they are quick with making your bed and giving you fresh towels every day, oh and they won't replace your glasses. The bungalows can get noisy. You will hear other guests out on their balconies or by the pool chatting and at night you will hear the noise from Canggu eg. music and bikes but this all calms down by midnight. Like I said, this didn't bother me but if you're someone looking for a super quiet location, it's worth mentioning. Recommended to do in the area - Old Man's market on Saturdays (9 minute walk), La Brisa market on Sundays (15ish minute walk) - and stay for a drink ;) - both right on the water. I can't wait to come and stay again!

Cleaning staff not the best. Left dirty glassware, rubbish and used towels for days unless prompted. Bungalows not very well insulated.

Loved the authentic feel. Lovely, quiet, small resort. Outdoor shower lots of hot water and good water pressure. Beds and pillows really comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area and gardens clean and well maintained. Breakfast there was a good choice and adequate.

The white towels were grey and need replacing. Although the place was amazing, I did feel being in bungalow 1, it was not the most tranquil of accommodation because it’s right here next to the breakfast room and you can hear every bit of noise, chatter, coffee machine and people checking in. So that was really disappointing for me.

The Calmtree Bungalows is the most beautiful hotel I ever stayed at! It's a lush quiet oasis with a green garden, located in the middle of busy Canggu. The bungalows are built in wonderful original Bali style, lots of natural material, great wood work. Gusti and his team are the best! Always so friendly, helpful and most hospitable. Great place to stay with kids, they love the pool and the bungalow. The location is very clean and equipped with everything one needs. Small fridge, very good air conditioner, high water pressure and very comfortable beds to sleep well in. I wish we can visit again one day. Thank you for this amazing stay at this extraordinary place.

Wonderful little hotel just off the main road in Canggu. The town is very busy so it was nice to be away from the main road in a peaceful setting by the pool. They sent a driver to pick us up at the airport and it was about an hour drive to the hotel. We walked to the beach for a surf lesson and the sunset. Our surf instructor suggested Warung Sika for dinner and it was an amazing experience. Best local food and we walked through the kitchen to find more seating and there was a quiet garden area in the back. We sat on cushions on the floor and had our best meal in Bali so far and for dirt cheap. 😋

There is a restaurant near by that has parties on Monday and Friday so the music is loud until midnight. We arrived on Monday but were so jet lager that the music didn’t keep us from sleeping.

Fantastic rustic bungalow with wooden beams. We had the family room which had two single beds upstairs and a double downstairs, plus bathroom outside but under cover. All beds with mosquito nets. Our bungalow overlooked the lovely pool area. We had to check out early for our flight and they suggested we pre order our breakfast so it was ready for us at 7.10 as we needed to leave at 7.30. We ordered omelettes and we got fruit, juice and coffee too which was great. Wish we could have stayed longer as we loved it. The location is great too walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars and beach.

The stairs to the top floor where the twin beds are aren't suitable for young kids. Mine are 8 + and coped fine but I wouldn't have felt comfortable if they were younger as they are quite steep. They add to the charm and rustic feel of the bungalow and look lovely but just a warning to those of you with little ones... No air con in bathroom, had to do makeup in bedroom.

Very beautiful and quiet place. Right in the middle of Canggu. Everything is 10-20 minutes walking distance. Canggu is a noisy and crowded place but, after just 1 minute walk from the street, in Calmtree Bungalows you are in the middle of a peaceful equatorial garden. Each bungalow makes you feel you are living in a idealize Bali village cottage. Service and cleanness are 5 stars. There is a large choice of very good breakfast. There is also lot of littles but very practicals surplus like frigo, available drinking water, contact for taxi and different activities. But above all, everything is about ambiance.

For the affordable price, this place should exceed expectations! Just for location alone, you'll find that this is sucha good place to stay --- it's nearby Temple of Enthusiasm, nearby the beach --- and restaurants and everything else in Canggu are just a stone's throw away. :) The staff is also so so nice --- very warm and welcoming. The villa that we had was two stories! 3 beds for 3 people! So roomy and spacious, and just overall really great. The pool was also nice! All the rooms faced this pool, and it's the first thing you'll see when you wake up or go out in the morning. The hotel is quiet too at night --- near enough everything, but also far enough from the bars and clubs near the beach.

I wish there was a brighter light at the first floor --- it was difficult to see everything with just mood lighting! Hehe. Other than that, this is good place for anyone looking for a decent place to stay at a great location :)

This is my second time staying at this property. Will always stay here when they have a spare room. Love the space, the pool, the rooms, the location, the quiet. It's an all round great stay right in the heart of Batu Bolong.
