The German owner lives at his hotel, maintains it properly, and you can tell with he is proud of it. He picks you up at the airport (even though our plane arrived late in the evening and was delayed by 2 hours) himself. The location is perfect, 5 minutes from the airport, and he kept the kitchen open so we could eat dinner. Everything in the room worked properly: AC, hot water, water pressure, etc. Breakfast was prompt, as he knew we needed to leave to go back to the airport the next morning. But he also offered to help us further with our visa extension should we return--which we wouldn't hesitate to do again.

Everything! The hotel is iconic and beautifully presented, mosaic tiles and real character is everywhere at a very reasonable price.. the airport and ferry shuttle is on time and excellent. But the best big is the food! So well priced and really really good. This hotel makes the stop over in Kupang fun

Definately the place to stay in Kupang. Owners and staff are very accomodating and welcoming. Room quiet, pillows and bed very comfortable, food from the restaurant was cheap and delicious. The rooftop bar provides an excellent sunset view overlooking the city. We travelled with our own motorcycles which were safe overnight. We were able to arrange a tour of the sites as well as ferry tickets through the hotel. Michael the owner, went as far as chapparoning us to the port to ensure we faced no issues! This is a good hotel if you are going to Rote or need the airport in Kupang. The staff are experts in getting you between the ferry terminal and your flight. Everything can be arranged, and it makes the journey much easier. The decor of the hotel is Tex-Mex, US southwest and the rooftop bar/restaurant has incredible sunset views over the city.

The hotel is a bit outside of town, near the airport. If you are only transferring to and fro this is no issue, or if you wan to go to town you can use a Grab or Gojek easily. Not a big issue, but do be aware you are not in the downtown area of Kupang (which may be a plus).

They really had thought of everything, the room had everything you needed. 10/10

Slow service in the restaurant, my main course arrived 30 minutes before my friends'. 3 appetizers and 3 mains took 2 hours to arrive. I was asked for 50k for transfer to the airport. I said that was too much and it was reduced to 25k. I assumed that was a private ride, but there was another traveler too. Felt a bit shady.

Walking distance to the airport, great transit hotel. Michael and his staff are very helpful getting tickets organised for Rote Island. It has a superb roof top bar and excellent food, must be the best food in Kupang. The room we had was ok and it had hot water. But that roof top bar is something else (lots of stairs to go up however).

Great option as accomodation in Kupang before and after visiting Rote Island. Close to airport, but not far from the centre of town either. Services such as airport and/or ferry pick ups and drop offs very well managed. Staff were friendly and responsive. Michael, the owner was good company. Restaurant menu is a good range of options, and delivers on taste and value.

Feels like you are in the American southwest! Fun and quirky, has a great vibe. Super nice staff. Wonderful rooftop for sunset (with good Mexican food - in Indonesia!) Airport transfer and breakfast included and both greatly appreciated. Will come back for my next Kupang stopover.

Ok, you're probably looking at this because you need a layover to get to Rote or any of the other islands... La Hasienda is the place to have that layover. Key reason is that Michael, the owner, will go out of his way to help you get to where you need to go. He helps with buying the tickets for fast/slow ferry or plane and shuttles you there to make sure you catch it. Also, and very importantly, in case of weather complications (which I had) he'll help you figure out the best alternative mode of transport, so that you're not stuck longer than you have to. Good quality food with some German specialties on the menu, as well as an overall attention to detail throughout the property, which you don't find that often in this part of the world.

Super nice place ! It has a lot of character (mosaics everywhere), a nice pool (with a lot of shade), friendly staff and is super clean ! Its close to the airport and they provide pickup and dropoff for a small fee (50k only). Try to chicken curry in the rooftop-restaurant. It is delicious !
