I absolutely loved this place. I extended my stay to over a week and was still reluctant to leave when I did. Deko , the owner, is amazing - friendly, helpful, cheerful. He and his staff create a truly welcoming atmosphere. I enjoyed the pool. The rooms and whole premises are kept very clean and being serviced daily. The bed is very comfortable, has a curtain, and doesn't move or squeak at all even though they are bunk beds. Scooter rental is possible and cheap and there is free water, tea and coffee. The beach is in easy walking distance. I Think this is the best value for money I ever got. One of my absolute favourite places.

Wow! This was a great hostel. Take the boat from Bali to mushroom bay and you can walk to the hostel. The staff is welcoming and social. I rented a bike here and it was very good bike. The hostel was clean and the aircon was very good as well. The facilities are clean and kept up. I would recommend & stay here again. I had a great time! They also helped me organize the snorkeling tour. WiFi is also very fast.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Castaway. The property is conveniently located just a short walk from the beach and restaurants but tucked away to enjoy tranquility. The pool is definitely a plus to cool down when is so hot to stay at the beach, it's a very relaxing atmosphere. And last but not least, the staff! Rama and bonbon really go out of their way to make you feel welcome, I recommend Castaway Island. p.s. Movie night was really fun!

Deko was super friendly and welcoming. He was super helpful and made me feel welcomed. The hostel rooms are spacious. Beds are comfy and everything was super clean. The pool area is super chill. It’s very quiet so if that’s what you’re looking for it’s ideal !

The rooms don’t lock (not a problem though because the location felt very safe) 5 minute walk or so to the main road. The walk is a little sketchy but again I didn’t feel unsafe. Just some points to take in mind if you were to book. But I would advise doing so anyway because it’s a lovely little hostel

The staff and owner are lovely and are really helpful with tours and recommendations. The pool is great and they keep it clean. It is very close to mushroom bay and restaurants - if you can get a boat that docks in to mushroom bay it's a 5 mins walk. It's not too far to walk to dream beach and devils tears but I definitely recommend checking out the other side of the island as well.

The drains in the shower rooms are quite smelly. The set up of the dorms means you are disturbed by people using the toilet and shower in the morning and the door to the dorm is very noisy.

The dorms are really spacious, the beds are big and really comfortable. Our room had six beds and two toilets and two showers, which was really nice. Everything is clean. The location is great, it is only a few min ride to Devil’s tear and Dream Beach and around 15 min to Nusa Ceningan. Our hosts were super sweet and friendly. They make you breakfast in the morning and they even dropped us off at the harbour for our boat to Penida. Really recommend this accomodation!

Location is amazing just a short walk to a lot of beautiful places and a very short walk to multiple places to eat. The staff is very nice and will help you with everything you need.

The one thing was that the water of the showers was pretty salty, so we didn’t really feel clean after showering.

The staff were lovely and helpful, the rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Cheap beer at happy hour. Very chill hostel, not super social while I was there but still met people.

The bathrooms were a bit rundown. Shower head kept falling off the attachment. The smell wasn’t great coming from the bathrooms.
