I just want to start off my review by saying I have stayed in over a dozen or more hostels while travelling Australia and the world and this one is definitely in my top 3. So sadly I only stayed for 1 night in Wonderloft Hostel Yogyakarta because I already had a flight booked the following day but the staff and facilities were 10/10 and I wish I was able to stay longer. In my 1 night of stay I had mutiple enquires for the reception/staff e.g. - How to book a train to the airport (which they did for me) and also how to get to the train station at 4:35am in time for my train (which they also helped me with). - Where could I find a good restaurant for some delicious Nasi Goreng (one of my fav Indonesian dishes) it was quite late at night though so one of the only options was a small street food vendor around the corner which I went to and it was "enak" which is Indonesian for delicous and only $22,000 Rp ($2.20 Australian at the time) - Lastly where is a good place to get a nice respectable and reasonably priced massage (I got a full body massage for 1hr for $115,000 Rp $11.50 Australian which is roughly about ×9 less than what I normally pay back home) The room I stayed in was a mixed gender capsule dorm room which was very clean, the bed was really comfy, it had amazing A/C (which if you've ever been anywhere in South-East Asia just before, during or just after the rainy season as well as anywhere in the Northern part of Australia during summer you know it's kind of a game changer) and to top it off everyone is supplied with a complimentary towel. It was also my first experience staying in a capsule dorm so I was a bit unsure as what it would be like but I loved it.

Everything, the staffff, the place, the vibe , the location. You stay in the most friendly and the most helpful place even you are a solo travel , but you are so easy to feel like at home. Great place to stay and the cleanest hostel I ever had in my life . The best experience I ever had after I travel internationally and I do not expected I keep extended my staying in Yogyakarta and even just stay mingle in this hostel. Again, thank you Ivan, Dipsi, Gerry and all the Wonderloft Yogyakarta. You guys are rock!

Thank you Ivan, Dipha ( Dipsi ), Gerry & team wonderloft yogyakarta Honestly I have been travelled internationally and domestic , I am quite impressed how cozy , nice and blissfull vibe in this hostel. It is a unique experience when you stay here. It is rare to find honest and friendly people with great ambience. The staff are more than staff that you expected, you can trust them for the guidance and information around Yogyakarta. I never find very clean hostel as hostel standard and good smell everywhere. Great and simple interior but pratically. All the corner have been decorated functionally. Staff are very wonderful and helpfull , you can make friend easily with them . If you are a solo traveller, adventurer and open minded person , here go..this place is yours .

Thankful for the provided facilities. Its an excellent hostel for budget travel. I Liked: -Dorms privacy and air conditioning (I chose capsule way) -Friendly atmosphere, other guests and especially staff! Ivan is attentive and concerned about comfort and safety of all guests. Great to hide from the sun, recharge - Clean rooms and shared bathrooms - Kitchen is a plus! - as well the hostel (as the building) has interesting, detailed design decisions. Inspiring. It’s an amazing hostel with super friendly staff and comfortable beds. Really liked the location and the coffee place next door. They clean everything every day. Full on deep cleaning. That was very nice. They can also book you a tour to Borobudur and/or Prambanan.

The door of my dorm was super squeaky and got stuck on the floor and therefore made a lot of noise when opening and closing. Not great for a good night sleep when you have a roommate like I did who liked going in and out of the room like 10 times at 5:30. 3 days in a row. Fixing that door would be great for some peace and quiet in the room.

I'm rarely in a hostel that afterwards I would actually miss, but this was one of them. First of all, the very sweet and helpful staff (Iván dankjewel voor je lieve kaartje!). These guys are just the best. Second, the hostel itself is just very nice. I immediately felt at home. Clean, spacious, beautiful. And lastly, the location is great. In the centre yet calm and no noise from outside. Lot's of nice bars and restaurants on walking distance. Thank you guys! :)

Nothing, only thing that I can think of maybe: a better WiFi connection.

Ideally located in a street with lots of restaurants and breakfast places Hostel vas very clean all the time The hostel was pretty and welcoming Staff was super helpful - one of the guys at the desk help me manage a booking The roof terrace was nice

AC was too high, i was freezing everynight because the room was too cold , it was hard to sleep The curtain on the top bed do not give privacy as they stop right above the bed rail so your whole face and body is visible. Bird in a cage - no bird needs to be trapped in a cage, very common in indonesia but this is animal cruelty to me

Really nice looking hostel and the staff is super kind! They helped me book the train to the airport and to book a tour within Yogyakarta. Room was also comfortable and shared showers and toilets are clean! Few nice coffee places near the hostel but to really get to the center might take you a 5-10 minute bike ride but wasn’t too bothered by that.

There was randomly a slug in my room, might have been my fault though but not sure how that got in there. Besides that, no negative points!

this is definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at, the beds are very comfortable and so were other amenities. Overall I had a fantastic experience thanks to the staff, Ivan is a great ambassador for the Hostel as well as an encyclopedia on yogya as well as Indonesia, if you need any travel tips,he made my trip truly worthwhile and I know I speak for others who were staying there as well. Olivia at the reception was always great and helped out a lot as well. I really like the street on which it is situated, some really nice cafés, restaurants as well as easy access to any tourist sites in the city. if you’re in yogya definitely choose them , u wont regret it.

The hostel is about 3 km from the city center. To get there you can either walk or get a grab. I really liked the location, as it is not on the main street, so you don't hear the traffic noise. Also, there are a lot of really nice cafès for breakfast, many restaurants (both local and international), and a couple of supermakets. I was in the female room and I had a really nice stay. I met a lot of nice and sociable people...we visited the temples all together! One of the staff is the most amazing guy I have ever met! It was really nice to talk to him and he went above and beyond to accomodate everyone's requests. If I was to go back to Yogyakarta, I would definitely go back there! The hostel has lockers (you need you own lock) and free water refills. The common area is super nice and there is always someone hanging around.
