Palazzo Sant'Antonio used to be a nunnery and only recently has been converted. Everything is new and well taken care of. High ceiling rooms, mine was really spacious and full of light. Excellent bed, air conditioning and wi fi. Disposable toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap and slippers are also provided. The place is very quiet, although 5 walking minutes from a tube and two “funiculare” stations. Staff are very helpful and the girls at the reception speak excellent English. There is a large breakfast area on the lower level with plenty of seats and also an outside terraced area, a garden/parking space on the level above and on the top level a large terrace with a fantastic view over Naples - I attach a picture. The closest tube station is Montesanto which is just 2 stops on the M2 line from the main railway station, Napoli Centrale. If coming from there once out of the Montesanto tube station don’t try to walk up towards the hotel as it is stiff uphill; instead, walk downhill 2 minutes and you will be at the Montesanto funicolare. Catch that for one stop and get off at the Vittorio Emanuele stop. From there to the hotel is less than 5 minutes walk, all downhill. You will need an “Integrato” ticket which costs €1.70 and allows you to catch any number of buses plus a single journey on each underground line and a funicolare within 90 minutes. The Montesanto funicolare funicolare station is at one end of Pignasecca, a lively 100% Neapolitan neighbourhood full of restaurants, pizzerias, groceries, etc. and with a great open air fruit and vegetables market. Walk to the end of Pignasecca street and you are in via Toledo, one of the main arteries of the city. The funiculare also takes you to il Vomero, an upmarket Napoli neighbourhood that is the opposite of Pignasecca, all tidy and quiet. The Morghen funicolare stations is just minutes from Certosa di S. Martino and the Castel S. Elmo.

The salita!

I liked that there was a 24 hour reception desk and that they would buzz people into the premises, they always did so promptly whenever I came back too. The single room was spacious enough for me and had really high ceilings, there was enough storage, a fridge etc and there were some body, hand, hair wash complimentary as well as a towel, floor mat, and slippers. The staff were friendly when you asked any questions etc. Mt Versuvius view from the window (though you can’t see as it’s night in my picture). Off topic but I would also recommend the pizzeria on the Main Street next to the hotel, Toto, Eduardo pasta e Fagioli as the pizza there was really good on my first night.

The shower in the single room was a bit small for me, but I do have the same issue in other Italian hotels/hostels too. I am 6’2 and I have broad shoulders. I was able to shower fine, but considering the bathroom is reasonably spacious for a single room, the shower stood out as a bit out of proportion. The property is up a hill but you get a great view as a trade off. It is definitely not as bad as some other reviewers have made it out to be and if you have a basic level of fitness you’ll be fine

It was conveniently located. It was situated in a prime position, just a 2-minute walk away from a cable car that runs every 10 minutes. This allowed easy access to the historical center, which was only a 1-minute ride away. The staff at the hotel were incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel right at home during my stay. Additionally, the parking facilities were very convenient. The cleaning service exceeded my expectations, as everything was kept in perfect condition. Lastly, the breakfast provided was fresh and delicious. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it.

I really liked my stay at Palazzo Sant'Antonio. It's just a short walking distance from the city center and public transport stations (approx. 15 minutes), or you simply take the cable car that is just minutes away. However, I'd highly recommend to walk down the beautiful stairs and alleys in typical Naples fashion. You will pass the coffee and pastry shop "Armando Scaturchio". Get yourself an espresso or cappuccino and a couple of pistachio cannolis. You won't regret it. The rooms were super clean, the staff helpful and nice and do yourself a favour and check out the yard/garden with the beautiful lemon trees. I forgot to take a picture but it looks absolutely beautiful. I will be back when I come back to Naples :)

The hotel boasts a highly convenient central location, which is easily accessible and complemented by clear and helpful directions provided via message. It is a mere 5-minute journey to reach the city center and a 2-minute walk to the cable car, offering direct access to Toledo street. The ambiance of the establishment is both comfortable and charming, featuring a garden and terrace available to all guests. The breakfast provided is exceptionally diverse and plentiful, with seating options both indoors and outdoors. The reception desk is staffed round-the-clock, ensuring a warm and accommodating atmosphere. Additionally, the reception staff provided valuable assistance in navigating the city's main attractions. They thoughtfully equipped us with a comprehensive map highlighting numerous destinations of interest, ensuring that we were well-informed and able to make the most of our visit. Furthermore, the hotel offers complimentary luggage storage prior to check-in and after check-out. The room exuded spaciousness, tranquility and cleanliness, complemented by a truly comfortable bed. The bathroom is thoughtfully furnished with essential amenities such as toothpaste and toothbrush, along with high-quality soaps and shampoos. Additionally, it provides the convenience of shower shoes for guests' comfort and hygiene.

I feel so appreciated for the receptionist’s patient and helpful. I didn’t know that it was hard to find a taxi at bank holiday and also didn’t have public traffic. Thanks for the staff( I am sorry that I forget to ask about their name) They helped me to find a taxi, encouraged me everything would be okay. So I could arrived on time! Thank you!!!!!! And this hotel located in a quite area, it’s good to have a nice sleep. But also it around the hills like usual south Italy. if people have a heavy suitcase, maybe call taxi to there would be better. Although it really close to metro station. or it would feel like workout at gym.

The receptionist was extremely helpful. There was a payable safe parking at the property and the instructions we were given to find it were very detailed. In terms of location we were a few meters away from the tram station that would take us to the center in a few minutes.

The room was very standard but value for money. The shower cabin was too small.

It was a very simple, quite comfortable and new hotel. I stayed only one night. The staff was very helpful. The room is large enough.

Although the bathroom is big enough, the shower cabinet is really small and it was too difficult for me to take a shower. ( I am 193 cm Tall!) Generally, the hotel and my room were new and clean, but there were so many hairs on the room floor. I think the room floor was mopped without being vacuumed and all hairs and dirt were stuck to the floor.

Breakfast was acceptable however the dishes with fresh produce were not readily replaced when used sometimes leaving little choice

For myself and wife the location was not ideal. Rooftop area would benefit from a little maintenance.

I felt safe as a solo traveller. The bed and room was comfortable. The shower was quite small (im a tiny person already), but still its a nice space for the price! The location is not in the center, you need to take the funicolare to get to the train station (montesanto), but would still choose to stay in this place rather than the ones near Piazza Garibaldi. The staff were also very nice, they helped me book taxi whenever i need to leave early for tours.
