I thought the bathroom was nice. Very small but nice and clean

The scary, dark, cold hallway that lead to my room! Freaked me out I’m not gonna lie. Also the elevators were outdated and creepy. I prayed each time that I don’t get stuck inside. I didn’t receive the fruit and hand sanitizer that I thought I read came with every room. I felt like I got jipped. The room was clean but extremely small. I couldn’t even fit but one water bottle in the fridge. Everything was small including the bathroom sink.

Very aesthetically with a very helpful staff location was very nice

My only complaint was it could be noisy in the hallway. The door didn’t lock out much noise.

Love this place … and its legacy as the once (infamous?) George Washington Hotel. It’s glorious hybrid of old/school NY and casual contemporary with a vaguely scandi-vibe.

The staff are great and relaxed - almost too casual and relaxed. The urban street cred vibe is charming enough at the price the attitude edge from some is a bit rich - perhaps tone it down a notch.

I loved the art, and everything about the hotel, from the lobby to the just the overall aesthetic.

I stayed in room 901, the door next to the room was a staff room, and they were super loud constantly. Throwing things done the stairs I couldn’t sleep in the morning…

Its a vary cute place and the rooms are comfortable. Also the breakfast is amazing.

It could be a little bit cleaner - the coverlet on the bet had some dirt on it.

The bathroom of the room was updated and clean, with good water pressure. I called the morning of to ask if there was a potential for an early check in time - they told me no but that I could drop off my luggage at the hotel in the meantime. When I got to the hotel they said the room was actually ready, which was great! I booked a queen and ended up with a king sized bed, which was very comfortable. The rooftop bar was fabulous. The decor in the lobby is very nice. I did not see any bugs. The location was great and we were able to walk to many bars close by.

The room was a bit dark and the lights flickered. The carpet in the room was weirdly sticky. The hallways were also quite dark. There was a gentleman host at the rooftop bar who was a bit rude when we asked if we could go to the bar because we did not have reservations. The rooftop bar is quite nice though and there is open seating so a reservation is not required we found out from the bartender, who was kind.

Clean and very comfortable room in the centre of Manhattan, complete with airconditioning and daily housekeeping. The room had an ideal size for me as a solo traveller, but will probably feel a bit small for two people - although I think that according to New York standards it's more than worthy. Perfect location to start off every day to go and explore a new New York neigbourhood. The friendly staff at the register made checking in and out a matter of minutes.

The music in the lift was a tad too loud. As my room was directly across from it, I could hear the music late at night when the doors opened. But that's a minor detail; earplugs are always a good idea in a city like New York, no matter where you're staying, and they helped me with this issue as well.

I did like the location a lot. It’s well situated to the subway and from there it’s just a train or two away to whatever I wanted to see. The staff were really responsive to my request to move rooms after the first night and the new room was much better. The cafe on the first floor was delightful for breakfast and the staff there were as friendly as the hotel employees.

I had requested a quiet room when I made the booking. The first night I stayed in a room that was above a bar and the noise/music from the bar was so loud I couldn’t get to sleep until after 2:00 a.m. The room was also tiny with almost no room to put my suitcase anywhere. I get it’s Manhattan and this building used to house students, so maybe it was just my expectations that were misplaced.

Location, cleanliness, facilities, room size, moneys worth. Everything was great.

The only thing that bummed us a but was that the person at the counter while checking in didn't say anything. All they did was charge my card the refundable 200$ (without telling us what they were doing) and tell us the room number. No welcome, no info, nothing. When we checked out the person at the counter was way friendlier and more active. We saw them handing our water bottles to everyone checking in, nothing we got when we arrived.

The room was small but it had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and they were able to keep our bags all day after we checked out until we caught our plane in the evening. The hotel looks good, it's not modern but quite charming.

There's a constant noise from air conditioning machines or vents of some kind if you have a room not facing the street. I assume that you'd be affected by traffic noise if the room faced the street anyway, so not sure there's a good option here. In any case, bring ear plugs and that should solve it if you're just looking for a place to rest at night but you actually spend most of the day out. If you want a place to stay, relax in your room and so on, maybe not the best choice. Aside from that, considering that I found a really good offer through Booking, not much to complain about. It's a simple small room but the decor is nice, and it was quite clean, with daily housekeeping and change of towels.
