If you can't afford staying in the historic centre, then Camplus Bonogna is an excellent choice. 24/7 reception, speedy replies in all our questions before our trip, even assistance with a train strike and our tickets, always smiling and willing to help, safe area, many bus lines accommodating transport to any part of the city, good breakfast but also options for lunch and dinner with only 13 euros a person, spacious, quiet room, hot water and bath amenities. 15' from the airport, 10' from the central train station and only 4' from the San Vitale, train staton, all taxis we requested came in less than 3' and you can walk to the center in 30'. Even the coffee from the automatic selling machine was great! Modern design and lots of green around. Would definitely recommend it and go back!

Beds do not have a protective waterproof sheet, which they should as children, but also adults, may have accidents affecting the hygiene of the mattresses. In our case, only 1 of the 3 beds was fully prepared (protective sheet but not waterproof, 2 sheets and quilt). The other two were missing the protective sheet, and one of them was also missing one sheet. We asked for additional and got them from the reception. There were no additional pillows available, so we used decorative ones. Floor could have been better cleaned. But overall, nothing major to report or that wasn't addressed promptly by the reception staff.

Absolutely hidden gem in Bologna. Friendly hotel staff and speaks English (not common in Italy surprisingly) but they are really attentive and were so kind when our kid had nosebleed during our stay. Clean room and cleaner cleans them every day - which is not common in other hotels, definitely a plus! Close proximity to Bologna, half an hour walk may sound long but the scenery makes you forget about the time. Great food nearby, see my other review if interested, but! the canteen food are great - we had breakfast (included), lunch and dinner, which we paid only during our checkout, at a very affordable rate of €4 per meal and the quality is really nice. Had so many croissants during our four night stay! Pistachio croissants were our favourite! Coffee and beverage all available during meal time. You can refill your water in canteen at the machine - available throughout the day. Couldn’t have hope for more but would definitely stay next time. Huge thank you for all hotel staff and the canteen staff! It was great to stay amongst the university students - felt young again 😂

However we did buy our own shampoo and body wash as the provided ones were quite dry - but hey just pay a tiny fee to get the ones you want.

Very friendly and helpful staff on the desk every day and night. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Useful vending machines in the foyer and very nice hot & cold breakfast included. Great location for access to Bologna San Vitale Station from where you can get train to Centrale to access Marconi Express monorail to/from airport, and the other way is a direct train to Imola, among other cities. We will definitely be back next time we visit Bologna.

Really need to put a safe in the rooms so we don't need to carry passports and valuables everywhere. Would have been nice to have a bar to enjoy drinks in the evening, as the staff on reception can't offer any refreshments. There is a social club opposite side of road, but has a weird atmosphere. Also the vending machines only take coins, and staff can't give change, so it's time to update them to accept notes or better still, contactless cards

Room and bed (pillows!) were excellent

Breakfast in a student hall- rather a lot of noise and mess (tables not clean, rubbish on the floor). Room was on a rather busy road, with traffic starting early; parking was very difficult

- Superfriendly and helpful lady at the reception - Breakfast was more than satisfactory, although for some people selection of savoury options might be too limited - Machine with cold/sparkling water where you can refill your bottle 24/7 - Dinner available for 13Eur is totally worth the price - Room was larger than the usual hotel room (because it's intended for a long-term rental by students), had many outlets, a small fridge and a small balcony - The room was cleaned every day - The hotel is 8min away from a train station Bologna San Vitale

The only downsides were - a little noisy in the hallways in the evenings (but not at night, just in the evenings) - this a student dormitory, and that is to be expected. If the door was more soundproof, that probably would not be an issue at all - lack of hangers in the room - at least one would be enough for me

The room was clean and modern, with a large bathroom space. Having a door that opened out onto the balcony fence was a big bonus as I really appreciate getting fresh air in when I can. If you're a solo traveler, it's really ideal - don't be put off by the student accommodation aspect, as you would hardly notice at all. It's a 15 minute walk into the centre of Bologna, and benefits from peace and quiet being slightly out of the hustle and bustle. One thing to note, is of course you will owe tourist tax on checkout - which I believe is approximately €4 per night if you're staying solo. You can pay this with your usual payment cards, as you'd expect. I'd definitely stay here again when in Bologna - a great spot!

We spent 4 nights here with breakfast. The accommodation was perfectly fine. The size of the room was not large, but it was fully adequate for relaxing after sightseeing. The bathroom was always clean and relatively large. Towels were changed daily. The room was absolutely quiet, no noise filtered in either from the corridor or from another room. The reception colleagues were very kind and helpful, especially the gentleman with red glasses, who greeted us cheerfully every morning. I arrived well before the check-in time, but I was able to leave the luggage at the reception for safekeeping. For which I thank you very much. The hostel is a little outside the city center, but the Bologna Centrale train station can be reached in 5 minutes by train, you just have to pay attention, because the train rarely runs. (Or you can go by bus approx. 20-30 minutes)

The breakfast selection was not very large, it was a bit monotonous, but regardless, we were always able to start the morning with a full stomach.

Overall, I highly recommend Camplus Bononia for travelers seeking a clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced accommodation in Bologna. The combination of excellent service, modern facilities, and convenient location made my stay memorable.

Very kind and helpful staff at reception. We had to leave at 5 a.m., they prepared breakfast to go and were careful to give me gluten free. Looks very clean, good for a few nights stay. Has restsurant at ground floor, it's like a campus. Taxi from hotrl to airport at 5 a.m. was 25 Eur anf it took us 15 mjn to get there.

We weren't quite sure what we'd find here but were pleasantly surprised. The building seems to be a hotel and student place of some kind, never did quite fathom it, but it proved an excellent choice. Very helpful staff, including leaving our luggage in reception until 8pm for collection on the day we left, a gym (no, we didn't, but it was there!), a really excellent breakfast. The hotel's location just 6 minutes' walk from Bologna San Vitale suburban railway station with its frequent trains may appeal to fellow rail travellers. A most enjoyable stay.
