We had a fantastic stay at Savhotel Aemilia in Bologna. The hotel offers a delicious and varied breakfast with plenty of options to suit all tastes. Our room was spacious, very modern, and impeccably clean, with a beautiful view overlooking the old town of Bologna.The hotel also has the convenience of private parking, which made arriving and exploring the area stress-free. The hotel is located about a 20-minute walk from Bologna’s old town, so it’s close enough to enjoy all the main attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat from the center. Overall, we were very impressed with the quality, comfort, and service at Savhotel Aemilia. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bologna

Reception staff 10/10, cleanliness 10/10, bar staff 10/10.

Breakfast. Not surprised it was typical Italian hotel food. Lots of sweet things, not a lot of healthy food. Eg muesli was either sweet or chocolate, no basic oats or muesli without sugar. No semi or skimmed milk. Fruit juice was not fresh, but out of a packet. Fruits were tasteless and seemed to be old. For the unhealthy stuff the bacon was so poor, the fried eggs had fat congealed around the edge. No sign that omelettes might be available or porridge. Also, the breakfast area felt like it wasn’t properly managed, it just carried on. In summary, breakfast was the only area we found poor in the hotel.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful in recommendations on restaurants and suggestions on what to see/not see - great group across-the-board. The location of the hotel was perfect for us - we prefer not to be in an overly busy area to avoid crowds and noise. Access to the noise and crowds was close enough to walk so that added a big bonus. Housekeeping was awesome - really nice and polite.

The gym was small but workable. The breakfast was okay (tried it once) but the staff supporting breakfast mostly just stood around - a bit odd.

I had the most delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable, greeting me with warm smiles and offering helpful recommendations for local attractions. The room was immaculately clean, spacious, and beautifully designed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a busy day. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the high-quality toiletries, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel’s dining options were also top-notch, with delicious meals and a relaxing atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a wide variety of fresh options to start the day. The location couldn’t have been better, with convenient access to nearby shops, restaurants, and cultural sites. I truly can't recommend this hotel enough! Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, the hotel offers an unbeatable combination of luxury, service, and convenience. I'll definitely be back!

Everything was amazing

fabulous breakfast with lots of choices on offer. Lovely meal in the resteraunt in the evening . Hotel Staff are really helpful both in the resteraunt and at the front desk. Huge bedrooms very modern and spotlessly clean. The roof top garden is a great space and the hot tub is a nice touch. Great views of Bologna from the roof. We walked into Town and took a taxi back , maily as it was so hot . Highly recommend this hotel and I would use again if I am ever back in Bologna

There wasnt anything we did not like , quite content to walk or take a taxi into town . Not an awful lot in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but this was okay with us as it was a little bit quiter than the main part of the city. The walk into town may be abit of a stretch for those not used to or in favour of a reasonable walk. Taxis are very affordable and the train station is the place to go to get a return taxi

The Aemilia Hotel is a modern and comfortable hotel located near the old city walls of Bologna and about a 20-25 minute walk from the Piazza Maggiore, in the center of Bologna. During our 5 -day stay, we often walked to the city center. We used Bologna as a base to visit other towns, and the walk to the central train station was also 20-25 minutes. The hotel offers all the services of a 4-star hotel, and the staff was very good. The hotel offered a good breakfast (included with our room) and convenient paid underground parking. Our room was nice sized and modern with a modern bathroom. The king-sized bed was comfortable and there was good closet and shelf space on the room. We enjoyed our stay.

We loved it.

The outstanding feature of this hotel was the wonderful personality of the very young staff members: the former greeted us and booked us in, and also farewelled us as we left. The latter attended to a very complicated invoicing process, again a young man with a mass of curly hair who was also a great ornament for the hotel. I don’t know how the figure rating will come out, but these two are jewels in a landscape of hotel service which is often very average or poor. The hotel itself is otherwise quite OK, but position, size and an early hiccup at breakfast would have me rate it about a 7.5, elevated to 8+ because of the two staff members I have mentioned. Also, having suffered a poor breakfast here in Venice for five days, I should mention that the food at this time of day is good. We also dined one night, and the food was very acceptable. In 50 years of travel to 70 countries I have given 9s three times only, but received an email inviting me to do that here. The email should not have been sent: rejoice in your wonderful young staff…..

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay here good. If it's your first stay at the hotel, they provide a coupon for a welcome drink at the hotel bar, which was lovely. The bartender was very friendly and kind! We also had an issue where our keycards became deactivated during the day, so when we returned to the room we were unable to get in. We only had to go down to the lobby and get them reprogrammed, but the desk clerk gave us more drink coupons, which was unnecessary but kind of them. The room was fairly spacious and clean, and we had an excellent view of central Bologna. The wifi was fast enough that I was able to Facetime family, which was a rarity on our trip throughout Europe. All in all, our stay was wonderful!

It was about a 20 minute walk into the city center to see the main sights of Bologna, which is not terrible but it's certainly not centrally located. This was not a problem for us, but it is something that others should be aware of. The AC system also was only average, it worked, but it never really got chilly enough in the room for our preference. Additionally, the rooms use the system of needing to put in a key to start the electricity, and in this case meant the AC turned off whenever we were out, so we always returned a quite stiflingly warm room. This was not terribly in late May/early June, but certainly would be worse in the height of summer.

Liked almost everything but hairdryer if I had to offer a negative needs to be better A spare pillow would have been great and the tv channels could have offered more English speaking channels. The bar area was good n often had nibbles but there were long periods when it was not open during the day which was inconvenient. Also to note for guests wanting a taxi to the centre always ask the staff to order a taxi as we paid a lot of money on expensive trips until the receptionist suggested they book.. the fare was halved..

The location and the friendliness of the stuff was great, we were travelling with a dog and they gave us a little box with goodies for him which was lovely! The covered parking was also great and good value for money. Just 20 minutes walk from the centre. We asked a few recommendations to the stuff on where to eat and they were great!

Our room was one of the first ones in a hallway and close to the elevator so unfortunately we could hear guests walking up and down and the elevator which for us personally wasn't a problem but as we were travelling with our dog he was a bit unsettled because of this. Saying that, we didn't think it was going to be an issue so we didn't ask to change the room which I'm sure they would have done if we asked.
