The villa is brilliant — feels like staying in a museum on on a movie set for a night. Large beautifully decorated room, private access to the garden, very comfortable bed. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. Ms. Mazzini made us a wonderful breakfast and indulged our late checkout. We cannot wait to return

You should beware of two things, which aren’t exactly criticisms, just notes. First, which is pretty obvious from the pictures, there is no shower — only a large bath. While we enjoyed it massively, that is something to consider especially if you prefer a quick rinse. Second, be aware that you will not have the key to the front gate. That means you will have to call/message the hosts to let you in and out.

the third bed (we were a group of three) was extremely uncomfortable, all three of us tried it and it was terrible. The room is mostly used for two people I imagine, or those with a child where it doesn’t matter so much, but the mattress was so very tired it was awful. Given the beautiful details everywhere else it seemed an oddly easy thing to put right at minimal cost but still, there it was. Road out front was pretty noisy in the small hours and rush hours. Back bedroom would not have had this problem.

Everything about this location was perfect. The breakfast was plentiful, the host was kind, and the rooms were amazing. The bath tub was great for a relaxing, hot bath. The villa is only a 20 min walk to the city center and plenty of cafes and restaurants along the way. We would rate the villa 15/10 and we hope to be back!

staying at Villa Benni was like stepping back in time! The villa is beautiful, the room spacious and very clean. Like other reviews say, there is no shower but it is quite nice to bathe like they would have done in the past! We loved the beautiful breakfast in the morning- delcious fruits, yoghurt, cakes, frittata- all extremely generous. The location is great if you have a car, we walked into town which is only about 20mins walk away.

Beautiful property with friendly owner and staff. We only stayed one night but wished we stayed more days. Breakfast was huge and delicious. About 20 minutes easy walk to the city center which is mostly covered for hot days.

Truly felt transported back in time. Well kept, clean, and breakfast was fantastic! Close walking to centre in 15-20 mins. Owners were fabulous and we appreciated them telling us the story of Villa Benni, and how the Villa came to be as it is today.

Steeped in history, very grand accommodation. A lot of space. A private home in gated grounds and a short walk from city centre. Excellent breakfast and host. The perfect place to stay in Bologna with or without a car.

absolutely GRAND. just a big « wow » upon arrival. an ancient villa that kept all its splendor, hard to believe we got to stay there, felt like a privilege. super thoughtful hosts. delicious and generous breakfast.

a tiny note - the bathtub did not have a shower head so we had to bathe « old school ». it’s part of the ancient charm but i would maybe recommend adding one?

All the people in villa very fiendly, we felt like a part of their family. Room very nice equipped with antiques. No TV, it would disrupt the atmosphere. Will definitely come back.
