When we arrived we are in awe of the castle and surroundings...it was absolutely gorgeous! The 2-bedroom suite was comfortable and well-appointed. The room was steps away from a very large patio overlooking the country-side. The dining room was beautiful and the breakfast delicious, offering a wide variety of food choices. The little town next to the castle was quaint with a few restaurants, a central square and a beautiful church. On the other side of the castle was a more populated town within walking distance with restaurants (great family pizzaria). Our hostess was kind and helpful. Make sure you ask for a tour of the castle!

We arrived on a Monday and left on Wednesday. Many of the restaurants in the area were closed Monday and/or Tuesday. However, this is not a reflection of where we stayed.

Lovely family run hotel with historical significance, commissioned by Cosimo I of Medici who was the Grand Duke of Tuscany, and part of a Renaissance fortified town. The hotel was in a valley surrounded by the beautiful hills of Romagna. The lady owner was very friendly and she and her son chatted with us on the terrace. She also gave us a lot of information about the castle's history. The breakfast was great, we could see she has made huge effort to prepare the amazing breakfast.

Just a minor detail - The shampoo sachets were impossible to open with bare hands. I had to use my nail cutter. The restaurant was closed as they have a wedding when we stayed, but the loud music stopped at around 10:30pm which was fine.

A great location, this medieval castle. Our host (the lady of the castle) was very welcoming, making us feel at home. The castle has five beautiful rooms that are all well furnished and comfortable. Great breakfast, afterwards relaxing in the 2-petson jacuzzi - amd a stroll in the magnificent castle gardens. Tip: the art-deco “Therma” from the 1930s… now a great Spa, where time seems to stand still.

The location and the Castello were a dream come true. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The hosts are exceptionally friendly and attentive. We stayed in the main suite and enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the terrace with a magestic view over the hills and the city. We‘ll definitely come back!

This place is a hidden gem! The owner and staff were extremely hospitable, welcoming and kind. She made suggestions for things to see and do in the area, and staying in a 500 year-old castle was a special treat. Would highly recommend, and I hope to return next time I visit Italy.

This property, a castle, is quite amazing. The castle has been updated but retains its centuries-old flavor. The setting, especially in autumn, is beautiful from every window. The staff was kind and helpful. The family owner graciously served us our breakfast. Parking is available conveniently on the property. The heating and hot water were excellent. What a wonderful place from which to enjoy the vineyards, the kiwi fields, expanses of lawns and beautiful trees. Enchanting.
