After 2600km of driving through Italy, this was the final stop before heading home. And what a final stop it was. It is hard to imagine that 20 or so years ago, this was a heap of ruins that were transformed into the fairytale castle you can only imagine. Each space is perfectly designed and decorated with plenty of secluded areas where you can unwind and relax. Breakfast was superb, and the bed was almost as comfy as the one at home. We were sad to leave, but we will return soon.

We had an absolutely amazing week at Castello di Granarola. The castle is beautifully restored, blending historic charm with modern comfort. Our spacious room even had a kitchen, and breakfasts were generous and delicious. The pool and terrace offer breathtaking views, especially at sunset with an aperitivo (best part of the day). What made the stay extra special were the weekly events: a special BBQ dinner on Tuesday night with local food and great atmosphere, and the Thursday “Follow the Sun” aperitivo event with live music, the perfect way to unwind while watching the sun set over the hills. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The location is peaceful and well-situated: a great local restaurant right next door, just 15 minutes to the sea, and close to cycling, horse riding, and small towns with top-notch cuisine. Le Marche is a stunning, authentic region — rolling hills, sea views, and thankfully still off the beaten tourist track. We’ll definitely be back!

Location was fabulous and all the staff were great. Good that there was provision for food during the day and evening via the bar area too if you don't want to drive out to a restaurant. Honesty bar is a great addition, though we didn't use it. Breakfast was really good and varied in terms of produce.

Towards the end of our stay we found out there was a 2nd pool (adult only) across the road, but there aren't any refreshments there. Lots of families with young kids playing games etc in the main pool so it would have been good to know about the other one, can't remember seeing it mentioned but maybe we missed it in the description.

Hands down one of the most comfortable, stylish and beautiful places I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. No detail is left to chance: from the carefully crafted metal shower doors (!) to the coloured-water bottles used as a room divider… Ceramic lamps designed (like everything else) by the owner inside and out give dappled light without obscuring the fantastic views. We should have stayed a week!

The best welcome we had on our trip in Italy. Reception staff were lovely. Quirky hotel, with lots of hidden places to sit and great views. Beautiful renovation.

Shame that hot tub/sauna weren’t working, we could have asked but they didn’t seem available.Breakfast system didn’t work, there was a queue whilst we selected what we wanted one by one. All felt abit odd and uncomfortable.

My husband and I really enjoyed the time we spent in Granarola. It was the best retreat ever to celebrate our anniversary. Romantic and quiet, relaxing and outstandigly beautiful with the best view of my beloved hills and the Adriatic Sea. We had a blast and the amazing staff at Granarola made it possible. We will for sure come back next year!

Tutto perfetto! The staff was very kind and helpful! We immediately fall in love in this place. Our room was very clean and comfortable with modern one of a kind design. We will visit Castello di Granarola again for sure!

There’s no such a thing!

Very beautiful surrounds. Lovely large rooms with comfortable bed. The views are gorgeous and lovely staff.

Cleaning needs attention. Showers were not well cleaned and the bottles (art installation) were covered in dust.

The shower in our room could be better. That is the only comment I would have.

All brilliant, only minor point (just as a tip) is that perhaps breakfast could be slightly improved but all together just very very good ++++
