The breakfast was better than expected. My partner is vegan and they went out of their way to make sure she had enough vegan food to eat every morning. Beautifully restored historical villa, exceptional place and wonderful people making you feel at home, the staff were just brilliant they made us feel part of their family! The room was excellent, a massive comfy bed, the space well designed. The property is a couple of minutes walk to the old town of Lecce. Would we recommend this place to our friends and family? YOU BET!

There wasn't anything we didn't like about the property. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff bent over backwards to help.

This is the perfect place to stay in Lecce. It is right on the city walls, so a short walk to everything. The pool and gardens are divine! Our room had everything we needed. It was quite spacious with a good sized bathroom and closet. The staff are what makes this place really special. Milena, the manager, is so helpful with information about anything and everything! Stefanie gives the best breakfast service, encouraging you to try all the local specialities. Having the family living upstairs is very special. They make you feel like special guests. I'd come back in a heartbeat!

Where to start? From the first couple of interactions with Milena, I knew our stay here would be special. Before arriving I asked if she could recommend a nice restaurant for dinner for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary and she suggested we enjoy one of their experiences which is a traditional flavors of Puglia served in their private garden. I’m so glad we chose this as the way to celebrate our anniversary. It was beautiful, unique, delicious and very special. Oh and they were very generous portions. The attention to every detail and their warm reception added to the experience. We met the entire family and we felt welcomed by all of them. We also decided to take part in their cooking class the next day. It was also a beautiful experience. Maria Gracia was a great teacher and so patient with us. The father checked in and the mother and brothers, Vittorio and Giacomo joined in making orrechietti (and serving the wine) which really added to the personalized experience. Breakfast was prepared every day by Stefani, who was also very attentive to our needs. The room was very comfortable with air conditioning, private bathroom, private patio where we enjoyed our breakfast every day and located right in the historic center. Milena was there every day to provide recommendations and answer any questions. She also helped reserve our parking just behind the house. By the end of our 3 night stay we felt like we were part of their family. We hope to return in the future with our daughters. Grazie Mille!

Everything was wonderful

The historic 'mansion' and it's location are fabulous and having a pool to come back to on a really hot day was a real bonus. Milena was there to greet us and looked after us really well. We met the son of the owners (who live upstairs but were travelling) and his family who were charming and very welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this very special place. They kindly laid a table outside in the courtyard for our breakfast and the garden is gorgeous.

Nothing really. Perhaps the reception area could be re-arranged slightly to create a comfortable seating area for guests who perhaps want to sit inside but not necessarily in their rooms.

The perfect place to stay in Salento: very close to Lecce city center and still an oasis of relaxation. By car, you are in driving distance to nearly all Salento region. Next to this, the stay is glamourous and unique. The hosts are very warm and kind. The breakfast is excellent, especially you receive a speedy course to prepare your own frise and bruschetta. We also loved the beautiness and charm, both of the interior as well as the lovely garden. We will certainly come back.

Great location in a quiet area, few steps away from the city center. The room was excellent, the space well designed, ensuring a very comfortable stay. Rich breakfast proposing salty and sweet delicacies. The staff was really helpful and kind. Milena organised our stay in the best way possible and gave us highly valuable suggestions, tips and advice about what to visit and where to eat. On top of all this, our dog was very much welcome and treated like a king. Truly amazing experience!

We cannot speak highly enough about our experience at Dimora Historica Muratore. Even before we arrived, Milena was so helpful in giving us information and even arranging cars for side trips from Lecce. The facility is amazing. The gardens are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and perfectly appointed. We had breakfast each morning on our private patio. The food was delicious. We were also able to enjoy an exquisite meal prepared by Sra. Muratore in their private dining room. The location of the property is so convenient to the historic town of Lecce. We are already looking forward to another visit at this amazing inn.

Beautiful house the location was perfect having a pool was a huge bonus in 37 degree heat, the staff and family were lovely very helpful and went above and beyond to help you.

The only thing I can say and this is being extremely picky but the noise in the mornings while they are setting up for breakfast can be annoying especially if you want to lie on and maybe an umbrella over the breakfast table outside would be nice as it gets very hot.

This place is a revelation and it deserves the first 10 I've ever given in a review. The location just inside Lecce old city perimeter is superb making an easy walk to all the sights, restaurants, cafe's etc. whilst also being less than a 10 minute walk to a nearby car park; useful if you're renting a car for a few days. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the generous hospitality, the cleanliness, comfort and styling of this amazing classic villa with 4 rooms on the ground floor. Breakfast was filling with a great choice and it could be taken either in the ground floor dining area or just outside your own room which we opted for on the warmer days. There was a very warm welcome which sustained throughout our stay with helpful advice and tips to make our plans all the more enjoyable. We slept well as very peaceful at night despite being an easy walk to busier areas for food, drink etc. The beaches along the Adriatic coast are an easy reach by car or bus. Daytrips very worthwhile for Matera and for Alberobello/Ostuni. We also enjoyed sunny times relaxing in the grounds and beside the pool.

No suggestions. The weather is outwith anyones control and it was unusually cool and wet during part of our stay.

Dimora Storica Muratore is Italian for historic mansion house. That is exactly what it is. Owner & wife live on the upper levels. A fantastic place. Staff was wonderful, the place well-appointed and a great location. Not only in relation to old town Lecce, but as a base for visiting the heel area. Everything is an easy distance from Lecce. They also have a pool, which is a bonus after the miles of walking one puts in. We drove, so hindsight being 20/20, we would have parked first in the paid lot in Via Adua (right across the street) and walked to the entrance (around back) on Via Luigi Scarembone. Especially, if you don't have much luggage. Way easier than navigating the narrow street.
