We weren't actually in the hotel, but in their self-catering apartment. It was very central, close to restaurants and bakeries, which the hotel staff kindly marked on a map for us. Comfortable bed.

It was noisy, because although it was on a first floor, there were often noises from the (pedestrianised) street in the middle of the night. But management had provided earplugs for this. Also the apartment was up a steep flight of stairs, which is fine if you are fit, but would not suit some, dragging suitcases up and down being a bit of a challenge.

The location was perfect for us, just off the main drag and was quiet. The entrance and courtyard to the property added so much character to it. Our room was a good size with plenty of storage/hanging space. Good size bathroom, the shower was a little hard to navigate trying to not flood the floor! Breakfast was ok, offered a range of different foods maybe just not to our taste. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we were there for a wedding and we borrowed an ironing board nothing was too much trouble.,

The shower, you couldn't have the shower screen flush as it leaked and flooded the floor.

We stayed in a separate apartment not far from the main building. It was very well equipped and comfortable. Marta, our host was accommodating and kind. Lucca is a nice little town, an ideal starting location to explore Tuscany by train or car.

The apartment is on the 1st floor but the stairs - especially the last few - are high and steep, I am not sure a senior guest can accomplish to climb them. Certainly not with a suitcase. The electricity power in the apartment is suboptimal. For example, you cannot use the water heater, the air conditioning and a hair dryer simultaneously. The apartment is a ten-minute walk from the parking lot which is quite a long distance when you are with several items of luggage for a 8-day stay. The cobblestones don't help either... Since the apartment is in the central tourist area of the city, the streets below are quite loud until about 2 am.

Marta was wonderful, both in correspondence before we arrived and while we stayed. The location is superb. Lucca is so lovely and the morning walk round the walls was highly recommended.

Marta sent excellent instructions and we located the parking, which is nearby, easily. However Lucca's one way system and narrow streets mean you need to be very careful to follow the provided instructions and not your satnav - which can often lose your exact location. No fault of the property or Lucca but something to be aware of.

This is the second time I have stayed at Busdraghi. They have the same staff now as they did before - and to me that says a lot. Always friendly and welcoming. They are prepared to go the extra mile to help. The breakfasts are excellent. I defy anyone not to find something they like - cakes, fruit, salami, cheese, several kind of bread, tomatoes, several jams, honey, Nutella, fruit juice, cereals, croissants, eggs, frittata - superb. And the position is right on the Via Filungo - very central for everything.

My only problem was opening the heavy door that led from the courtyard into the Via Filungo - but given my age and size, that is really more a comment about me!

The location was fantastic. Just step out onto the street from the covered courtyard and you are right in the middle of things with places to visit, bars, coffee shops and restaurants. The breakfast was very good with continental choice and great coffee. The spa bath in our room was much needed after the walking we did around town and outside by the river.

It was a little bit noisy with a street outside but it was festival weekend so it was very busy. Ear plugs are supplied so not really an issue as it's situation, history, views are just stunning.

I loved the location and historic residence. The room was well appointed and very comfortable with extra pillows and blankets, with antique furniture. The room overlooks the lively street, so it was not very quiet. The breakfast was great, fresh baked pastries, eggs, ham, cereals and juices. Fresh coffee made to order. The staff was very friendly, multi cultural and multi lingual.

No complaints at all.

The apartment is spacious well equipped and quite comfortable. The hostesses at the hotel where you check in and out were quite friendly, helpful and gracious. The dishwasher was a nice addition.

The apartment is actually not in the Palazzo hotel but a few blocks away in a converted ancient Tower building. It is one story above the very busy main pedestrian thoroughfare and you can hear noise quite well, sometimes until 2:00 a.m.

I really loved the location of the hotel, but most of all I loved the helpful ladies at the reception. They were so friendly that really made my day. Especially the lady when we made the check in, was so kind and helped us beyond our expectations. Also she was always smiling and ready to help, extra credits only for her! The hotel was very quiet and clean, classic italian style with that elegant vibe around. We felt just like home!

Everyone in our family group of 9 people enjoyed the visit. The breakfast was terrific. The food was tasty, beautifully arranged and very inviting. There was a good variety too, with fruit, baked treats, and some non-sweet options like eggs. Our hostess, Marta, was kind and accommodating. I wanted more coffee right as breakfast service was ending. She insisted on making me a fresh cup and brought out all the rolls again, arranging them for me to choose from.

A stripe of reflective safety paint would be helpful to mark the places where there's an unexpected step. Right now these blend in and could be a tripping or falling hazard.
