The owners were incredibly sweet and accommodating! Only two rooms at this B&B so incredibly quiet, even though the location is a popular area! We had a very nice continental breakfast every morning with delicious breads, cakes, fruit, juices, coffee, yogurt, and granola. The location was amazing! You walk right out into a popular area with shops, restaurants, etc. Walking distance to absolutely everything! I would not hesitate to stay at this location again and will recommend it to anyone I know that plans on traveling to Lucca. Thank you for an amazing stay at your wonderful B & B!

Brilliant location in the old city, close to the old wall and lots of bars and restaurants. Our room was huge, spotless and very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous, with a great selection of sweet and savoury, fresh fruit and juices, and of course a gorgeous homemade cake from Francesca every day. We especially liked the ricotta and chocolate one, I forgot to ask her for the recipe! Best of all was the welcome and hospitality of our hosts, Francesca and Luigi, they were so friendly and kind, it felt like staying in someone's home. We genuinely can't wait to return. An absolute gem.

The breakfast was delicious and always plentiful. The location was nice being right in the area of the shops and restaurants below us. The room was large and comfortable. The hosts were so friendly and helpful when we had questions about the area. Our room was made up daily and fresh towels provided. Our stay was highly enjoyable and we hope we can return some day.

The corner bar across the street we heard some noise at night, but it didn’t keep us awake. If someone were a very light sleeper, maybe that could be an issue —but it was not a problem for us.

This property is a hidden gem- it is centrally located, on a main street, yet our room was super quiet as it faced an inner courtyard. Our hosts, Francesca and Luigi, were very kind and hospitable— they provided us a delicious breakfast every morning. The room was spacious and comfortable; air conditioning, wifi and TV worked well. We will definitely return to this wonderful place!

Very quiet room located not far inside the walled town near to easy blue parking. Our kind host met us. 1 of 2 spotless rooms in a typical italian old apartment building. A few minutes walk from everything with the best small bar for aperitivo just across the street. Modern bathroom with great shower, comfy bed and modern minimalist decor. Delightful hosts and an amazing breakfast that will see you through the day :) We loved it.

Luigi and Francesca are the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Luigi met us very promptly on arrival and showed us around. The location was perfect, five minutes from the walls which encircle the old city. The road Via Fillungo is very vibrant and atmospheric and is very close to great bars and restaurants. Luigi very kindly returned later in the day for us to collect our bags as we had an afternoon train to catch on our departure day. The breakfast was excellent. Great coffee and savoury choices as well as wonderful home made cake. Grazie mille per un bellissimo soggiorno Luigi and Francesca

Absolutely nothing

Central location in Lucca , in old part of town inside City walls.Easy access to everything. Room was spotlessly clean with lots of brightness. Great shower and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was excellent a real treat of homemade food from Francesca and Luigi who couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and at ease. And son Lorenzo was always available if needed. A very relaxing stay .

Lovely B&B located in the heart of Lucca, surprisingly quiet for its location. Well-equipped, clean and specious room, stylish bathroom. Excellent breakfast with local produce and homemade cakes. And last but not least , the owners.... are fabulous hosts , very kind and welcoming, and extremely helpful in accommodating any requests. Highly recommended!

Very good location for my needs. Lovely breakfasts. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Room well equipped. Room and whole apartment very smart. Sky News on TV was a bonus, helping me keep in touch with events.

The mattress was too firm for me, but this is a personal preference. I have noticed that Italian rooms normally have firmer mattresses than UK rooms.

I strongly recommend B&B Antico Cancelo if you are in Lucca The host Luigi and Francesca are amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience The quality of the B&B is amazing, spacious room, super clean, renovated bathroom and a really nice breakfast It is in the hearth of Lucca , steps away from all the nice restaurants and shops near Piazza Anfitiatro We will definitely be back there the next time we are in Lucca
