It way a perfect stay. Like the town of Matera is out of this world, and the accommodation made our stay even more enjoyable. The host kept in touch with us before our arrival. Once we arived, he welcomed us and gave us useful advice on the tour round the town as well as which restaurants were worth visiting. The room Gas a jacuzzi, which is just awesome. And what is more, our breakfast was delivered rught in fron of our room and it could be eaten in the bed or at the table. The room is also equipped with a coffee maker and a kettle so you can make tea or coffee anytime.

So happy so Stayed 3 nights. Extremely good value for money. Location is at least 1km or 15-20mins leisurely walk to the historic centre. But if you don’t wish to walk, there’s 5-6 buses you can take from the bus stop (a very convenient 1 minute walk away from Antica Mateola) to the start of the Sassi Route or the historic old town route. And back with the same buses. Only 1.50€ cash on-bus payment). The trip takes only 2mins over 3 stops or more if you wish to proceed to the centre of the historic town outskirts. The bus driver and practically everyone including the motorists are extremely polite and hospitable. Very impressive ppl!!

The host is very helpful , and the host prepared a ia full guide of the attractions in the zone to get around easily, and gives you a map with very detailed instructions. it’s 1km away from the historical center but away from all the noise. It has the option for self check in which is very convenient when your flight lands after hours

The bed is not very comfortable, and the bed covers are not the newest but it’s not terrible.

We liked everything. We were given a very warm welcome, great tips on where to go, and even helped with finding a parking spot and getting our luggage to our room. Breakfast included in the price was way more than what we expected and gave us a taste of Matera first thing in the morning. We can confidently say that we found our spot for the night whenever we are in Matera. Highly recommend them.

It is a beautiful and extraordinary place, staying there is a pleasure. Beautiful, stylish, one-of-a-kind interior, lots of surprises, perfect cleanliness, delicious breakfast with croissants specially brought from the bakery. It is an ideal base for exploring Matera and the surrounding area, and we enthusiastically recommend it. Giuseppe, thank you for your hospitality! We will remember our stay at Antica Mateola for a long time!

I have no criticisms.

We couldn't meet the host as we arrived very late. However, he sent us a video how to enter the room from outside of the building until inside of the room. We made a video with him drawing in the map to how to get to the city center, etc. Easy location to park for free, not far from the city centre, probably 15 minutes. The accommodation was super clean and exactly as you can see in the photos. Large room.

The room has 2 curtains in windows that let in the clarity of outside.

Very nice jacuzzi, and friendly receptionist with good tips for where to visit in the city.

The smell of detergent in the room was a bit too strong. Also, we were woken up quite early with the cleaning staff vacuum cleaning in the common areas. Cleaning staff also knocked on our doors to check out already 10 minutes before we were due to do so which was a bit too rushed especially considering check out was at 10am.

Super clean, it smells very nice,comfortable bed,beautiful room and space in general and the host Giuseppe really nice and happy person who helps you a lot from the first minute of your arrival. We will return as soon as possible Supermarket near the room Bus stop near the room. 15minutes walk from the city center.

You can hear everything from the other rooms,especially in the morning

If there should be "10" accomodation, should be this. One of the nicest personal, very caring from the start. Location near to the center is strategic. We got room in the basement, but one of the biggest with hottub. Really well equiped. For this price really big suprise.

Absolutely not, maybe if you have a car, be patient with the parking around, but i believe you will find sth.

We had a very large apartment, in what might have been a cellar, with Jacuzzi, Theres a terriffic Supermarket 200 meters away called DOK Bought wine and nibbles, plus just along the road was a nice patiserie, Had slice of pizza etc

The bed was a bit"Sinky" ie a dip on one side, Other than that was ok
