Al 28 B&B Portoferraio on Via Giosuè Carducci 28, is an immaculate, beautiful, tastefully curated, art deco B&B apartment, operated by the friendliest and welcoming couple, Barbara and Andrea., who throughly enjoy operating their B&B! This B&B was booked way in advance, so I was communicating with Barbara early on about getting the ferry from Piombino to Portoferraio in January. We knew that not many restaurants would be open, but there were plenty of choices in our neighborhood for casual dining and worth the drive for a special one recommended by our hosts. Our room was warm, with very comfortable queen size beds for each of us, including cozy comforters. Breakfast (a true work of art!), was presented in the well equipped kitchen with a surprising abundance of home made items-jams, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice and wonderful coffee! There was home made yogurt with amazing toppings, savory items and hard boiled eggs, to top off a sustaining breakfast. Everything was presented on colorful, plates, bowls, glasses and cups. We enjoyed breakfast in the beautiful dining room, on a vintage table, surrounded by plants, art and the sound of twittering parakeets. With our ZTL permit, we could park next to our building. If no parking was available, we improvised at the port with no problem.

Everything was great! Fron the very beginning, we were delighted by the very kind hosts. The homemade breakfasts were delicious, and the beautiful terrace was perfect not only for meals but also for relaxation during the day. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We spent part of our honeymoon in the apartment and to this day, we still remember it as one of our best memories

From the outside the house looks a bit scetchy tbh. But when you step inside and you open the door towards the apartment, it is just stunning! It was so big, clean, it smelled good! We had everything we needed. Amazing room, enough space, two beautiful terraces and a great kitchen. The facility offered possibility to wash, cook yourself, or just take a late night snack from the kitchen: Barbara’s homemade cake! It was amazing and we will definitely return if we come back to Elba!

Beautiful apartment, amazing breakfast spread and very friendly hosts. Appreciated being able to use facilities after checkout and kitchenette (filled with water, tea, coffee, pastries and fruit) during our stay. The best we have stayed via booking.com, so far!

Breakfast are exceptional good. Cereal and fruit are fresh. Homemade cakes daily, freshly warm bread with homemade jams and delicious cooked breakfast. Hostess and husband are excellent hosts.

This was one of my favourite places to stay in my entire Italy trip. Great customer service from the start to the very end from Barbara and Andrea, really going over and above for their guests. The breakfast was such a joy to look forward to, they change up the cake of the day etc, will make you a cup of coffee and fresh juice. The hosts have clear attention to detail in all aspects from the room to the breakfast and the facilities available. Such an organised system they are running - excellent at what they do. I loved my time her and thank you for making this experience so warming!

Best accomodation we ever had! It was a bit out of our normal price range but 100% worth it! Barbara is the most amazing host! Comfortable beds, "real" duvets (not too hot but more than the common tiny bedsheets many accomodations have), enough space for our lugguage, air conditioner, big and nice shower Amazing breakfast: all you can/ want to eat buffet, you can use the kitchen the whole day, own shelf in the fridge, fresh cake every morning and afternoon, water to use all day. Rooftop to have breakfast (or your own lunch/dinner) on, you can also dry your clothes/bikinis outside in the sun if needed. Max. 10min from each ferries, beach, central bus station and town. You won't regret staying here. We were sceptical reading all the good reviews, but all of them are true!

This was a great place to stay for exploring Elba, especially when visiting Elba for the first time. Close to just about evcerything: the boat, buses, the historic center, restaurants and bars, but still relatively quiet. We really appreciated the breakfast, with a wide selection (including home baked cakes ;-)!). The room was nicely decorated, and Barbara was such a welcoming hostess!

As so often in Italy, the bed was too hard for our taste.

This was an incredible find on Elba. A beautiful B&B in the centre of the city. The room was clean, modern and comfortable, whilst the breakfast was outstanding. My favourite in Italy so far! Barbara and her family were so welcoming and friendly, we didn’t want to leave!

Everything, the rooms are very modern and have everything you need. Barbara is the best host you could ask for always able to help with any requests or needs. The breakfast is a great touch that puts this above other places we’ve stayed previously. I would highly recommend this place for any stay on Elba.
