We had an enjoyable 3-day stay at Hotel Continental, which served as a great base for exploring this part of Italy. The hotel is easily accessible from RC airport via the airport link buses number 27 or 28. It is within walking distance to the city centre, seafront, ferry port, and regional trains (Reggio Calabria Lido train station on the seafront). The double room on the 4th floor was compact but clean and comfortable, with stunning sea views of Sicily. The room also featured a spacious bathroom with an excellent shower and great air conditioning, as well as a well-stocked mini-fridge. The staff were welcoming and helpful, providing valuable suggestions for visiting Sicily from the port in Messina (an easy train journey to Taormina). The hotel restaurant was open for breakfast and evening meals from 7 to 10. Coffee was available from the bar throughout the day for 1 euro. We enjoyed day trips to Taormina from Messina by ferry/train and a second-day trip to Scilla on the regional train. The bronzes at the Archeological Museum in RC were worth visiting. We were very pleased with the hotel and service received. We would choose to stay at Hotel Continental again if we return to Reggio Calabria. Thank you

Great location with a short walk to town or a stroll along the water. Ferry close by too. The restaurant was amazing for dinner and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of food. Staff helpful and kind. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels when we needed them. The tv wasn’t a smart tv so had to watch Netflix on my iPad at night. Room and bathroom was spacious. Great view of Sicily. Room #503. Highly recommend.

Mattress much firmer than what we are used to.

The property was immaculately clean, well positioned and staff were so caring, efficient and most helpful. They offered suggestions for day outings and printed off timetables. The breakfast staff were so considerate and personable. Great cakes were baked each morning!! They remembered our individual requests from the previous days! The room was fabulous (slightly small) but functional. The bathroom was superb with an amazing shower. It had different settings for spray, fountains and various water jets. An exceptional sea outlook from all of our windows including the bathroom! Everything was wonderful!!!!

It was just a one-night stop on our trip, and honestly, it turned out to be a great choice. The location is perfect—just outside the center, so it’s nice and quiet, but still an easy walk with some lovely views along the way. The room had everything we needed and was really comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were super friendly, polite, and made us feel very welcome. There is also free parking out of the hotel which was a nice bonus on top of everything else.

The hotel is very modern and clean, the staff are exceptionally helpful. Our Italian is awful and they all did their best to help us in English. The hotel is also right next to the port which was brilliant for our day trip over to Sicily. Once we got home we realised we were wrongfully charged for a travel cot, I messaged the hotel and had the refund for the extra charge back in my account within 2 days. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The shower doors didn’t shut properly, and for some reason the cleaners left the shower settings on the jets that shoot water right out the doors at you when turned on. Although very funny it did mean the bathroom floor got very wet.

It’s extremely close to the ferry for Sicily, which is actually quite a walk from the train station. The shower was very fancy. The breakfast buffet was a very good value at €8. I slept very well. A very nice room overall.

I was told I’d been upgraded to a double, which meant a larger bed. It made the room quite small, though. Two people in that room would be constantly bumping into each other. The TV automatically came on each time I entered the room. Not a big deal, though.

I stayed here once before and really enjoyed it. It has some flair and modern touches. Very good breakfast, though I wish they hadn’t played the industrial disco or whatever it was. Even at low volume, it wasn’t exactly breakfast music. The bed was comfortable. Shower was fine for a quick wash, but you won’t get a long soak before the temperature goes tepid. Maybe there was just a high demand when I was using it. Good price and great location for the Sicily ferry.

I sleep in the suite on the last floor of the building. The room was plenty of space, with 2 beds, a big sofa, coffee machine, big and modern bathroom and a marvellous big balcony with terrific view in the nearby Sicily. With glasses covering 3 sides of the room, it’s plenty of light.The comfort is top. The hotel is conveniently located just in front of the hydrofoil station to Sicily, the fastest way to go there, and the train station “Reggio Calabria Lido” is only 5 minutes walking. Prices are very affordable for the quality of the room.

We would happily stay here again! The staff were helpful and charming. We got an upgrade to the penthouse the first night, which really WOWed us! Great views. Very clean. Robes, slippers and a gorgeous bathroom. Loved having the patio to enjoy the breezes!

All positive from here! Wish we had the penthouse the whole time, bit next time we'll know to reserve early! Thanks for making pur holiday lovely!

The property was a stones throw away from the Port. It was easy to find which was great after we had to get out of Sicily due to wildfires. The property is funky, clean and a 10 minute walk from the Archeological Museum (Raices Bronzes are a must see) and the main shopping street. Breakfast had muesli, coffee, fruit and yogurt which was perfect for us. plenty of other food like pastries, eggs and bacon if you wanted that. The Hotel rooms were beautiful. Comfortable beds (a double and two singles - ideal for a family), air conditioning which was a relief from the summer temperatures and a fantastic bathroom. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

The street area outside the property needs a little TLC but that is a council issue and not the hotels.
