Staff were friendly and welcoming. Induction on arrival with the staff was helpful. The kitchen was great. The outdoor area also great. Planned activities such as family dinner were fabulous. Wifi was good. Provided water (with contribution) to avoid plastic consumption. Very clean! Thoughtful consideration of hostel life - eg could sit on the bottom bunk without hitting your head, curtains around bed, charging points for every bed, side table, hanging spaces, outdoor areas to hang cothing. Umbrellas to hire. Donated goods space.

The location of the air-conditioning unit in some of the dorm rooms impacted on the circulation and also the people in the dorm room didn't really have shared agreements on the temperate it could be on eg in my dorm I would wake up sweating and the aircon was set to 27....im not sure what the hostel could do about this....the showers were lovely however there was never any hot water... The hostel was very clean, but it sometimes felt uncomfortable in the surrounds as there was always someone cleaning somewhere - perhaps a cleaning time could be arranged? But it just felt slightly uncomfortable to be moving around / relaxing. Despite all of this, I'd return in a heartbeat and recommend to everyone!

It was very cozy hostel, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere/decoration was also very nice exactly like on the photos. There were daily activities you could sign in or choose from. We had our own room with private bathroom so it was not even like a regular hostel but sure as for pricing it was more expensive. This was probably the only place out of the 5 we stayed in Sicily that I would book again. Also I want to point out that the room had a very nice smell, and a window on the ceiling.

There was no warm/hot water even though I showered multiple times during the days and tried if there will be any but no. The beach was a bit far walking on the hot days but it was not that bad :) Also if you come consider that tap water is not drinkable.

Timbuktu hostel should come with a warning "this could seriously mess with your travel plans". I extended my stay 3 times and was still looking for an excuse to stay when I was leaving. What can I say? It ticks all the boxes regarding showers, dorms, really comfy beds, clean sheets, clean everything. Curtains around the bunks were excellent - other hostels, please take note! Strongly eco conscious too. Wonderful kitchen, bar/dining/social/garden/chill areas, Free tea (they've got a teapot- woopdidoo!!!) coffee & mountain spring water (donation welcome). It's primarily a climbing area and very well equipped to facilitate that - I'd never climbed in my life (more of a water & snorkeling fan - but both were done, and spectacular experiences they were, too. (special shout out to Pedro & Julia, eternal gratitude, stay fabulous!) Timbuktu has something else though, that's not so easy to describe - friends are made, age gaps are irrelevant, magic, dancing, laughter & joy just seem to happen. It's quite extraordinary. Kudos to the fabulous staff, and to Marco, whose baby it is. I adored my stay, no exaggeration. PS I'm not being bribed to write this with a fee limoncello, though that can happen if you're still on the premises when you review.

Leaving was very, very difficult.

Great place to work remotely and meet interesting and fun people. *Lots* of things to do in the area and the staff are more than happy to help you out with suggestions.

I really want to rate this hostel higher but unfortunately the hostel really needs to crack down and have no tolerance for the sexism and womanising shown by some of the guests and friends of the longer-term residents (and no, being south Italian isn't an excuse for this). Bawdy sex and rape jokes don't have a place in a hostel, especially when they're told at an evening event hosted by the hostel.

I (53 years old woman) arrived here together with my daughter (27 years old). I was quite anxious to stay in the hostel cause I have never stayed in this type of accommodation and my daughter stayed only for one night to help me settle here. I was pleasantly surprised how good my stay was here. From the warm welcome to the very clean room and shared areas. The hostel was very well equipped : the kitchen had everything you could need and more . There were very good lounging spots inside and outside, also a concert on one of the evenings. Everyone was so helpful as I'm not fluent in English and helped me to organise a boat trip. I just want to say that it was one of the best decisions to stay here.

Everything was wonderful.

Since i arrived, i have felt the great vibe of the place, staff hyper cheerful and supportive, always attentive to your welcoming and willing to make sure that your stay is memorable (they even send you an email with all you should know about the town and tips to have a pleasant time there). From the owner to the full staff, this place makes you feel like at the Sicilian Paradise, the building is spotless, super fuctional, and really beautiful, there are different common areas; for the people that want to hang out, for those that want some quiet time and those that are willing to work out (check out the climbing wall!!) And if that is not enough, Marco brews his own Liquors that you can taste at their bar! (I almost forgot to mention that Marco/owner brings fresh drinkable water from the mountains for the joy of the guests. If that is not special, i don't know what could be then). I just want to finish saying that Timbuktu will stay in my heart, and i will always come back. Grazie mille ragazzi! Ci vediamo.

That i had to leave :-(

PLEASE do not think twice and book your stay at this amazing hostel <33 I can write a lot about how central, clean and cool the place was, however the main thing I'd like to highlight are the incredible people you will get to meet!! From the receptionists to the cleaning lady, all of the staff were super sweet!! Moreover, this hostel attracts the best travellers; I can't wait to go back!!

This place is just magic…. Everything is made and thought with a lot of love. The people, who work here are just amaziiiiing. They bring so much joy, humanity, fun, profesionalism, know how, life experience, different languages, different skills & so much understanding towards every human being. I fell in love with this place. And I got so much inspiration from the people and the space. Yes, San Vito lo Capo has a great nature and great beaches, but I don‘t think I would have ever loved my experience here so much if it wasn‘t for the Hostel and the people + opportunities I met/found here. Here three examples/experiences I had here: 1. The cleaning lady, does not just clean in the hostel, she brings so much joy in this place. If you are lucky & have your breakfast on an early, quiet morning, you may get to see her dancing while cleaning. I enjoyed those moments so much. Such a great human being. And she takes very very good care about the hostels hygiene. It is such a clean hostel. I looved it. 2. They also have a Team, who is active and makes sure, to take you with them on different tours with the boat or hiking, climbing or also offer some great Yoga, Qi Gong, Vinyasa Workshops etc... And the price is so fair, sometimes even free workshops, like for example the rooftop Vinyasa Session, I guess it has been one of the best workshops I have had in my life. Such a young but experienced trainer, amazing…. 3. As you see I could actually write a book about this team and place, but I will close this review by saying: If you are open to new experiences, different point of views, great conversations , sharing your precious time & space with other human beings + have or want to have a good sense of belonging, than this is the place you have to visit. But also, if you feel that you still have some prejudices or open wounds & want to change something in your life or perspective, than I encourage you to take a leap of faith & book your stay here.

I didn‘t like that I haven‘t planned enough time for my staying here. I would have definitely stayed longer. There is nothing one cannot like here, scusi 😎

By far the best hostel I've stayed in and one of the most unique - such a friendly staff and a great guest community. It felt like staying at a friend's beach house rather than a hostel! They had everything available, towels, laundry, umbrellas, offered in-house activities and helped organize excursions. I will definitely be back next time I'm in San Vito - thanks Timbuktu!

I will remember my stay in this hostel very fondly. First of all, you can immediately feel the very positive energy of the place, the staff is helpful, always smiling and welcoming. The entire facility is very well equipped, there will be plenty of amenities even for a longer stay. You can feel a nice homely atmosphere and security. Facility is very well-kept and clean. You can meet a lot of new people there and have a great base for exploring the beautiful surroundings. I will recommend Hostel Timbuktu to my friends and I hope to go back there someday! Thank you for an unforgettable stay
