Great decor, a lot of space, magnificent villa from 1711.

The room we had (junior suite) was a bit run down and the equipment (toilet, sinks, commodities) not on a 5-star level. Breakfast is pretty basic, again not on a 5* level. Last but not least, out of the 9 nights we spent, for 8 nights there were events (marriages, birthdays...), sometimes more than one in an evening, with the noise, music and fireworks going until 11pm and later. After a long day on the Amalfi coast, you expect a bit of calm and tranquility. You'll not find it in this hotel.

The Grand Hotel Sonrisa is the most luxurious, flamboyant and entertaining hotels that we have ever stayed in. We kept thinking that we were in Las Vegas or Disneyland. Our suite was large and comfortable, and the outlook was spectacular. The breakfast was outstanding, and the service was friendly and efficient. The parking is secure and provides easy access for luggage. The Grand Hotel Sonrisa is a magical wonderland, and we would recommend this to anyone.

No kettle or coffee-making in our room. Otherwise, perfect!

The hotel facilities in itself is something extra. The garden, fountains, pool area and the common areas in the hotel building were something different from an ordinary hotel, in a very positive way. our first two nights seem had collided with wedding, big birthday party or other kind of celebrations. We enjoyed a beautifully lit up outside area, happy music, dressed up guests that lived up the environment . The breakfast is really fantastic, both in terms av variety and quality. Highly recommended to take your time for a long breakfast. Only wish that we could take our breakfast outside in their beautiful garden than sitting inside. All in all, we had a happy and pleasant time.

Our room was clean and nice, but it felt being a little outdated. Having said that, everything in the room was comfortable.

Lovely place with artistic grand rooms and decor with history of many celebrities having stayed there. Excellent breakfast spread, apart from the fresh pastries and fruits and stuff, we loved the addition of tomatoes, greens and fresh burrata cheese. Beautiful outdoor area with a pool and grand bougainvillea arches and garden. Great wedding or event venue. Staff were extremely helpful and made our stay comfortable.

Our room had only a bath tub, no standing shower area or bathroom.

Rich decorated building. Very nice territory. We slept well, enjoyed our breakfast and spent some very peaceful hours here. There was some event in the evening in the banquet hall, but it doesn't interfere. Seems that it's a place for events so may be it's not so comfortable in other days We loved rose bushes (red and white) and saw two cats black and white. I think there can be a kind of story :)

There was a DJ outdoors. It was rather loud (for walking in the garden), but lasted very little because of the rain. Well, for me loud music open air is definitely a flaw for a hotel.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The accommodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect – close to everything but still quiet enough for relaxation. The staff were incredibly welcoming, always available and eager to help with a smile. Excellent value for money. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Truly spectacular – a palatial estate straight out of another era. Its baroque architecture, gold-accented halls, lush gardens filled with statues and fountains create an atmosphere of grandeur and theatrical elegance.

In today's world where we all need to charge multiple devices, the hotel would greatly benefit from having more free power outlets in the rooms.

Loved the over the top decoration the murrano lights. It was truely special. The cocktails at the bar were great and where else would it fit in more. The beds super comfy. Dinner in restaurant was fantastic and the waitress went out of her way to find a alternative dessert. Coffee at breakfast was excellent.

I understand events must go on but i am sure a quick swim in pool would not of effected the event if taken before. So never got to try pool.

The decor of this hotel is amazing we had the best suit that several stars have stayed in like Diego maradona etc the staff called our suit the maradona suit the hotel surroundings are exceptional fountains/ waterfalls/ statues/ palm trees etc they have a lot of functions weddings birthdays anniversaries graduation etc the whole time you are here it just makes you feel good also Emma on reception is excellent

There is nothing we felt we could dislike it’s just great

The accommodation is far from a 5* accommodation, it could have been a couple of decades ago. BUT the staff is super nice, the accommodation is very clean, the style, the architecture is uniquely special, the view was amazing from our balcony! We enjoyed our stay very much!

The breakfast is very basic, not varied. Sometimes only hot water flowed from the taps, sometimes only cold water, this is a very unique experience :-) The internet isn't perfect, but it's not annoyingly bad either.
