It was just magical...we booked this hotel at a random, looking for a place to stay close by to Verona Opera festival, and knew nothing about this little hotel and town itself. As we were approaching the town and saw that beautiful medieval castle , my wife jokingly asked if we will be staying at a castle, few km away as we were arriving at Locanda Lo Scudo and parked next to the castle walls it really did felt this way!!! From the window of the room we could see the sight of the castle and the walls surrounding its historical centre. The staff was amazing, greeted us with a local Soave Classico glass of wine, which is very good. The rooms antique atmosphere makes you feel like you are in the old times. Everything was great about this place, we had nice breakfast in a local bakery, went to the castle, bought some local Soave wine and tried to find out everything we could about this magical place. I asked my wife going back home, after visiting Verona Opera festival, Venice, Sirmione, and other nice places, what was her biggest impression and she said,- Soave. We fell in love with the town and experience we had in this hotel and will be coming back definitely on our next trip to Italy. Thank you for a life time memories Locanda Lo Scudo!

It was so good that I'm speechless. The hotel is beautiful, located in a charming town right next to the castle, at the entrance to the old town. The room is beautifully decorated, with attention to the smallest details. Very comfortable beds, quiet air conditioning, free drinks, delicious coffee in the room and even a croissant. Incredible atmosphere. There are plenty of excellent restaurants, wine bars, bars and cafes around. The hotel staff was very nice, we felt like crying when we left this place. I liked the cleanliness, the hospitality of the staff, the perfect location. A good fish restaurant is located on the ground floor and several ‘cantinas’ are in the town and the surrounding area. If you are a Soave or Amarone wine enthusiast, this is the right place to stay. The rooms are located on the first and second floors, you have to climb stairs to get there. I parked my car right in front of the hotel across the street without any problems.

Everything was perfection. Beautiful furnished building, room and garden. You coudn’t ask for more. I can’t describe in words how amazing everything was. Trust me and book this accomodation. We found a parking spot in the free public parking across the street from the accomodation. The host welcomed us with a glass of Soave wine that we served on the terrace overlooking the castle. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful: sweet, savory and also fresh fruits.

Everything was perfect. Will definitely return!

Beautiful small boutique hotel just outside the walls of Soave. Staff were very helpful. A convenient public parking is situated across the road from the hotel.

It would have been ideal if check-out was a little later than 10 am. They are very committed to this time.

Everything was just perfect. The location is simply amazing: you can easily walk everything in Soave and the view from the rooms is magnificent. The room was also great. Nicely updated and had everything you needed. Big bonus: airconditioning and cool drinks!

It was a lovely room above a very good restaurant just outside the walls of a most picturesque little walled medieval town. The location could not be better and the staff was fantastic - especially the beautiful Georgia !Dinner was really good as was breakfast. Definitely a find!

They had an electricity blackout in the region which the staff coped with as well as they could. It made for a hot night but at least we were able to open our windows to get some air.

Popular fish restaurant with four private rooms. Good bed and nice bathroom. Use the private side door after check in Located next to the castle gate. Easy to find from the A22 almost in the middle of Venice and the Garda Lake

Nothing could have been better. We love small places better than bigger hotels.

Wow! Beautifully decorated, with only 4 rooms (I think), in the middle of Soave. Public parking just in front, comfortable bed and very cozy, clean and tidy room. Bar/café for a traditional Italian breakfast is a short walk away and so are several restaurants for dinner.

Very nice location, the room was a good size and a nice view of the wall surrounding the area and close to the castle
