Piccolo Hotel San Valentino is set on top of a hill in the middle of the fairytale Val d'Orcia. Among cypress trees, olive groves and crete senesi. The Abbey of San Oliveto Maggiore is about a kilometre away. The hotel has a restaurant, but it closes in the evening, so it's completely quiet at night - the nearest village is several kilometres away. For breakfast we got everything we wanted: there was sheep's cheese, all sorts of spreads, yoghurts, prosciutto if you wanted it and several types of pastries. The room was not large but comfortable, the wi-fi worked, there are mosquito nets on the windows - although there are not many around the hotel, and the room is air-conditioned. We were able to visit a classical music festival in nearby Asciano. And of course all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to help.

I'm sorry, but I can't think of anything that bothered me.

A delightful rural hotel. The room was well appointed and quiet in an attractive garden setting. Plenty of parking. Close to the monastery. It also has a good restaurant. Generous breakfast.

I had to keep on reconnecting to the wifi.

Great quiet location, with amazing views over the Tuscan hills. Lovely breakfast every morning, and we had dinner in the restaurant as well, which was also great! Perfect place for a few days in Tuscany

The Hotel was very clean and in a quiet location.The breakfast was small but carefully prepared. The owner was very polite and helpful

It was a little difficult to find the facility. There is no place nearby. Restaurants were closed on Wednesday. I had to look for food late at night.

The food. Breakfast was sumptious and if you opt for dinner, you will not be disappointed. Wifi worked very well and the room was well heated.

The single bed was kinda short.

Twelve years ago we stayed at Piccolo and loved it. It was even better this time. The rural location is quiet with beautiful, classic Tuscan views. The restaurant is superb. The staff is very accommodating. Some extended family also run the restaurant at the nearby monastery and it is worth a visit as well. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful location to relax, stay here!

I loved everything!

Location was perfect after hectic Florence &, Venice, & Rome. Quiet, peaceful, & only a stone's throw from the Abbey. The on-site restaurant had wonderful food, & many choices for breakfast. And we loved the cats!

It's a beautiful place in a lovely location. The staff is very friendly and helpful

The furniture is a bit old but fancy and the mattresses are a bit narrow

It is a very nice secluded property that gives you a sense of living in Tuscany. We enjoyed our stay, breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff.
