Location was great for what we wanted (close to the beach, not too far from LAX), lots of cafes and restaurants around, Starbucks, etc... The hotel also had beach towels for guests to use which was great. The hotel was also super quiet at night and had limited parking available for use if you're renting a car.

The hotel has a microwave available for use, but it would be nice to have access to microwavable plate and maybe cutlery as well. We had to buy plastic cups at a store because the room didn't have anything in that regard.

This is the best and perhaps only hotel on the beach at Marina del Rey. The tables up top were fabulous for watching the sunset. The patio was wonderful for enjoying the breeze and people watching. Enjoyed the front desk persons. Very accommodating. The room was clean.

Our room was across from the front desk, so of course, there was some noise. There is no coffee or hot cups for coffee. The outdoor bathroom we used prior to checking in needed cleaning. We did not like our bags in the cleaning closet. They need a room for guest luggage and a clean bathroom for guests awaiting check in and departure. The rooms are very small, but very clean!

Location was excellent, view from rooftop was great, staff extremely helpful.

We had 2 rooms on the ground floor- 1 was amazing, the other didn’t have any towels, the herd of elephants above kept us awake all night and the guy yelling on the phone outside our room for an hour was too much to handle. If you stay here, ask for a room on one of the upper floors.

Lovely rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of the beach and coast, and nice lower level patio. Right on the beach, but not in the bustle of the Venice Beach tourist area. Some restaurants right around the corner, and close to the canals. On a quiet street. Friendly staff.

No coffee, and shower pressure was low. As far as value, I think for the beach area, it was one of the more affordable options, but still seemed a bit pricey- I guess that’s LA! In the future I’d probably stay in Santa Monica instead for more shops, restaurants, and better vibe. I thought Venice Beach would be bohemian, with vintage shops, etc., but it was more touristy stuff - there wasn’t much vintage, and what was there was incredibly overpriced. A place to see, but maybe not to stay unless it’s nice and hot and you can just lay on the beach- which was just out front of the hotel!

I stayed here twice during my layovers in LA in between some work in the USA. Surprisingly close to LAX so it's a handy location. Immaculately clean and friendly staff - has a family run business feel. You're paying for location though - you are right on Venice beach (pier end) and a minute's walk from street with bars, restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets. Rooms have all the basics and are clean. When I had an upstairs room that seemed bigger and in the foter there was a microwave, kettle, etc. Outside theres a courtyard with recliners, tables and chairs, good for hanging out watching the beach. It's an older type of building, but well kept.

Wifi could be a bit sketchy.

The view, especially if you have an ocean view room is exceptional, but it can also be enjoyed from the deck found on top of the hotel. The daytime receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The fact that they offer reserved parking right in front of the hotel is also a plus.

The gate to the beach keeps slamming and making a loud metallic sound every time somebody exits, especially annoying early in the morning or late at night.

I like how close it was to the beach and the Hawaiian staff that host us was cool

I didn't like that we had to park on the street and the price we paid for one night, I think some of these hotels should get with the city to see if the hotels could offer us customers a parking voucher to park on the street so that way if the street sweepers come on the day that cars are not supposed to be parked there, the customers with the parking voucher will be good for the simple fact we paid for a hotel we can't park at because the hotels were booked ...

The location is great, and the staff is friendly and attentive. You basically walk out the front door to the beach, and the place also has a patio to lookout at the beach or a rooftop patio to people watch from and enjoy the sunset.

The noise level room-wise is the main inconvenience: thin/hollow doors, small hallways, and creaky loud mattress/beds. The mattresses make a loud noise just sitting on them--like a rubber or plastic heavy screeching creaking noise. We were moved from our original room because the safe wasn't working, and the beds in both rooms made these noises. Is there a big plastic sleeve/sheet to protect the mattresses? Is it a big plastic bed frame supporting the mattress? I have no idea, but the beds are loud--hanky panky or no hanky panky. They are just loud. Also, the shower soap in the first room was clouded over and spoiled. It smelled like rotten eggs. (The room change and soap problem was handled nicely by the staff. They are very attentive.)

The location is just perfect for everyone wanting to have a beach instead of city time. Staff is very friendly. It felt safe to stay there as a female solo traveller. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Despite being small, it had everything what needed for a short stay.

The window facing other building just right in front so I had to have curtains continuously on for a bit of privacy. There is a nice rooftop but without any bar or music which is sad as the location and the view is perfect. Also, the price is really high for such a small room.

Conveniently located right on the beach and within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shops.

Limited parking space- like less than 10 spaces. Reservations are first come first serve so you have to hope someone who reserved a spot is checking out for you to get an opening. Even so, you are not guaranteed a space (no designated number). If you didn’t pay for a reservation, you must park off the street which is blocks away. Coming back late at night can feel creepy walking through dark alleys and small streets.
