- We chose this as we were more interested in doing excursions rather than staying all day in all-inclusive resort - Location is excellent, at the end of the hip strip and near Doctor’s Cave beach - Free sunset beach, just a 1-minute walk - Basic accommodation yet excellent value for the area - Clean hotel with daily housekeeping - Design is a bit dated & worn, but generally functional - Each room came with washcloths - We were able to check in even if we arrived 2 hours before standard check in time. - Pool was open 24/7 - Staff were mostly kind and attentive - Restaurant and bars on site, though we didn't try any of them - Garden has lovely flowers and wild birds - TV had Netflix - A/C available in each room

- Shower temperature was inconsistent - Design is dated & worn - Ladies of the night were frequently seen right outside the resort nightly - There tends to be some road noise

Staff is amazing..From the front desk to the maintenance workers..Dining staff..Our housekeeper Juliette was amazing….Tony.. Our Chef Patrick.. Food was on point.. That escovitched fish was the bomb..The bartender.. he was in the dining room as a waiter and he assisted in taking out our bags..Thats why I will always return.. Everyone jumps in to help no matter the situation….As for the location … For those who don’t know..hip strip is right there.. 27/27 lounge walking distance.. Sunset beach around the corner from the hotel and famous Doctors Cave beach..walking distance so is Margaretsville… you guys keep doing what you’re doing

Low water pressure and could not access Netflix

Toby's was highly recommended to me by a long-time guest. My friends and I had an amazing stay and plan to rerurn. The staff make you feel like you are coming to stay with friends. Mike at the bar and Carleen at the front desk are the best. It is very affordable and relaxing, close to shops, the beach, and nightlife. You can actually walk around and experience the city and people. They are in the middle of upgrading the rooms, so be sure to ask for a remodeled room by the main pool! The pools stay open 24/7 unless inclement weather, they are cleaning or spraying the grounds with mosquito repellant.

Twin bed was a little too firm after being sunburned.

Front desk staff were amazing, kind n helpful. Shuttle bus driver, Paul was very funny, friendly n polite. Restaurant n menu amazing. Food delicious n prices reasonable. Five minute walk to a lovely local beach. Airport close by but very, very, little plane engine disturbance. Slept well. There are 2 pools but i didn't swim. But saw other guests enjoying themselves. Pool bar. Lovely gardens n fruit trees. Short walking distance to local gift shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, Doctor's cave Beach (entrance fee), the famous Margaritaville restaurant n water sports complex. Casino. Usain Bolt restaurant, ice cream shops. Safe area. Patrolled by security n safety officers. Clean n orderly Hip Strip.

In room tea n coffee station, they could provide 2 complimentary bottles of water to start your stay.

Clean and comfortable stay, staff very friendly and helpful. Food in the resturant was very good and staff offered a good professional service. Hotel is convientely locted for the Hip Strip with all teh shops, resturants and bars and very close to the beach.

During our stay, we were affected by a hurricane, and it appears the hotel's generator failed, impacting power to essential areas like the kitchen. The hotel managment could have been better prepared with a hurricane plan and informed guests of arrangements. However, the staff did their best to manage without power and were able to provide a limited food. Hotel allowed us to extend our stay at a discounted rate until we could secure a flight out which we appreciated.

We stayed at Toby’s Resort during our honeymoon in Jamaica, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. Check-in was smooth, although payment is made directly at the property and not through the app, so keep that in mind. The staff kindly helped us with our many bags, which was appreciated after a long day of travel. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed having a balcony with a nice view, and the TV worked great for relaxing in the evenings. One of the highlights of our stay was the on-site restaurant and the poolside bar. The food was delicious, and the drinks were fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The whole place has a warm and welcoming ambiance that made us feel right at home. We also appreciated the security presence at the front of the property. It made us feel even safer and added an extra layer of peace of mind during our stay.

The only downside isn’t related to the resort itself, but rather the area just outside the property. If you head to Dead End Beach beach road, be cautious. There are people selling alcohol and drugs, and some may try to befriend you, then accompany you back to the hotel and demand an excessive amount of money, which we didn't give them. Luckily, we were okay, but we recommend staying alert in the surrounding area. Once inside Toby’s, we always felt very safe and taken care of. We would definitely recommend it for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in Montego Bay.

This little, friendly resort is everything you can wish for if you want good value for money and excellent service.It is very well situated on the corner of the hip-strip, walking distance to all shops and restaurants in Montego bay.You are only a 5 minutes walk away from Doctor's cave beach and some other local beaches.The rooms are very spacious with super comfortable beds and a big terrace.You have plenty of cupboard-space, a nice big t.v. with lots of U.S. and local channels.The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and shower products..The hotel serves excellent breakfast dishes, U.S.-and local style.There are 2 nice , clean pools with plenty of loungers,, one is quite big and is a saltwater pool, you can use them late at night and there is always nice music at the little pool bar.The gardens are well kept.The staff is amazing: super friendly, helpful and professional, from the front-desk staff, the restaurant servers /barman and the maintenance staff: everybody greets you with a big smile and is always there to assist you.They made us feel very welcome and cared for.The resort also had a very friendly driver who can take you on excursions, the airport....for a reasonable price. I can only recommend this small resort if you want to stay close to the action in Montego bay, local-style and for a very reasonable price.

This is not a big, luxury resort you have to keep that in mind.It is a bit older, although well-kept and clean but it shows a bit of wear-and-tear.For us this gave it lots of character and a very local-feeling but don't expect glitz and glam. The shower could use a bit more water pressure but that is just a minor detail.

Hotel is within walking distance to everything, very friendly staff, awesome security. I wish I had a refrigerator in my room but later find out refrigerator only comes with the updated rooms. Overall, I will recommend Toby's Resort to everyone, and I will be returning there soon. The onsite restaurant is great, I miss eating there for breakfast, ackee saltfish, green bananas, yellow yam, dumplings, fresh fruits. Oh my! I am feeling hungry for some good island food.

not having a refrigerator in the room

I will characterize Toby's as efficient, convenient, no frills accommodation in Montego Bay. It just gets the job done, get the queen bed, its not big but its decent. The was an issue with ants, that come out at night, and my shower i had to play around with it a little bit. They have a restaurant on site that is not expensive at all, and serves but international and local cuisine. Conveniently located near Dead End, Doctors Cave and the airport. I will definitely stay here again if in teh general area.

Sometimes noise in the hallway but that is not the fault of the resort.

The room was a very nice king bed sized room which the bathroom had very hot water a plus and it had a fridge and safe with ironing board and iron with great internet and a firestick. I loved all that except the way the floors was made. The floors was cracked and out dated which to me needs to be updated along with the bathroom. I did have a massage and noticed that the rooms were updated and newly bathrooms so next time I would ask for the newly rooms. It had 2 pools with a bar area at the bigger pool that stayed open at a decent time and opened early in the morning. The grounds were very pretty and the breakfast which I had American breakfast was very good and very low priced. I did not like the oxtails at all but I did like the vegetables so I made it work. The massage was very much needed in which she really worked out my muscles and only 90US which can get very pricy at times. the hotel is located at the tail end or beginning of the hip strip which is right near the free local beach as well as The popular Doctor's Cave. Everything was walking distance you needed even the airport was 24 minutes walk. The price was right and I actually will be going back soon.

The outdated floors and bathroom which took away from the rooms and made it feel crusty to walk on.
