Location was amazing - ski lifts right outside the door. Restaurant was onsite which was nice for lunch/dinner. Close to other restaurants and convenience store.

Staff were around but not overly friendly or helpful - like they were doing time before the close of the season. They hung around a lot at the exit door smoking which was pretty unpleasant to walk out to. Breakfast got boring after 7 mornings - 1 hard cold fried egg and 2 cold sausages every morning with a couple of pieces of cut fruit and cereal was available. We were lucky enough to score western beds (not tatami mats) but they weren't the most comfortable after 7 nights and one bed was so wobbly we had to jam it against the wall so it didn't squeak all night.

The owner Faye is lovely and super helpful. The location is incredible and is only 20m from the chairlift, so it really is ski in and ski out. The breakfast was perfect and just what we needed to start the day.

In the description it says there is rental gear available for hire, but when I arrived the staff told me there was no gear for rent. However, when you go downstairs into the dry room there is an abundance of jackets, pants, helmets and gloves. Luckily, I had messaged Faye, the owner before my staff and asked for prices (jackets, pants, helmets and gloves are free), so once I showed this to the staff they did allow me to use them. The workers aren't very friendly and don't seem to want to help you. So, if you plan on using the gear at the hotel make sure to message Faye before your staff and show the staff the messages.

Here we are again, our stay at La Vista Hotel for the start of 2023 2024 season and celebrate a Happy New Year!! We were SO satisfied with our stay last season that when we decided we wanted to spend New Year at Tsugaike Kogen, we immediately thought of staying at La Vista Hotel again.. I went to check in while my husband went to park the car, and Fei, the lovely young lady at the reception greeted me with such a wonderful friendly smile, remembered me from the past season and was SO kind to help us carry our luggage to our room. Again the room was nice and warm, very clean, the mattresses and pillows VERY comfortable and clean, and I took a heavenly shower. The hot water is really nice and hot and the shower has great water pressure. Don't let the small bathroom intimidate you, you didn't come to stay in the bathroom, you came to enjoy beautiful Winter nature, have some great skiing and enjoy the awesome, warm, kind hospitality of all the staff at Hotel La Vista. The bathroom works, the shower is nice, the hot water is awesome, toilet works too, that's all you need. Want to wash in more space, go upstairs to the 5th floor, they have bathtubs there separated for females and males and these work great too. My husband did that and was happy. I was happy with the shower inside the room. Breakfast starts at 7:15 am, coffee, orange juice, milk, buns, slices of bread that you can toast in the several bread toasters available, 3 different kinds of jam, butter, cornflakes, just what anyone needs for breakfast and get ready to go skiing. We made the mistake of going to another restaurant for dinner one evening, and the dinner was just not good at all. However we did have dinner at the hotel the next evening and this time we remember to take pictures. The food is SO DELICIOUS!! The chef is SO kind & gave us a big smile. THANK YOU SO MUCH Hotel La Vista and staff for another WONDERFUL stay! We can't wait to go back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Nothing. The wonderful staff makes you feel at home. If you want a luxury experience of a luxury hotel, Four Seasons, Hilton are your choice, BUT if you want a warm, super friendly place right in front of the ski lifts and feeling welcomed and at home is more important to you than a luxury hotel, then Hotel La Vista is your choice of a place to stay in Tsugaike Kogen.

The Staff were super friendly! and gave plenty of help and advice. Step out of the Hotel and straight onto the chair-lift! Ski in/out. and literally 1 minute from a very good ski-hire shop. Perfect.

The room was Surprisingly small - ( expected to be Japanese small) and a squeeze for my wife and 2 children and I. the bar/Restaurant wasn't open in the day time. Breakfast was basic and repetitive.

Similar to other review the location and price of this property are it's standouts. We stayed in a traditional room which we really liked as it was large and comfortable and we had a view of the slopes. Room heating was very efficient and we were super warm The breakfast is basic but really for the price you pay you cannot complain. There are also plenty of options to supplement breakfast if you so wish. The staff aren't around much but there is a whatsapp number they are super response on if you need anything. Happy to store luggage pre and post check in.

The onsen was lukewarm and not amazing - so I wouldn't consider this a selling point. The bathroom in our room was super tiny (didn't bother us too much but something to consider).

We have stayed here in the past seasons and love the new additions/improvements that have been made in the lobby and dinning room area. The new enclosure keeps both areas much warmer. Breakfast is great as always. Fruit, salad, sausage, egg, toast, cereal, coffee & juice. Perfect before hitting the slopes that are just in front on the hotel. Such a great location. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are small and basic but very clean. We had a tatami room on the 5th floor. Bathrooms are also very small but there is also an onsen on the 5th floor. All you need for a fun few days on the slopes!

WiFi on the 5th floor did not reach our room. There was an extender in the hallway at the end of an extension cord but it just didn’t reach down the hallway enough so we didn’t have any wifi while in our room at the end of the hall. Wasn’t a big deal to us.

The location is amazing, 5 meters away from chair lift. The owner of the Chinese family are very nice person, offered a lot help when my family member get injured. The breakfast is good enough.

bath room is really small, but if you don't mind use the onsen shower facility which is plenty of space

Room was cozy, well equipped. Hotel staff were all super nice, and food was so good! My partner and I stayed there for 6 nights and had lunch at the restaurant every day because it was so good. It is also right next to the ski lifts, making it very convenient. There was even a free public onsen in the hotel itself. Can't wait to be back!

located right next to Chairlift - 30 steps - cannot be better anywhere in the world of ski resorts.

breakfast eggs were cold everyday. Piano needs to tuning hehe!

You pay for great location at an amazing price. Staff were mostly backpackers but they were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are traditional style and the ensuites are tiny, but everything worked fine. If the water is cold let the staff know as the boiler tends to turn off during the day 😅 Overall a great stay.
