Quiet location, clean house, welcoming atmosphere. A place for travelers by a traveler. It's a short walk from the station and all the important spots are within walking distance. Found this place and was curious about the host which so many reviews talk about.  Makoto san hosts guest in this house for 16 years now. His japanese respectful distant etiquette can make room for warm extensive travel talks.  The house is orderly clean and it feels like you're visiting a friend's home where you can meet other travelers. If that's what you're looking for you found the place! I'll stay again if ever back to Kanazawa. All the best for you Makoto san!

This lovely guesthouse is run by a really kind owner, Makoto, a traveler by heart. He is a wonderful host. When I arrived, he instantly gave me an introduction to his city. I also gave him recommendations about my city, Amsterdam :) The guesthouse has all the amenities needed for a good stay, the Japanese style room is nice, the communal place is also pleasant. Near Kanazawa Station and a 20 minute walk to the beautiful old neighborhood of Higashiyama. Great value, make sure to book a room at this nice guesthouse and meet wonderful Makoto.

We liked the room which was in a traditional atmosphere, with tatami mats, a futon bed, storage places in the room, a small balcony with armchairs and a place to hang laundry. It was in an excellent location and was quiet. We liked Makoto who helped us with everything we needed and beyond!!! There was a shared kitchen, fridge, shared living room which was very helpful. Laundry services too!

The shower and toilet are shared. You should also know that you are staying at the owner's house - Makoto, who lives in the same house. should be considered.

Super friendly and nice host. Gave me lots of nice recommendations too. It was so convenient to walk to the guesthouse from the train station. It’s located on a calmer street so during nighttime there’s not much noise. I stayed in both in a western style room and a traditional one. The first one less spacious but bed was a bit softer. The traditional one had plenty space for luggage and a futon to sleep on. Both were nice and would love to stay again in the future.

The guesthouse is very well-located, 10 min from the train station. The owner is very nice. The room and the facilities are clean. The room had an AC unit which we were able to use to warm up the room. It's a very good value for money.

The facilities are shared. There aren't many rooms in the guesthouse so both the toilet and the bathroom were kept clean and we never had to wait for either. At the end, this wasn't really a problem for us.

Makoto-san is such a perfect host. We got stuck due to the heavy snowfall, and couldn't give the estimated arrival time, but Makoto-san kindly wait untill we safely arrived, even when it's past the check in time. He also offered to exchange our room with one downstairs closer to the bathroom (which I greatly appreciated). The room size is also bigger than the average hotel room in Japan.

The place is really nice, with a really helpful owner with a lot of interesting stories 😁 it was very clean, you have enough showers and washbasins, no worries about it. It's close to the train station and to some places for beer or lunch. We could leave our luggage after check out . Thank you, we have a really good time in Kanazawa!!!

Be prepared that it's tradicional house do it's quite cold inside. But AC works well, you can use it without any problem.

very good location, cute and cozy interior, extremely nice owner. shower toilets etc were very clean and the owner makes you feel welcomed

only that the light in my room was too blue, it was very blinding. a warmer lamp would make it feel way more comfortable. and my room kinda smelled like potatoes but that’s only when you enter, the smell quickly fades

Location! It was really easy to find online. The owner Arigato San was a very open and friendly character, easy to talk to and extremely helpful too. Place was comfortable and with the share kitchen for quick snack and drink etc. Highly recommended for couples and families looking for homelike holiday accommodation.

Bathrooms are located on ground floor but acceptable whilst on vacation.

The hospitality of Makoto-san is something out of the ordinary. He even dropped us off at the station since it was raining. He waited for us in his car with our bags already loaded when we arrived to collect our luggage which we had stored at his place after checkout. Thank you so much Makoto-san.
