The dorm bed was very comfortable. It really was one of the most comfortable hostel beds I've ever slept on.

The room is poorly ventilated. The first night I woke up dehydrated because the aircon was on full blast and the humidifier wasn't filled with water at all! I woke up in the middle of the night with dry eyes and a dry throat and had to fill up the humidifier, which was empty and was probably not filled by staff that day. On the second night I had a mild asthma attack from the poor ventilation. So be careful if your asthma is triggered by air changes, especially dry air. The toilets were not stocked with extra toilet paper on my second night.

A great and beautiful place, like a hostel but luxurious! I stayed in the dorms of the hotel and it was really nice. The bed was wide and comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and the shower very pleasant! The staff was so kind and professional, there was a lounge space where you could stay until late, I could store my luggage after check-out, it's very close to Karatsu Station and walking distance to the beach and Karatsu Castle! For a very decent price too; would definitely stay again.

I slept in the bed farthest from the air conditioning, so it was quite warm at night. That's the only thing I can think of really!

Honestly surprised this hotel doesn't have a higher rating! This is such a gem - clean, comfortable, very nice aesthetically, staff was SUPER friendly, and GREAT location - the little plaza it's in is super cool and convenient! Breakfast, lunch and dinner options in the same complex, a movie theatre, shopping - and then surrounded by tons of other options in the neighborhood. And if you're looking for a FANTASTIC dinner - go to TAMATORI! Amazing, fun, delicious experience and chef Hitomi Otsuka is such a delight!

Dryers did not work well, but honestly, most dryers in Japan are not great. And only minor inconvenience is needing to pay for parking.

Great hotel in a fabulous location. We loved the large communal table and in-house facilities (microwave, vending machines, washing machines). The Hotel Karae complex is great - a cafe, a cinema, a wonderful gift shop, restaurants and a ceramics gallery. A really excellent property development featuring old and new.

Even though the Hotel is in a great area, the surrounding stores (shops, restaurants, boutiques) were all shut and deserted. It lacked vibrancy during both day and night, which was disappointing because Karatsu is a delightful town.

I really enjoyed the location of the hotel, it’s like a minute walk to the station, and the size of the bunk beds was really nice(a lot wider that a lot of places). Also the cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the decor in the “lobby” area was really nice. As well the female room I stayed in was honestly really enjoyable since I found the bed really comfortable and the washroom to be really nice. As well all of the workers I met were very nice and had pretty good English so if you have questions about stuff I recommend asking them, I asked for directions to Yobuko and the lady made sure to look up the bus times to get there for me. I also really enjoyed the breakfast that you can include, although technically I chose to pay to upgrade the set every morning but it’s really not that much. I quite liked the vibe of the restaurant, very chill in the morning which is nice as I need my morning coffee to survive. It’s also quite nice as in walking distance is the castle and a really pretty Shrine. The castle is a little bit longer with the sun and heat in the summer but it’s really not far at all. Also just beside the castle is where I caught a little boat over to the island to site-see but a word of advice is start with the island as the ferry runs like once a hour and I got too nervous about missing the last one so I didn’t walk around the island as much I would have liked.

The one thing that confused me a little is that the entrance is up on the 3rd level of the building so when I arrived I was a bit confused since the bottom level is stores and restaurants (although it definitely could have been my fault that maybe I didn’t read the description properly on where to go). As well I’m not sure why the female bunk room had such a high level of humidity, (there was a humidifier running as soon as you entered, but I didn’t think I was allowed to touch it plus I can’t read Japanese so I didn’t wanna accidentally mess with it) but tbh it wasn’t the worst thing so I just ignored it.

This was a cute little one floor hotel. Had all the basic requirements covered and the room was a decent size. The bed was a bit on the smaller side for a double, but it was comfortable. I always appreciate it when I can open a window in the room and get in some fresh air. Water pressure was great. Had a washer/dryer set up that was convenient to use and affordable. Cafe downstairs had good food.

Modern, clean hotel with larger than average room sizes. Great location 4 minutes walking from Karatsu train station. Directly next to small shopping area and plenty of restaurants. Very convenient place to stay in Karatsu. Hotel has drinks vending machines, a microwave in the common area and a very stylish, light-filled lobby on the 3rd floor to sit and even table space to work on a notebook. Area was still quiet at night.

Everything was great, except the beds were the hardest in our whole trip. Too hard for my linking but if you don't mind hard beds, it is a great place to stay.

The hotel is modern and clean with friendly staff. The room is quiet, cozy and the bed comfortable. And it's located on a padestrian street only a stone throw from the train station and the bus station. I liked the common area with big table and plenty of sunlight. I really enjoyed my 2 nights stay there.

The laundry+vending machine area is a bit small. It felt crammed when there are more than 2 people in it.

For Karae any probleme For Booking.com.bcs i can not contact with them This is a force majeure case due to the weather in Saga prefecture,and I informed the hotel in Arita,on the morning of July 10 that I could not come to check in because No bus ,no train from Karatsu station,the information center tell me clossed road to Arita all day However, the hotel Soufusha does not support and still charge 100% of the room rate. I have contacted booking.com for help but I still have not received any response from booking.com. Alway automatic anserw,can not can not contact with them who is big compagny.is it normal???
