This is a wonderful place to stay if you are a fan of Yuri!!! on Ice. This is my second time staying here and even after all these years the staff have meticulously maintained the collections of merchandise. The new renovations to the building since I last stayed are fantastic and the staff are very kind despite limited English. Breakfast is wonderful! Our room was even upgraded from our initial booking. I had a wonderful stay here and I hope to visit again!

We rented a car rather than taking a train from Fukuoka, and the car parking space (immediately opposite the accomodation) is a little difficult to find because the sign is very small; it took us two loops around the block to see it. The carpark is a normal residential car parking space, and can be a little tight if there are other guests already parked. The road outside is quite busy so parking can be a challenge.

The place is quiet and the rooms have a view on the inner bay, but on the other side of the hotel, the road has a all night and day traffic which doesn't help to access the hotel car park. The breakfast is really nice. The rooms have an entrance where you can leave your package and shoes, so that you can benefit of the whole soace in the bedroom. If you're fan of the "Yuri on ice café" manga, it will be the place for you with lots of goodies exposed at the entrance and in the dinning room.

The bathroom is small, and if you haven't made a reservation for the onsen, you won't be able to get in. Tou must reserve the breakfast 24 hours before, if not, you won't have it. Without a car, the hotel is far from the station.

First, this place is really great and an incredible bargain. It is located on the edge of the old castle grounds, only minutes walking to Karatsu Castle. The views of the river from the room and of the castle during breakfast are fabulous. The comfortable futons and quiet comforters were great. Our twin room had a small attached bathtub and toilet but we used the wonderful private ofuro each evening. We stayed in room 201, next to the wide staircase, above the ofuro bath. This room is the most protected from the sounds of road traffic but the din of road noise is still there some. I am a light sleeper and my wife and I slept great here! If you like Japanese style breakfasts then you will love it here. We walked through the nice pine forest down to the beach, as well as thoroughly exploring the castle. We had a great lunch at DonDonTei, down the street from Riverside. The value of where this inn is located and the quality of your stay are first class, in our book. After a month in Japan, this 2 night stay was truly one of our highlights!

Absolutely nothing!

Overlooking the river was beautiful. Close to the castle. Noisy road but it didn't bother us on the river side. Pleasant dining area where you could use the microwave and eat.

A long walk from the train station, 30 to 40 minutes with luggage. Steep stairs to room on second floor. Deep bathtub would make it difficult for some people to climb into for a shower. Bathroom was very small but it was better than we expected.

We stayed in a spacious suite with a riverside balcony. Lovely bath tub and shower and facilities for a whole family. Riverside and castle views from wide picture windows. Modern and spotless. Choice of hot drinks, spacious fridge and a free welcome drink. Right by a bustop into town and opposite a quirky cafe. Convenient parking too.

They provide free parking just across the road, and rental bicycles (for a fee)! Old school inn with tranquil vibes overlooking the river. Dated building and bathroom, and it felt like you went back in time! But it might not be for everyone... You can reserve the family bath for a private ofuro (hot big bathtub) session. Staffs are able to converse in English and communicated well with international travellers. Friendly and helpful staffs. I really love the kotatsu they provided in the room. And they also provide welcome drinks (after 10pm). Very near Karatsu Castle! Good spot for Yuri on Ice fans! There is a memorabilia section for the anime!

Bathroom is dated. A little hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for... They've renovated the entrance a little, so the picture on Booking.com doesn't really match. A little dusty. Old school futon, just like what you would expect to see in rural village grandma's house. You need to set up your own futon. A little further away from the shopping streets, in a quiet town. So you might be walking around in the dark trying to get back to the hotel.

The hotel only has a very few guest rooms and every room had got wonderful river view. It's close to the Castle which you view from the outside the hotel. The breakfast was good with plenty of small traditional Japanese dishes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though the suitcases were very heavy, they helped us to take to the second floor one by one.

The washroom inside the room is too small and it's better to take bath at the public washroom. The hotel is beside a busy road. It takes time for you to park your car at the opposite side of the hotel.

A quiet place but very easy to reach the center! The breakfast was delicious and the personal is fantastic! I can only recommend this hotel to stay! They arrange me a taxi to make a day trip to see hourra and other sites like Hadomisaki beach and Hato cape to see the sunset! Perfect! Sublime!!

Beautiful Japanese style spacious room with big windows facing the river. Despite a busy road nearby, the rooms very very quiet (I slept with my window open). Excellent coffee in the morning served in Bodum glasses- a nice touch! Very friendly staff. I liked it so much I wanted to stay there again on my way back to Fukuoka, but then I had to change my plans.

Beautiful view from the room of the river and castle. Easy walk to the town centre and station. Parking available across the road. Proper coffee bean machine in the room. Lovely welcome with a choice of drink

For us the beds were large but mattresses were thin. But I think we are too fussy!
