The hotel had a classic “retro” vibe and the view of the city was very nice, especially the sunrise in the morning! We felt right at home and appreciated the friendliness of the staff. We were able to check in slightly earlier than the standard time, and we were glad we could park our car conveniently just downstairs.

The windows were a bit dirty which detracted a bit from the view. The hotel is very dated, which also adds to its charm, but it also shows its age (like the sink in the room was a bit dirty). It was unfortunate that the tatami was synthetic, but understandable given the cost of maintaining and regularly replacing tatami mats. It would be nice if some of the amenities were also provided in the sento bath area as well, because I’d forgotten to bring a brush but didn’t want to go up to the 2nd floor to get one of the provided ones.

Pleasant stay, very clean and organised. Nice traditional breakfast and the hotel has a souvenir shop inside. Nice and clean bath. The room was very big for 1 person and very comfortable with individual bath included.

What a lovely place to stay! The breakfast was fabulous, as was the communal bath. My room had a great view of the river and was very warm with the heater. The futon was comfortable as well. The room was also great for getting work done in and the hotel was in a great location for restaurants and stuff.

The room smelled a little like stale smoke, but it wasn't that bad.

Fun traditional experience in a beautiful city!

The location was very convenient, easy access and a convenient parking space. The public bath was very nice after a long day of driving.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great - very central. There's parking, a big reception lounge with a shop, a lift (elevator), an AC in the room and an onsen! Our room had a private bathroom with bidet & the hot water smelled like onsen water, which felt good on our skin!

The room smelled of cigarettes and we couldn't ventilate the bathroom or toilet room. So it didn't smell clean. Also the pillows were uncomfortable and there weren't enough power sockets (it's an old style tatami room).
