Location! The hotel is at Machida Station of Odakyu Line (about 30 min from Shinjuku); almost a midpoint to the mountain area (Hakone - Odawara for hot spring spots!). Machida Station is also linked to JR Yokohama Line, which facilitates your trip to Yokohama area (about 20-30 min from Machida); JR Yokohama line is located right next to the hotel. The passage from Machida Station (Odakyu Line) to the hotel offers a nice walk; there are a lot of Izakayas, restaurants, cafes, shops, supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. Never get bored! The hotel is next to a big supermarket (Daiei - open till 1am!) and a laundromat (coin laundry - コインランドリーデポ原町田店) is within 5 min walk; no detergent is required and coin exchange machine is equipped. Incredibly clean. This laundromat was suggested by the hotel and excellent advice. This was my 4th(?) time to use this hotel. Never disappointed. Resourceful staffs. Clean rooms. Convenient location.

I have stayed at the Rembrandt several time before and it is one of my favourite hotels. It is very conveniently located, the breakfast is generous, rooms are well-organised and, most importantly, the staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. At the time I booked, only smoking rooms were available, but the hotel was so kind to (almost) completely refresh it. Thanks you.

I noticed that there is now a check-in machine at the front desk. As the staff at this hotel are without a shadow of doubt its main strength, it is my sincere hope that the machine will in no way replace them.

The location is about 10 min from the Odakyu train station and less than 5 min from the JR train station. The area is quieter than those right near the train station. Directly next door is Daiei which is a supermarket. The breakfast, which is an additional add-on, about 1400Yen, was very good. My room was right next to the elevators, but the thick walls prevent noise, nor did I hear any of the neighbors. I know they were there because the cleaning staff had their material outside most of the doors. The room and the bathroom were exceptionally clean. The staff were very polite. Directly across the street and visible from the hotel room window is the Sohoin Buddhist temple and associated graveyard (bodies are not interred there). This was a very peaceful site and interesting to look at. The air conditioning was not as powerful as in some other hotels, but I guess it was trying to cope with the 35C+ weather during the heat of the day. It was able to bring down temperatures to a comfortable sleeping temperature each evening. I also left it on constantly at 23C. The hot water was very hot and the tub was big enough to soak in.

The window was locked and could not be opened. The check-in area is on the ground floor which resembles a parking lot outside of it.

The room was fine, although the bed was a bit uncomfortable; old, saggy mattress. The breakfast had a good variety of food and the dining area was clean .

As stated, our bed was quite uncomfortable. It felt fairly old and saggy.

Entrance was a little bit hard to find at first

The Spacious hall and breakfast room were very pleasant. The food was wonderful. A very good point is the attention to customers. It is not too much, but very professional while also providing very genuine service. Very nice staff. The peaceful warm atmosphere at this hotel is very conducive to improving your general stay in Machida. The value for money is pretty incredible.

I found that some previous reviewers had not been completely fair to the value of this hotel. Esp. comments about air conditioners, cleanliness. I was worried by the comments in one or two reviews but found they did not reflect the actual conditions, which were excellent.

Great location with the train nearby and lots of food within walking distance, great service, and best for your money.

Charming Hotel but a little old Cleanliness a little bit off

Very good breakfast. There are lots to choose from, and all are good quality. I wished they served till 11:00, though. The coffee was excellent!

They stopped serving at 9:00, and that was too early for me.
