- located right at the lake - about 15 min walking to the castle and park - very friendly and engaging staff - their level of English was great, very helpful - paid parking available at the property - room felt renovated, especially the bathroom - lots of amenities in the room and at reception - conbini at ground floor

- confusing two buildings and the smaller one is the main one and the larger one with the reception is the annex somehow - the bed had a weird position, partially with your head under the window, bad feng shut - elevators could use a glow-up or a good clean

The room was much bigger than we expected, almost comparable to many high-tier hotels. Additionally, there is a rental service where you can rent various items, ranging from electric appliances to kitchen utensils. The staff are very helpful and proactive in accommodating your requests.

The distance from the nearest train station was somewhat inconvenient. It was snowing the day we arrived, and we had to take a bus to get there, even though our initial plan was to walk. Soundproofing between floors may be inadequate if you are sensitive to noise, especially when people are walking on the level directly above you.

The hotel was in a lovely location with a view over Lake Shinji and an easy walk to Matsue Castle. It's a very short walk to the Kyobashi River which has coffee shops and patisseries along the waterfront and the small laneways away from the river are also dotted with places to eat. I found a vegan restaurant not far from the castle which was a great find. The hotel seems very new with excellent WiFi and I was very pleased to find A/C I could adjust. Some hotels are centrally controlled which isn't always comfortable. The staff were fantastic with help finding places with various maps and tried to help with my vegetarian options. I was sorry to stay only two nights in Matsue.

Everything was very good.

The amenities bar was really good, one of the best I’ve seen in many times visiting Japan, with interesting items like toe separators, shoe deodorisers, soap bags and things you wouldn’t normally see, of course a good selection of creams and things too. Parking was easy although I was lucky to get one at the front, I’m glad I didn’t have to park down the street in their secondary parking. There was a convenience store onsite which was so handy. Staff were nice and friendly. Location was convenient walk to canals and castle.

Soundproofing not good, room pretty tiny, onsen was a real onsen (you know because there’s hot spring tax) but the water had chlorine smell, it wasn’t crowded though and the area was spacious and clean with a decent amount of showers.

Super clean and very reasonably priced. Comfortable room. Easy to check in and out at the kiosk. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. As for the location, it was easy to walk (10 to 20 minutes) to several attractions: the castle, a tatami workshop, history museum and a soy sauce brewery. Also, several excellent restaurants were nearby.

The nearest train & bus station was a 10 minute walk, which was daunting on a rainy, windy day with my luggage and being unfamiliar with the area. I should have taken a taxi.

We stopped here for a night on our road trip. It was surprisingly nice. We were actually exhausted and so stayed in at the hotel at night. Unfortunately the restaurant closed super early, but there was a well stocked convenience store right in the hotel. We had 2 double rooms next to each other, which were pretty spacious. The best thing was the well-stocked amenities bar and the public baths! We could borrow Yukatas and use them for the baths, which was very relaxing. While we didn't end up going out (bit of a shame) it looked like we were right near some great local areas.

Well located in front of the Shinji lake, some 30 minutes on foot from downtown area of the JR station. Several restaurants in the are and not too far from the Matsue Castle and the city handicraft center. Polite staff with widely varying English language skills; in the end, it works. Chekin, checkout procedures were efficient. Clean, functional room. Reception desk is in the so called Annex building, the restaurant is in the main building, 9th floor; both buildings are 20m apart. Japanese style buffet breakfast, with some Western options. Very well served. Try the misoshiro with the local shells, shijimi; and the buckwheat soba. Very nice view of city and lake from the restaurant and rooftop bar.

Internet worked ok but speed was not that great.

The service. The staff were exceptional, couldn’t have been more helpful. Our Japanese style room had three mattresses. As we need only two we asked for one to be removed to make more room for our six day stay. No problem, it was removed straight away. This was arranged by a vey helpful staff member who spoke English.

Nothing

We had a triple room and it was very spacious with a sitting area ,the wet room looked out on the river, it was really comfortable. The only slight complaint we had was that the breakfast finished at 9.15 and the restaurant at 9, would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again

The onsen was a lovely added bonus. The additional items for use by guests were extensive! The staff were friendly and helpful.

We did not have access to the sky viewing deck without paying Y3000, which is not stated in the booking information. This is disappointing as I booked the hotel with this in mind.
